Thanks :)
100 percent agreed mesmerising to watch
a workbench like that is every mans dream.. awesome job
Thanks Billy :)
And the most awesome of women too😉
My dream too 😍
Awesome. I love that you show how to break down in simple steps on how to do some joinery without all the talking.
Also, awesome job at cutting straight lines with a jigsaw. I can't cut a straight line with a jigsaw to save my life.
In this video and every other one I have watched I say to myself ' yeah I can see what he is doing,' followed by ' now I have not got a clue', truly amazing detail and your own added touches, such as the old nails you cut down and used them as a kind of decorative dowell.
Thanks for the comments :)
That was my favorite part too, something many would just throw away, reused well.
You keep one upping yourself video after video. Amazing.
It makes me sad when it's finished. Such accuracy with essentially hand tools. Amazing!
I've lost count of how many times I've rewatched this video.
You make me feel so lazy and inspired at the same time.
Absolute Traumwerkbank! 😌😊
Every time one of these videos pops up, I think to myself "no way can this build top the last one" . And every time I'm wrong! Absolutely amazing work, every single time.
Thanks David :)
@@EpicUpCycling I saw your title about a very solid bench, that reminded me of a welding bench a driver/mechanic made in my dad's shop. The thing probably weighed nearly a thousand pounds, the vises would break before the bench would flip over. ;)
Solid core firedoor is by far the easiest solution for flatness, lipping with apron and adding a vice. Easily replaced if you build it so.
Love all the care to make "just" a workbench!! And those knobs are the coolest!!
by chance I found you tonite, what I really enjoy about this....no yakking on, no blowing your own trumpet, no pretentiousness, just plain simple down to earth use what I can easily get carpentry. Sir you have another follower.
Thanks Tony :)
When a workbench becomes a work of art.
I throughly enjoyed 37min without blinking my eyes...no talking no babling...quite guy...but hell of a genius fella.
Thanks very much :)
Another relaxing 37:20 minutes wondering how you are going to make this happen - then it's done - a joy to have bumped into your UA-cam page - again - thanks for sharing
im 62 and a 3rd generation carpenter my grandfather used tools this way loved to see your craftmanship using the old tools
Can only describe that workbench one way, ''BEAUTIFUL, trimmed with character.''
Thanks :)
Spectacular. And I thought ahead and bought popcorn.
How do you manage to teach so much without talking? you are the best carpenter on youtube!
Thanks Reba :)
Wow, that is just wow!!! You are one of the least rated carpenters on UA-cam, but one of the best. Your craftsmanship is one of a kind. Stay healthy!
Thanks :)
Hi Jason, I have to say, as a fellow woodworker and maker, I find your channel to be one of the most inspiring on UA-cam. Thank you so much for all your hard work, passion for your craft and creativity in producing these amazing pieces of art and indeed the videos. 😊
Thanks Jamie 👍
It's always a pleasure to see your work, Stephen King!
Thank you! Been trying to figure out who he reminded me of! LOL
I knew it.
I was just going to say this is what Stephen King does when he isn’t writing.
Wonder over wonder... all this amazing details.... holy shxt... wherefrom are all this ideas???
Best woodworker I've ever seen... that's why I named you godfather of palettes and rusty nails.... Real, never seen such stunning creations like your's.... this or that blessed you!!! 😮
Bag your pardon, Sir... my english isn't so well... sometimes I'm missing many words... but I think... I will survive when I've to visit UK... 😉😂🤣👍
Your English is a lot better than my German 😀
I am convinced you are an Elven Lord with magic greater then Gandalfs and Merlin combined. Every video I watch of yours just wows me!
Thanks :)
Restoring my faith in humanity, one giant splinter at a time 😁. Thank you for inspiring me and others to keep trying.
I wish I was the man who sold this man glue and Briwax. Awesome build, as ever.
10% inspirational , 90% Perspirational . An heirloom from scrap only Jason (engineer, artist ,woodworker , scrapwood sourcer could make .
