Before I go on for my explanation of me bringing it up, remember to take in mind that WFC/FOC was supposed to be set in the Transformers: Prime storyline before Rise of The Dark Spark came out and completely fucked up the entire lore! Why do I mention these points? I mention them because if you read The Covenant of Primus book, Megatronus (Megatron's original name) in the beginning was a gladiator in Kaon. Megatronus also did see that the Council of Primes and Autobots were technically oppressing and enslaving the Decepticons in the energon mines, as Impactor from WFC: Seige did mention in the show in the episode when Ratchet was introduced. Megatronus, at first, made the Decepticons as a movement in order to give them the same equality as the Autobots were given. Unfortunately, as the old saying goes, power can corrupt anyone. Dude even after a whole decade this game is still amazing. From the missions, the graphics, scenery and even the music. God this game will always be a classic…
It was kinda sad seeing the big guy get forcefully turned into a ship, but i really liked what they did with Megatron. It’s like he’s pretty smart and cunning, and can come up with some pretty impressive schemes, but he’s also completely insane at the same time.
This is made way more heart wrenching by the music. I swear, from the menu theme to this song FOC has the best soundtrack in any video game I have every played.
That's how Megatron repay a life of loyalty and servitude: by desecrate your body. How is it that he still manage to have followers? How can the Decepticons not see that Megatron is an asshole to all of them?
Being fair, Trypticon failed in his duty, which lost Megatron's respect for him. Also, nobody knew about Trypticon, aside from Soundwave and Megatron himself. As for why the Decepticons don't rebel against Megatron... They would be destroyed by all of his loyalists AND him.
Francesco Brosolo I think it is because he treats them like scrap. Decepticon society is very different from Autobot society. Prime treats his Autobots with respect, dignity, and is trying to save them all from Megatron's society. Megatron is the strongest decepticon, the most fit to lead. He took down Omega Supreme, and he took control of Dark Energon. Nobody wants to challenge his rule, because he is just too powerful. And he has the most loyal Decepticon at his side, Soundwave. Even Soundwave is very powerful, almost able to beat Megatron in the gladiatorial pits. If you went against them on your own, you have a better chance at dying than succeeding. If you conspire against Megatron, someone is likely to snitch. Soundwave's pet, Laserbeak, sees and hears everything. In fact, I think it is almost a Mafia Mentality mixed with a Bee Hive mentality. The Mafia part, nobody wants to take the inner circle on, or conspire against them, because a reward from Megatron would be given to someone who reveals a conspiracy against him. And if you take them on on your own, you die immediately. So that discredits anyone from going against him. Unless you are an Autobot. But even the Autobots are losing the war, so nobody wants to join them. The Beehive part, another decepticon will fill in the gap of power. Starscream proved this. If Starscream died, Shockwave would probably take control. If Shockwave died, Onslaught would probably take control. So even if there IS a successful uprising, killing Megatron off, only a name would change. The true problem with the Decepticons is how their society works, rather than how their leader treats them when they fail him. Optimus is saving himself and many others from the Decepticon society, but with how militaristic the Decepticons are, Autobots are dying by the score.
Michael Bell Very good point.. an excellent analysis. Seems a problem radicated in any society, be that human or cybertronian, to have a tendency to follow the most ruthless and egoistic persons.
Francesco Brosolo You would think that the Decepticons were based off of the Nazis, but I think they were inspired by some war tribe in Africa or Native America. Hell, maybe even based off of the Uruks from Lord of the Rings. Well. If that tribe had access to millions of soldiers, and planet busting weaponry. If you watch Transformers: Prime, you'll get more information about this series of games, as they are from the same universe.
That's what I always think, There are three types of Decepticons, the cowardly bots looking for an opportunity for power, the sadistic maniacs looking for blood and the ones who would die for Megatron and the decepticon cause, I believe Trypticon falls into the latter of the three.
@@randomspartan4750 hmm I wouldn't say permanent tho. Long story short no Metroplex wasen't a city permanently.
What makes this more sad is that the autobots were stripping him down and draining his energon before the decepticons arrived, Even megatron said he didnt think optimus had it in him to do that. What the autobots did too trypticton was far worse grinding him down still alive and aware of surroundings
Optimus didn't want to do that but in times of war and the possibility of extinction drives people to do immortal acts. The difference is that Megatron would do it just to spite Optimus.

