yeah its the thing about those crazy setup characters like rosa, pac man and iceys for example haha, you wanna do the cool stuff but its really hard to do the cool stuff
Another tech that you should consider covering: it's slow to set up, but if you taunt at ledge, then cancel the taunt with a shorthop, then fastfall LL dair, then rapid jab, Luma's taunt won't cancel until the LL dair, at which point he will go down past the ledge and sit there, gimping recoveries without a hitbox like a ness yoyo. He won't fall since he's still tethered

May seems stupid but how do you manage to angle your recovery so straight like at 5:31? I tried to do a straight Up B but it still moves her forward quite a distance. Do you also have any button suggestions for wavedashing for a pro controller?
I have a Frying Pan as a hat. These are all good questions (many people ask them) To Up B straight up, right after inputting the up B, move the control stick in the opposite direction that Rosa is facing. If you do it too quick, you’ll angle it sideways, and if you’re too slow, you’ll get the 80 degree angle you normally get (see part 1 of my Rosa guide for a visual) If you want to wavedash on a pro controller, just jump and immediately buffer your grab button while angling the control stick down or diagonally down (the shield button works too but in ultimate, the grab button has less lag) Lastly, there’s nothing to rapid jabbing other than hitting ‘A’ 4 times quickly, so if you’re not getting it, you’ll just have to mash faster (this is a super common problem people have messaged me about)

Mr Macaw it’s not dumb, it’s actually hard to input! You need to tap A 4 times really quickly and hold A on the 4th. It’s only easy to do when there’s hitstun involved, but yeah you gotta press it FAST when you aren’t hitting anyone
Performing a dack nair into a wave dash (3:12) sounds a little much for me haha. Could I instead just launch Luma in-front of me? Would that work? Also, I've noticed that I've done spin trapping on accident, but didn't know how I did it. Now I know! Thanks so much! These videos are so helpful!
Ryan Anderson So the reason why that wouldn’t work is either A) Luma will be too close and can be hit by a get-up attack or B) will be too far away and will slowly fall while rapid jabbing The only way this can work properly is for Luma to still be tethered hence why you need to do this fancy set up lol Just try learning DAC-Nair first by dash attacking and jump canceling almost instantly, once you have that mastered all you need to do it air dodge downward and the rest of Spin trapping is just getting the spacing right! (Yes it’s hard but it’s suuuper effective when mastered)

I've been recently playing Rosa and I love there's this series to show how to play her this well. However with this tech I can't seem to get the jump cancel off. I've been trying it in training and either I don't get it off or I back air while luma dash attacks. Is there a way to make it more consistent? During my training I've only pulled off the jump cancel a couple times, but that was while I was constantly dashing back and forth so that doesn't tell me anything about the timing. I assume that most of the time I'm doing it too slowly or I'm accidentally pushing jump first, but the window seems too tight for that not to be the case.
Stray Khajiit it’s reeeally hard at first but trust me, it gets easier with time. It might help you get a feel for the coordination by practicing on slower speeds in training. If Rosa does a back air and luma dash attacks, that just means you missed the 3 frame window for your Airdodge input, but other than that, everything else was good (it doesn’t matter which aerial Rosa does because they can all cancel) It may also help to just practice a DAC Nair for a little and add the airdodge once that’s really consistent
don't feel bad, this is actually the #1 question I get. Unfortunately there is no secret trick, you just need to mash A VERY quickly when you aren't hitting anyone
I actually don’t have any custom controls for that tech in particular. On a GameCube controller, after dashing I just roll my thumb from A to Y and press Z to wavedash back right after. I do use custom controls for other DAC wavedash applications tho (since it works during your initial dash). For those I use the C-stick to dash attack and L to jump before wavedashing with Z.
for controls should i have my c stick with smash attack or tilts i have a hard time pulling out tilt attacks with the A button so i use tilts but this new tech seems for me to use smash moves im just unsure

This is a super common problem I get asked about. You don’t have to hit any extra buttons to rapid jab, for some reason you just need to mash ‘A’ absurdly fast when you aren’t hitting an opponent.
Zander Meneses unfortunately the only advice I have is to tap ‘A’ faster (4 times) To practice, don’t bother with the desyncs at first, just get a feel for how quickly you need to input the rapid jab, then learn how to Desync it!
I am going to cry, I am still trying to get the spin trap down but 3 button inputs in such little time is so hard, I have only gotten it correct a couple of times but always end up the rapid jab as well lmao
I’d suggest practicing it piece by piece. Get really comfortable with the rapid jab timing, then just practice DAC Nair. Once your timing for those is 2nd nature you just need to add the wavedash input. Also, I suggest practicing on slower speeds in the training room and gradually speeding it up!
Oh woah I just noticed you replied back, tanks. But after my comment I actually did do slow times and manage to get it down and the fastest was on 2/3 which I can do almost perfectly however on normal speed I just always mess it up.

2nd place, very nice 👍🏻 And yeah, cloud is reeeally tough, I often resort to attack cancels and starbits in neutral and hope I can get him offstage (Fair does really well at edgeguarding him) To be honest I’m not even sure if I still have Nintendo online, I haven’t tried to play online in a very long time (I got annoyed with the input delay)

Also I’m curious how safe Rosalina’s aerials are. Like can any of rosas aerials be punished on block or can she just land with all of her aerials and remain safe all the time
Luigi Pie to my understanding, the only safe Rosa aerial on block is a well spaced back air. As for Lunar landed aerials, theyre all safe if you get the optimal timing on their landing but I think forward air is often worse than neutral air, down air doesn’t have much range, and up air doesn’t count since it doesn’t always hit shields. But overall, Nair and Bair are always safe when timed optimally
Practice regular rapid jabs first (without hitting an opponent) You just need to mash ‘A’ reeeeally quickly It can help to practice is the training room at slower speeds

AggressiveFox 45 it does still work, you just need to tap ‘A’ 4 times VERY quickly. A lot of people have trouble with this, you can get an idea of how fast it needs to be if you go in the training room and do it at a slower speed

You need to ultra-quickly release "A", input your attack, then re-hold "A".

Sometimes I'm able to grab while Luma is rapid jabing randomly.
Rex Dex as long as you input the grab quickly in between holding ‘A’ you should be able to consistently!

Shh Child I personally prefer Tilt stick! But use whatever feels more comfortable