Thanks :)
I've only rcently discovered your channel and I'd just like to say you are an absolutely wonderful craftsman. What makes everything even better is you just get on with it. No chatter, blaring music or silly time wasting gimmicks. Bravo!
Thanks very much :)
I wanna second this… exactly what I wanted to say…❤
Oh my goodness....the inspiration of this is beyond words. This is the type of man you want to do an internship under.
In don't know how I missed this one before but this is the first time I watched this vid, can't wait for the next one (must be due soon, got withdrawal symptoms)
Btw, it was very strange not seeing all those fabulous chests and racks you have built since the bench. Brilliant project and brilliant vid as always.
Thanks Alex. Another video coming next week :)
So now you have a foot rest for a pedicurist for elephants.
That is the best workbench I have ever seen. And the way you joined it all I bet you could use it to do elephants feet. The elephant could sit on it and it wouldn’t move. That is a beautiful piece of work. Thank you for letting us watch you build it. And I look forward to the next build. And I am still waiting for that one cabinet with the darker reddish color. Sorry sometimes I watch things out of order.
Thanks very much for the comments, Kathy :)
You were quite welcome, you and my grandfather would’ve love sitting and chatting about all the things they’ve built. Again I look forward to your next project Kathy
This is incredible. Pure wood working - as good as it gets. Also love the fact that you use nails and chisels, instead of relying on machines to do everything.
Thanks very much for the comments :)
That's because this guy is a genius. This is the third time I have watched this one and never get bored. Definitely the GOAT.
expertly done, watched loads of your videos, at the top of your game, pure professional.
Thanks very much :)
Just Beautiful Workmanship...Long Lost Skill...Will You Build Me One...Keep Making these Amazing Projects
This is what I aspire to be and possibly build. I have a purpose built bench but it’s against the wall and a bit high (had is installed for arts & crafts not wood work😂). I’m always blown away by this guys attention to detail and recycling habit, it’s great. I can just about put a nail in straight, although I have made a few things now. Slowly building up my confidence, but i can’t get my head around starting to use my chop saw, still in the box, even the pictures on the side scare me (a pressie from my hubby last xmas). I’m watching Epics videos slowly building up my courage. Can’t even join Men in Sheds to learn, as I’m a female😢, so wood working channels are my go to. Thanks for sharing.
Chop saws and band saws scare the willies out of me too!
I have no idea where you get your ideas from but please do not stop, it gives me something to look forward to.
That’s not a bench that is a piece of furniture,it would not look out of place in a kitchen or dining room! Another tremendously interesting video I always look forward to each new release.
Thanks Mike :)
I do appreciate the time and effort and skill to create the joinery in your builds.
The exposed salvaged nail heads on the drawer faces are an interesting choice. Another iteration might include a single rusty salvaged pallet nail, with the last 1/2" bent over and hammered flat into the board for a bit of wabi-sabi flair. Lol.
Kudos.
Wow, what a beautiful workbench!!! This is the kind of woodworking I like.
All you CNC/laser cutter boys eat your heart out.
Thanks K M :)
I want to echo the sentiments I see on this channel. Yes, this the best real woodworki g channel on youtube!
Absolute masterpiece! I watch these like a suspense movie, on the edge of my seat. What's he gonna do with those bottle caps? ... oh no!, why is he cutting an angle on that perfect box. This guy is the real deal. Quickly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel.
You can literally hear how dry that wood is when you have it in your hands lol, love it.
The whole thing is gorgeous but my mind was blown by the bottle caps. Genius!
Thanks :)

Its not often you see the word "epic" in a video and its actually an understatement! Really like the beer bottle cap handles!
Thanks :)
LOVE the bottle cap handles. Brilliant and fun!
Always impressed by your accuracy and resolve. Looking back at my impatience and sloppiness - thank you for leading by example.
Giving a new meaning to "Built like a tank". Beatiful.
I watch several makers on UA-cam, I love your work. Limited use of power tools and the rest is done by hand tools. No special tools or overpriced tools. I wish I had a shop big enough to do some of these projects.
My thoughts as well, Micheal... A refreshing absence of high cost power tools and gadgets. Nice to see a radial arm saw in use again...