I’m gonna be honest. If they repaired trypticon in time they could have easily destroyed the arc by letting him transform into his space station mode with the gun.
Just rewatched and noticed something... at 0:36 during Megatron's speech you hear a deep groan, like a massive animal's, as the camera zooms in on Trypticon's head. It's a hint that he CAN hear Megatron and was conscious about his fate. Makes this horrific on a whole new level.
He is, but the Autobots are escaping Cybertron in a giant ship and Megatrons orbital space station lizard is under autobot guard. He got no other means of long distance travel, and refueling Trypticon after repairs would be too time consuming. When Trypticon would be ready to pick up the pursuit the autobots would be long gone and plotting to fight another day. The Decepticon victory over Cybertron would only be temporary, Megatron had no other choice.
I agree, megaton was always to hasty to do things. Never really took his time to figure things out. He thought he was so powerful he could never make a mistake. And look where that got him in the end! Glad he never became the Prime.
I don't think a single person here understands OP's use of the word 'sacrifice'. A sacrifice isn't just someone giving up themselves. It can be someone giving you up or putting you forward for a greater cause. In this case, Megatron is forwarding Trypticon as a sacrifice to become their ship for the greater cause of the Decepticons. That is absolutely a sacrifice. Please read a book.
@@Obozo_Gaming I'm just getting annoyed at some of the comments talking about how it isn't a sacrifice. What happened is the dictionary goddamn definition of a sacrifice. Like... come on.
TheBrandonRobert I think the problem is the title. It makes it seem like trypticon sacrificed himself. If it was called trypticon is sacrificed or megaton sacrifices trypticon it would have been different
Thing I dislike about this Megatron is that he comes off as a pure brutish meathead. Megatron may have been a tyrant, but he always had a certain degree of class and sophistication around him.
He does (sort of) make one final stand. In the Transformers Prime tv series (season 2) wont spoil it but Megatron 'tinkers' with his ship (Nemesis - what he is forcing Trypticon into in this vid) and he comes back online. He can;t change though, but he becomes the villain for that one episode and is against both the Autobots & Decepticons.
@DoctorOblivian By the time they would've repaired Trypticon, the Autobots would've been long gone and they wouldn't have had a ship efficient enough to get them to the portal. Like Shockwave said, they needed a ship with a strong enough power core to fly them there and Trypticon was the only one with just that without having time being wasted. Megatron wanted to kill the Autobots before they had the chance to leave Cybertron.
there's WAY too many plot holes and continuity errors for them to be connected. its essentially the same as saying that these games are connected to the live action movies: it makes no sense
TeamTRPT tell me one If it's about dark energon that was explain to be different type If it's alt mode different's it been explained The only plot hole was rid because hasbro said the original rid was too dark and insult human a lot
Synopsis: After taking down the Autobot forces guarding Trypticon, Soundwave reports to Megatron that the massive Decepticon was not only in deep stasis, but much of him is in very bad shape. Before making an estimation of repair time, Megatron refuses to allow it. He tells the slumbering Trypticon that the warlord himself did not arrive to rescue him, as the latter failed to destroy the Autobots, and plots to alter and redesign him to his specifications. Soundwave tells Megatron that in the damaged state Trypticon is in, his alternate form may become permanent. Despite that, Megatron orders Soundwave to commence the Nemesis Protocol. And thus, the massive and fearsome Trypticon would eventually become the eponymous spaceship, the Nemesis.

No, he is right. This is the worth of a lifetime of serving Megatron: you obey him like a slave and once you're dead your body will be desecrated and used for something else.
since they take place in the same continuity, I like to imagine that TFP episode where the Nemesis was fueled by dark energon and temporarily became self aware? yeah I like to think that was Trypticon.
This is One of the rare cases I felt truly horrified, disgusted and saddened by what Megatron did. I mean, sure, I have fun hating on the guy for all the bots he killed. But this? This was.... This is probably as close as a Cybertronian can get to being r*p*d.... He took away someone's body, while he was alive. And what's worse, if trypticon IS still in there. He's stuck. There's no going back for him. No moving forward. That's his life. Forever. And Megatron did it to one of his own. A very loyal one from all the evidence. Just cause it's easier then retrofitting the dozens of dmged warships he surly has

Megatron doesn’t deserve ANYTHING but another absolute beating from either Optimus or Metroplex all over again.
Trypticon deserved the Autobots instead.😊
Just goes to show the true depths of Megatron's evil. Every Cybertronian was nothing more than a means to an end to that megalomaniac, tools to be used and discarded.
It's sad because megatron wanted equity for cybertron but the war turned him mad
@@xbox720king there is a saying "power reveals the true you"

I'm sure he started the war with the goal of true equality on Cybertron, but he wouldn't accept anyone else but him as the herald of this new age. Ultimately, Megatron was consumed by his pride and envy, that he had to prove to himself that he is better than Optimus. What destroyed Cybertron was his recklessness and feeling that he could always crush the Autobots with just one more strike.

It was kinda sad seeing the big guy get forcefully turned into a ship, but i really liked what they did with Megatron. It’s like he’s pretty smart and cunning, and can come up with some pretty impressive schemes, but he’s also completely insane at the same time.
That's why he's one of my favorite Megatrons. Plus the model is good.

How did I not notice that until now?
The point is how Megatron managed to get loyalists at all. He threat all Decepticons like scrap.
Francesco Brosolo
I think it is because he treats them like scrap.
Knowing Trypticon, he might consider this an honor. Being useful to Megatron, no matter how, was always his game plan. At least in these games.
That's what I always think, There are three types of Decepticons, the cowardly bots looking for an opportunity for power, the sadistic maniacs looking for blood and the ones who would die for Megatron and the decepticon cause, I believe Trypticon falls into the latter of the three.
Trypiticon trys to protest at 0:37. He says something similar to "nooo" if you listen closely.
It was at this point that Trypticon realized that being a decepticon, was a bad idea, especially your alternate form is permanent.

The difference is that Megatron would do it just to spite Optimus.

the soundtrack in this game is incredible! they better release it for sure
I believe megatron made a huge error destroying trypticon like that for one failure he is an extremely powerful asset
You're right but. Trypticon IS powerful, and lost twice. Failing the decepticons.
we should have a full transformations of this to be fair would be awsome
Even Autobots questioned themselve when they try to dry Trypticon energon
Even though Tripticon is a Decepticon, this is enough for man to cry
Thing I dislike about this Megatron is that he comes off as a pure brutish meathead. Megatron may have been a tyrant, but he always had a certain degree of class and sophistication around him.
He does (sort of) make one final stand. In the Transformers Prime tv series (season 2) wont spoil it but Megatron 'tinkers' with his ship (Nemesis - what he is forcing Trypticon into in this vid) and he comes back online. He can;t change though, but he becomes the villain for that one episode and is against both the Autobots & Decepticons.
MeteorTesh i remember not making the connection for ages despite playing the game and watching the episode
I find it very sad how we even see the light in his eye go completely dark like his soul just left his body 😢😢😢
So in transformers prime the nemesis takes over is just trypticon take over

Trypticon gets his revenge in tfp where Megatron repairs the nemesis with dark energon , briefly Trypticons conscious.
No.
