Agree that housing costs in Greensboro have risen significantly, but surrounding areas like Summerfield, Kernersville, Jamestown, Archdale, etc. are still relatively affordable. HOWEVER, the bigger issue is the crime. Been in the surrounding area for 32 years and Greensboro has had multiple homicides, robberies, aggravated assaults, burglaries, and vehicle thefts. For anyone wanting to move there, re-think that decision and consider one of the surrounding areas because it simply isn't safe in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or High Point these days.
@@bamboojenkins8 based on me being born up north and knowing the majority of the demographic and not everyone that has moved to NC had a choice. Some moved here to get away from the activities that would have gotten them UNALIVED up north 😒
Gboro is boring for young professionals but it is evolving and has great city programs for families. Easy access to airports if you want to escape. Gboro is also centrally located in the state...you can easily get to Charlotte,Raleigh, Beaches and Mountains. As for jobs, Manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, and Healthcare are the big industries. They pay well but work conditions may not be the greatest.
That is great to hear! I honestly love it here. Congratulations on preparing to purchase a home! I am attaching a link to my home buyers guide. I think you may find that helpful! www.lynetteselbyrealestate.com/buying
My husband and I visited the Greenboro area this year during the July 4th weekend and had an amazing time. Everything that I have read and heard i agree; ie the people are friendly, economically it is cheaper than other states and cities that we have visited. We also called around to check the rental market and found that it was considerably cheaper than the cities in Florida where we are from. We really like the city, the slow pace traffic, and the cleanliness and quiteness of the city. We stayed at Haynes Bed and Breakfast and it was awesome. I did not see as large population of homelessness as we have in Fl. We were concern about that because it is a problem if Fl. We are seriously considering relocating and would love to know more about the downtown area.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’m thrilled to hear that you and your husband had such a wonderful time visiting Greensboro during the July 4th weekend. It’s always great to hear that people find our city as welcoming and enjoyable as we do. You’re absolutely right-Greensboro is known for its friendly community, lower cost of living, and more relaxed pace of life. The fact that you found the rental market to be more affordable compared to Florida is definitely a big plus, especially when considering a move. Haynes Bed and Breakfast is a fantastic choice, and I’m glad to hear you had such a positive experience there. As for the downtown area, it’s a vibrant and growing part of the city with a lot to offer. From charming historic architecture to a variety of shops, restaurants, and cultural venues, downtown Greensboro has something for everyone. The area also hosts a number of festivals and events throughout the year, making it a lively place to be. If you’re interested in exploring downtown further or want more detailed information about living in Greensboro, I’d be more than happy to help. Whether it’s about the housing market, specific neighborhoods, or just getting a feel for daily life here, I’m here to assist you as you consider this exciting potential move. Thanks again for reaching out, and I look forward to helping you with any information you need!
On the fence right now. Moved here in 2022 from South Florida, but I am noticing the home costs here are close to if not the same as North Florida where I am originally from. This area of NC has a lot to offer though. Great info 👍🏽
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It’s always interesting to hear from someone who’s made a big move. I’m glad you found the info helpful-NC really does have some hidden gems!
Thank you for your comment! I understand that, depending on where you're coming from, Greensboro's pay might seem lower. However, many residents here find fulfilling careers and are comfortable with the pay. It's all about finding the right fit and making the most of the opportunities available.
Triad is the Most Boring Area in NC and No Jobs unless your in Healthcare or Tech plus crime is crazy! But it's getting better, they are starting to build but it will take years!
Hey! I’m so glad you found it helpful! I really hope you love it here! If you have questions about the area or need help with buying a home, I am just call away!
I'd imagine those same reasons are driving people out of most of the "larger" cities in NC. I live in the Raleigh-Durham area and hear people saying the same things. It's a shame our state doesn't do more to connect the major cities with smaller towns that are for the most part rotting but would be affordable for many of the life long residents feeling squeezed out of living where the better paying jobs are.
Greensboro population has grown past 302,000 thousand. We not rising as fast like Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham or Wilmington. But apartments are popping up all over the area including High Point and Jamestown. Eastern Guilford County near Publix Distribution Center has blown up.
Great video! I was searching for info on this state and your video popped up. Greensboro was the city that I was ithe most nterested. Not sure what type of home owner funding I qualify with $17:per hour income.. I also would have to take public transportation most of the time at first. What neighbors are best to purchase homes in for public transportation?
Thank you so much!! This is why I make these videos. I am so glad you found it helpful. There are programs for first time homebuyers, where the city of Greensboro as well as the state of NC will assist with down payment and/or closing cost. Let's schedule a call to discuss all of your options. tidycal.com/lynetteselbyrealestate/firsttimehomebuyercall
Good morning! I'm currently in the Wisconsin area hoping move by March when my lease is up. However my income has changed. A immigrant lied and told the HR Manager that I quit my job which was a lie and he believed her even though he gave me that day off! What! Smh! So I filed with the EEOC office and contacted an attorney. Now I have to find another job to prove income. Omg! The devil always tries to sabatoge you when you're moving forward. No landlord or mortgage company will work with me without proven income even though I have saving and investments.
Imagine working on a job for 4 years and someone just decides to fire you probably because they want to hire a family member and they don't have to give you no sort of unemployment and they don't have to tell you why they fired you, I'm not talking about myself but I do care for other people.😮😮😮😮😮
Police investigate shooting on West Market Street in downtown Greensboro Eubanks died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing. Information about a possible suspect or motive is not available at this time. At around 2:23 a.m. on Friday, the Greensboro Police Department announced that West Market Street was closed between South Eugene Street and South Greene Street due to a “police investigation.”
Very racist on the jobs, the jobs don't have to give you no benefits and they can fire you without giving you a reason and also can fire you and don't have to give you any kind of payment after by unemployment.

I feel like the rise in crime is probably all the people that moved here from up north New York, New Jersey, Philly😒

Too darn expensive. Property taxes are outrageous.

They're probably moving to CLT.

Know that the rules in North Carolina is very very sick.
What about Churches in the area ?
Thanks for asking! There are plenty of churches in the area with welcoming communities.
Greensboro has 2 Church's chicken. I prefer Popeyes though.
It’s like 15 church’s on one street Muir’s Chapel Rd and W Friendly.