Russ
Those boxes on the end are such a great idea.
Thanks :)
The BEST channel for reusing older more seasoned wood . . Hes showing people that wood is wood and once cleaned up is still useful for repurposing into other products . .never simply disgard that old growth timber if you can help it :)
For the next project you should turn the workbench you dismantled into a pallet. Great work, that is a fantastic looking workbench.
Thanks Aaron :)
The only mystery to me is how there could be only 209k subscribers to this channel and 15k likes on this video after 863k views, something is wrong with over half a million people. Outstanding content and delightful to watch the inventive ways you work the project. Subscribed and waiting for the next treat.
Thanks very much :)
Gordon Bennet! You weren't kidding when you said solid were you! Great job guy and thanks for bringing us along.
Thanks Pete :)
With your work, you have brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. Like yourself, my grandfather was a very crafty man, he built his own workbench, and when he moved his worship to a larger space, I helped him to disassemble the mammoth thing and re-assemble back all again. It took us about 3 days to do the job, and it was hard (especially when I was only about 13 years of age), but in the process, I learned so much about wood, design, construction, tenacity, and self-pride. How proud you must be to have made your own furniture. I envy you. A great pleasure to watch you work. Thank you for the opportunity. Cheers
Thanks for the comments :)
I love to watch a craftsman. Glad to see you got a electric drill.
You teach us all, so patiently, there is no such thing as scrap, just some things and pieces we haven't found re-use for.
The design and function are spectacular!
Thanks Joe :)
Sweet mother of joinery. That is some fantastic workbench.
Forget the workshop, I want this as a cutting table in my sewing room. Gotta love the drawer knobs, such a brilliant idea and looks great!
Over the moon I found your channel can’t beat up cycling 👍🏼🏴🇬🇧
I've watched a number of your videos and each and every time you amaze me. Your handiwork, your creativity and your careful execution of the work you do is outstanding! It makes me wish I had a quarter of your talent! Thank you for not having loud and obnoxious music blasting in the background as you craft the incredible and useful pieces of artwork!
Thanks very much :)

Truly an epic upcycle.
I am always in awe with every project. This one is no different.
Perfect job. 👍👍👍🇦🇹
i saw my notification, i clicked it, full screen. I never even saw the title until i watched it all. Why? because what you build isint important. its the process and watching something come together that i most enjoy about your content.
Also it was fun to guess what was going on the whole time.
Splendid build. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks :)
What impressed me the most in this impressive build are the little used bottle cap drawer pulls.
You took washers, ground them down to size using a lathe so they are perfectly round and exactly the size needed to fit into the caps. Then the plastic washer to flatten out the dented center, then tapping the assembly down into a cylinder to make the crimped edges perfectly round again. Whole assembly in stainless steel so it all works perfectly for the right thickness of the drawer front. Simply outstanding.
The rusty nails being used as a design effect was also genius. It looks like metal pins in there. Beautiful.
Jason, your work just blows my mind. The level of conceptualizing, measuring so accurately, aesthetic realization, and the creative process of solutions like those bottle caps. Very impressed by your creativity, the size of your projects, and the precision and patience to make it come to life. Well done, sir!
fyi - The rusty nails though, I would dip them in Loctite Rust Neutralizer, dry, then hammer in. It will bond the rust to metal and leave a thin coat to prevent further rusting. Else over time that will streak the wood.
I had been wondering when this was coming! I’m ready to dive right in, mate.
Hello, Lord of the nails !!!
If you ever need help to make the drawers,
I am willing to drink all the beers that are necessary. Greetings !!!
Thanks :)
I’m so jealous of your skill level and enormous amount of patience but what really blows me away is your thought process and how you think them up. Respect sir.
Thanks Michael :)
I have just given up my fishing to watch this again and I am not disappointed. That was another absolutely fantastic project.
Thank you. Take care and stay safe sir. Tom.
Thanks very much, Tom :)
I could watch you make drawers all day. Which is good, because you make a lot of drawers :)
Watching your videos always makes me feel like I've been given this awesome gift. I feel privileged that I get to watch you build these amazing projects. Thank you.
