In this video and every other one I have watched I say to myself ' yeah I can see what he is doing,' followed by ' now I have not got a clue', truly amazing detail and your own added touches, such as the old nails you cut down and used them as a kind of decorative dowell.
Awesome. I love that you show how to break down in simple steps on how to do some joinery without all the talking. Also, awesome job at cutting straight lines with a jigsaw. I can't cut a straight line with a jigsaw to save my life.
Every time one of these videos pops up, I think to myself "no way can this build top the last one" . And every time I'm wrong! Absolutely amazing work, every single time.
@@EpicUpCycling I saw your title about a very solid bench, that reminded me of a welding bench a driver/mechanic made in my dad's shop. The thing probably weighed nearly a thousand pounds, the vises would break before the bench would flip over. ;)
by chance I found you tonite, what I really enjoy about this....no yakking on, no blowing your own trumpet, no pretentiousness, just plain simple down to earth use what I can easily get carpentry. Sir you have another follower.
This is what I aspire to be and possibly build. I have a purpose built bench but it’s against the wall and a bit high (had is installed for arts & crafts not wood work😂). I’m always blown away by this guys attention to detail and recycling habit, it’s great. I can just about put a nail in straight, although I have made a few things now. Slowly building up my confidence, but i can’t get my head around starting to use my chop saw, still in the box, even the pictures on the side scare me (a pressie from my hubby last xmas). I’m watching Epics videos slowly building up my courage. Can’t even join Men in Sheds to learn, as I’m a female😢, so wood working channels are my go to. Thanks for sharing.
Another relaxing 37:20 minutes wondering how you are going to make this happen - then it's done - a joy to have bumped into your UA-cam page - again - thanks for sharing
The BEST channel for reusing older more seasoned wood . . Hes showing people that wood is wood and once cleaned up is still useful for repurposing into other products . .never simply disgard that old growth timber if you can help it :)
I've only rcently discovered your channel and I'd just like to say you are an absolutely wonderful craftsman. What makes everything even better is you just get on with it. No chatter, blaring music or silly time wasting gimmicks. Bravo!
That workbench is going to last for the next 250 years and beyond. Really great. When I am finally getting around to set up my woodworking shop in the very near future this one will serve me as an example. Thanks.
Wood ASMR. Most of the other woodworkers have background music and/or voice overs. Just simple wood clank, scraping, and pounding. Watching this while I work out something of my own to build.
I watch several makers on UA-cam, I love your work. Limited use of power tools and the rest is done by hand tools. No special tools or overpriced tools. I wish I had a shop big enough to do some of these projects.
This is incredible. Pure wood working - as good as it gets. Also love the fact that you use nails and chisels, instead of relying on machines to do everything.
Hi Jason, I have to say, as a fellow woodworker and maker, I find your channel to be one of the most inspiring on UA-cam. Thank you so much for all your hard work, passion for your craft and creativity in producing these amazing pieces of art and indeed the videos. 😊
You teach us all, so patiently, there is no such thing as scrap, just some things and pieces we haven't found re-use for. The design and function are spectacular!
What impressed me the most in this impressive build are the little used bottle cap drawer pulls. You took washers, ground them down to size using a lathe so they are perfectly round and exactly the size needed to fit into the caps. Then the plastic washer to flatten out the dented center, then tapping the assembly down into a cylinder to make the crimped edges perfectly round again. Whole assembly in stainless steel so it all works perfectly for the right thickness of the drawer front. Simply outstanding. The rusty nails being used as a design effect was also genius. It looks like metal pins in there. Beautiful. Jason, your work just blows my mind. The level of conceptualizing, measuring so accurately, aesthetic realization, and the creative process of solutions like those bottle caps. Very impressed by your creativity, the size of your projects, and the precision and patience to make it come to life. Well done, sir! fyi - The rusty nails though, I would dip them in Loctite Rust Neutralizer, dry, then hammer in. It will bond the rust to metal and leave a thin coat to prevent further rusting. Else over time that will streak the wood.
With your work, you have brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. Like yourself, my grandfather was a very crafty man, he built his own workbench, and when he moved his worship to a larger space, I helped him to disassemble the mammoth thing and re-assemble back all again. It took us about 3 days to do the job, and it was hard (especially when I was only about 13 years of age), but in the process, I learned so much about wood, design, construction, tenacity, and self-pride. How proud you must be to have made your own furniture. I envy you. A great pleasure to watch you work. Thank you for the opportunity. Cheers
I’m speechless, really!! You should be included in the Guiness Book of Records as the most inventive man turning scrap wood into outstanding furniture.
I have just given up my fishing to watch this again and I am not disappointed. That was another absolutely fantastic project. Thank you. Take care and stay safe sir. Tom.
I’m so jealous of your skill level and enormous amount of patience but what really blows me away is your thought process and how you think them up. Respect sir.
Watching your videos always makes me feel like I've been given this awesome gift. I feel privileged that I get to watch you build these amazing projects. Thank you.

I love the creative way he recycles stuff like bottle caps to give the workbench some personality while still being functional and very practical. And stylish. Now he needs a bigger workshop and some extra cash to build it! I'm always waiting to see what he can think of next and he never fails to impress me. Next video here I come!
Absolute masterpiece! I watch these like a suspense movie, on the edge of my seat. What's he gonna do with those bottle caps? ... oh no!, why is he cutting an angle on that perfect box. This guy is the real deal. Quickly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel.
The exposed salvaged nail heads on the drawer faces are an interesting choice. Another iteration might include a single rusty salvaged pallet nail, with the last 1/2" bent over and hammered flat into the board for a bit of wabi-sabi flair. Lol. Kudos.
Wonder over wonder... all this amazing details.... holy shxt... wherefrom are all this ideas??? Best woodworker I've ever seen... that's why I named you godfather of palettes and rusty nails.... Real, never seen such stunning creations like your's.... this or that blessed you!!! 😮

An excellent project. A lot of care and effort here in giving those bits and pieces a new life in your shop. Oh my goodness....the inspiration of this is beyond words. This is the type of man you want to do an internship under.
Spectacular. And I thought ahead and bought popcorn.
Solid core firedoor is by far the easiest solution for flatness, lipping with apron and adding a vice. Easily replaced if you build it so.
I do appreciate the time and effort and skill to create the joinery in your builds.
