Epic Drum Duets - Episode I of III
Joe Taranto and Dylan Elise work together for the first time ever at Ultimate Sound Recording Studios in Melbourne, Australia. The second episode to come will feature an intro from Dylan Elise!
For so many drummers the left hand stay asleep....these gents show you what it can sound like with the left hand giving you a constant drive! Nice job!!!!
Now that's what I call, having a conversation, musically.
How there was a connection between the both of use..
Was remarkably done well.. Thank you for sharing that with us!
When might we see sequels 2 & 3? (:
A pleasure to watch them. Huge drum sound and great drumming too.
Dylan is brillant.
Dylan Elise continues to hypnotize me and the production that Joe Taranto puts into these duets is fantastic - one guy from New Zealand - the other from Australia - some great musicians continue to come from the southern hemisphere. I know that DW are the 'best' drums in the world (I know, preferences), but those Pearls Joe is using sound GREAT. Dylan's creativity is unmatched, as is his hi-hat tricks videos on UA-cam. If you're a drummer, this is the reason you thank your stars for the internet!

Hi Scott, thanks for your comment and kind words for Dylan and myself. I am actually using a maple Tama starclassic exotix set. However, I am a big fan of Pearl drums also. There is a lot of great stuff out there. I agree, the internet is an invaluable source of information. I am so happy to know that you enjoy these duets. I still have some video work to complete for the third duet! I'll have to make some time to finish that soon! It's way overdue. Best wishes to you, Joe :)
+Joe Taranto Sheesh, you'd think after 20 years of drumming I could tell the difference between Pearls and Tamas, haha - I am looking forward to the third entry, and you guys are my current "thought models" when behind the kit!
That was awesome! Very well put together.
Awesome drums and video.
this was awesome!
Thank you Dezzarae! :)
Best wishes,
Joe
So. Fucking. Tight! The lead-up to the groove rom 2:42 into 2:49 is sublime.
I am missing Episode 3
Just curious, Joe hits his crash at 2:19 in.....and there's no sound. Overdubbed???
fucking awesome!
superbbb....See you Soon....
Hey Paul Sebastian !
Long time no see... Hope you are doing very well. Thanks for the kind words :)
that was fantastic.. what a collaboration.. Love the Aotearoa and Australia connection.. nearly 40k views.. should be more thumps up in my opinion..
To me Elise is by far the better drummer.
this video has 9000 klick's? Am I deaf or Am I just some kind of underground digger? There just should be more likes in my opinion
I love it joe
In all of this bad news cycle, this made me so happy!!! Thanks to Joe and Dylan!!!!!
any drummer that takes on Dylan Elise has got guts. Dylan is the best drummer in the world in my opinion
He's amazing alright; no question. But have you seen much of Benny Greb? Between Elise and Greb I would struggle to choose from a sheer skill/groove/feel perspective... maybe only choosing Greb because of his 'back catalogue' that I know better.
Seriously if you haven't already thoroughly recommend checking out Greb. A duet like the above between Greb and Elise would be just mind-blowing.