Thanks :)
I’m speechless, really!!
You should be included in the Guiness Book of Records as the most inventive man turning scrap wood into outstanding furniture.
I love the creative way he recycles stuff like bottle caps to give the workbench some personality while still being functional and very practical. And stylish. Now he needs a bigger workshop and some extra cash to build it! I'm always waiting to see what he can think of next and he never fails to impress me. Next video here I come!
Long & short shouldered, haunched mortice & tenons... serious skills my man. Kudos. Nice build.
Thanks :)
Holy cow! Just watching from beginning to end absolutely amazed me. To create a piece so magnificent is nothing short of sheer talent. Love to have this in my kitchen as a true work station. It’s so neat and really cool. Cheers!
Thanks very much for the comments :)
Love it, love it, love it. I have begun a pallet collection, it's become an obsession, wondering everytime I see a pallet if the owner wants to part with it, lol. I have made a wheel barrow planter, not exactly a Victorian display cabinet or a dream bench. 😂 perhaps if I keep watching I'll strike out and build something bigger. Thanks for sharing your amazing skills, you never cease to amaze.
And here folks, we have a bloody mad man in his natural environment.
What a treat this guy is.
Man!!!!!!!! That job is amazing, old-school carpentry. I love it!!!!!!!!
That is a very impressive workbench. Love the use of the bottle caps.
The name of your channel says it all. You inspire us.
hey just the video i was looking for :) edit: dude, i love watching you work. im new to this, so thank you for showing us your methods. 18:50 using the textured door in the middle of the table where no one will see the texture - amazing. i love your channel because i end up learning things that i didnt know i wanted to know, as well as giving me ideas on how to do them irl. today i just took off a door that i was going to throw away but will now save. the content youre creating definitely adds a lot of value to the world.
Thanks very much for the comments, Mike :)
If it's a hollow core door (very light) just don't use it for the top top. However, it would make a surprisingly strong and straight base for a solid-core door or solid wood slat top.
Wood ASMR. Most of the other woodworkers have background music and/or voice overs. Just simple wood clank, scraping, and pounding.
Watching this while I work out something of my own to build.
Incredible what you can build with wood.
I never get tired of watching your videos.
You definitely put way more work and material in to this than I would have. Definitely solid.
Love everything about this build. I also recycle nails in the same way. Nice work on the bottle top handles -- very creative!
Thanks :)
you put the effort in ,and this is the end result ,something to be well proud of ,.Nice work fella
Thanks very much, Colin :)
Yet again, amazing, the detail, the patience, ...
Me, as a beekeeper, was wondering what it would look like if you were piecing together a beehive just from scrap and pallets.
How cool would that be. My own beehives are made from stuff around my place as they are layens hives.
There are no rules in creating them and that's exactly what I see in your work, no rules and a grand finale.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks Wendy. I'd love to build a beehive some day :)
This is a work of art. Bottom line. Love it.
Thanks Karl :)
Excited for the new video. I know my whole family will be happy to watch!
Bottle Caps, another great idea. Little Cleat Boxes excellent. Thanks for the videos and Epic ideas.
Thanks Kenn :)
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, mere mortals 🪚
when I saw you putting the door on top of the frame, I was just thinking "no way"... These pieces, the videos and your relaxed style are a blessing and they are amazing to watch.
Thanks Philipp :)
I get mesmerized every time I see you build something. This was amazing to watch!
An excellent project. A lot of care and effort here in giving those bits and pieces a new life in your shop. One suggestion: find a decent used or new circular saw to use in place of that jig saw for long cuts. You’ll find it is quicker and with the use of a guide, much more accurate. I really liked the reuse of those bottle caps. A cool look.
ahh you have to drink so many beer to build this. Nice work and sacrifice master crafter !! :)
Who needs expensive machinery? Top job mate.
Thanks David :)
He has good machinery!

That is an amazing work bench! I am so jealous. Something like that would be great for a crafters room as well. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Regina :)
