Thank you. Glad you're uploading new vids. Enjoy your straightforward clear presentation style..
Thank you, this was very informative.
What do you use to tether the camera? Any advice on how to connect my D3400 to my smart TV?
Hello Spyros, thank you for your great explanations. It was very helpful.I own a nikon d3300 with afp 18-55 vr kit lens,i like to shoot portraits of my family and like doing some travel and street photography.I am thinking of buying a lens, can you please suggest me a lens which will be good for my type of photography?
I am confused between sigma 17-50 f2.8 oss,sigma 17-70 f2.8-f4
Which one is better especially in terms of image quality?
Or can you suggest me another lens that you think might be better for my needs?or shall i have to upgrade my camera to something like nikon d7200?
Thanks spyros
How do you do bracketing with exposure and shutter speed?
I have a D3400. I shoot minor hockey and use the exposure valueless EV all the time. I shoot manual mode. The lens I use most of the time is the Nikkor AF-P DX 70-300mm f:/4.5-6.3G ED VR.
In my home arena, my camera is set to 1/320 sec ISO 3200 aperture f:/4.5, EV +1.7. I use AF-C continuous and. 3D tracking with burst mode on if I need it. I use the EV because of the reflective ice surface.
I can’t use aperture priority because the lens is variable aperture. As I zoom out, I lose light and the aperture can go to 6.3 at 300mm. To compensate I can do a number of things based on how many stops.
If I go out to 180mm or more, I change iso to 6400 which causes the sensor to be more sensitive. So I’ll drop the EV to
+1.3 or +1.0 and shoot at 1/400second. The aperture is variable .
It’s just the matter of counting how many stops of light I have to adjust, and change the settings accordingly to maintain my exposure. I rarely shoot video because I can’t be behind the bench. Might get hit by a puck. So I do it at a practice. Video at 24fps shutter speed at 1/50. Focal length 70mm. Aperture 4.5. ISO drops from 3200 to 400 or 200 and change the EV to 0. Depends on the light and arena I’m in.
Very Helpful
That’s not entirely true. I’ve used it with the manual mode as well.
