a workbench like that is every mans dream.. awesome job
Thanks Billy :)
And the most awesome of women too😉
Awesome. I love that you show how to break down in simple steps on how to do some joinery without all the talking.
Also, awesome job at cutting straight lines with a jigsaw. I can't cut a straight line with a jigsaw to save my life.
Best woodworking channel on UA-cam.
Thanks :)
100 percent agreed mesmerising to watch
Giving a new meaning to "Built like a tank". Beatiful.
Every time one of these videos pops up, I think to myself "no way can this build top the last one" . And every time I'm wrong! Absolutely amazing work, every single time.
Thanks David :)
@@EpicUpCycling I saw your title about a very solid bench, that reminded me of a welding bench a driver/mechanic made in my dad's shop. The thing probably weighed nearly a thousand pounds, the vises would break before the bench would flip over. ;)
I throughly enjoyed 37min without blinking my eyes...no talking no babling...quite guy...but hell of a genius fella.
Thanks very much :)
Love all the care to make "just" a workbench!! And those knobs are the coolest!!
That's what I call a work bench!
You keep one upping yourself video after video. Amazing.
Spectacular. And I thought ahead and bought popcorn.
Oh my goodness....the inspiration of this is beyond words. This is the type of man you want to do an internship under.
It's always a pleasure to see your work, Stephen King!
Thank you! Been trying to figure out who he reminded me of! LOL
I knew it.
I was just going to say this is what Stephen King does when he isn’t writing.
And here folks, we have a bloody mad man in his natural environment.
What a treat this guy is.
im 62 and a 3rd generation carpenter my grandfather used tools this way loved to see your craftmanship using the old tools
You Sir are a wooden God💪👍
I've lost count of how many times I've rewatched this video.
You make me feel so lazy and inspired at the same time.
Wow, that is just wow!!! You are one of the least rated carpenters on UA-cam, but one of the best. Your craftsmanship is one of a kind. Stay healthy!
Thanks :)
I am convinced you are an Elven Lord with magic greater then Gandalfs and Merlin combined. Every video I watch of yours just wows me!
Thanks :)
This is incredible. Pure wood working - as good as it gets. Also love the fact that you use nails and chisels, instead of relying on machines to do everything.
Thanks very much for the comments :)
That's because this guy is a genius. This is the third time I have watched this one and never get bored. Definitely the GOAT.
The BEST channel for reusing older more seasoned wood . . Hes showing people that wood is wood and once cleaned up is still useful for repurposing into other products . .never simply disgard that old growth timber if you can help it :)
Absolute masterpiece! I watch these like a suspense movie, on the edge of my seat. What's he gonna do with those bottle caps? ... oh no!, why is he cutting an angle on that perfect box. This guy is the real deal. Quickly becoming my favorite UA-cam channel.
With your work, you have brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. Like yourself, my grandfather was a very crafty man, he built his own workbench, and when he moved his worship to a larger space, I helped him to disassemble the mammoth thing and re-assemble back all again. It took us about 3 days to do the job, and it was hard (especially when I was only about 13 years of age), but in the process, I learned so much about wood, design, construction, tenacity, and self-pride. How proud you must be to have made your own furniture. I envy you. A great pleasure to watch you work. Thank you for the opportunity. Cheers
Thanks for the comments :)
That workbench is going to last for the next 250 years and beyond. Really great. When I am finally getting around to set up my woodworking shop in the very near future this one will serve me as an example. Thanks.
Most skilled at using a hammer and nails! Great looking bench and I'm sure it will survive a 1000 years.
Thanks :)
I have no idea where you get your ideas from but please do not stop, it gives me something to look forward to.
You teach us all, so patiently, there is no such thing as scrap, just some things and pieces we haven't found re-use for.
The design and function are spectacular!
Thanks Joe :)
10% inspirational , 90% Perspirational . An heirloom from scrap only Jason (engineer, artist ,woodworker , scrapwood sourcer could make .
Thanks :)
I’m speechless, really!!
You should be included in the Guiness Book of Records as the most inventive man turning scrap wood into outstanding furniture.
Watching your videos always makes me feel like I've been given this awesome gift. I feel privileged that I get to watch you build these amazing projects. Thank you.
Thanks :)
I do appreciate the time and effort and skill to create the joinery in your builds.
Good job. I especially like the removable nail and screw bins.
I'm beginning to think you can't speak. Love these videos man. Better than watching TV.
You are the only woodworker I've ever seen who isn't afraid of nails. Just nails everywhere, and it works. Why doesn't anyone else use nails?
They do, they just use brad nails and a gun, less organic though.
@ChristIsLord229 Which organism produces nails, again?
Restoring my faith in humanity, one giant splinter at a time 😁. Thank you for inspiring me and others to keep trying.
Another lunch break with Mr. Pallet. Always calming and I often learn a trick or two.
I've only rcently discovered your channel and I'd just like to say you are an absolutely wonderful craftsman. What makes everything even better is you just get on with it. No chatter, blaring music or silly time wasting gimmicks. Bravo!
Thanks very much :)
I wanna second this… exactly what I wanted to say…❤
Forget the workshop, I want this as a cutting table in my sewing room. Gotta love the drawer knobs, such a brilliant idea and looks great!
Can only describe that workbench one way, ''BEAUTIFUL, trimmed with character.''
Thanks :)
by chance I found you tonite, what I really enjoy about this....no yakking on, no blowing your own trumpet, no pretentiousness, just plain simple down to earth use what I can easily get carpentry. Sir you have another follower.
Thanks Tony :)
I love the creative way he recycles stuff like bottle caps to give the workbench some personality while still being functional and very practical. And stylish. Now he needs a bigger workshop and some extra cash to build it! I'm always waiting to see what he can think of next and he never fails to impress me. Next video here I come!
Wow, what a beautiful workbench!!! This is the kind of woodworking I like.
All you CNC/laser cutter boys eat your heart out.
Thanks K M :)
dude not only makes $$$ selling his work but UA-cam sends him $$$ every month for his uploads. Much respect.
patricia
I love this type of videos. No fancy CNC of super computers. Just a couple of saws and some determination to build something beautiful
The only mystery to me is how there could be only 209k subscribers to this channel and 15k likes on this video after 863k views, something is wrong with over half a million people. Outstanding content and delightful to watch the inventive ways you work the project. Subscribed and waiting for the next treat.
Thanks very much :)
The whole thing is gorgeous but my mind was blown by the bottle caps. Genius!
Thanks :)

Those boxes on the end are such a great idea.
Thanks :)
in the words of Bobby Duke, I want that!
I watch several makers on UA-cam, I love your work. Limited use of power tools and the rest is done by hand tools. No special tools or overpriced tools. I wish I had a shop big enough to do some of these projects.
My thoughts as well, Micheal... A refreshing absence of high cost power tools and gadgets. Nice to see a radial arm saw in use again...
Russ
I've watched a number of your videos and each and every time you amaze me. Your handiwork, your creativity and your careful execution of the work you do is outstanding! It makes me wish I had a quarter of your talent! Thank you for not having loud and obnoxious music blasting in the background as you craft the incredible and useful pieces of artwork!
Thanks very much :)

Just got flashbacks to when a friend asked me to pop over to help him get his workbenches new top on.
When I got there I was a little confused to find 2 of his other mates already there. It turned out the new bench top was made by gluing hundreds of 6" lengths of pallet wood together so the wood grain went vertically. Don't know why that grain orientation was important, I just know it was over 3 meters long, over a meter wide, and weighed well in excess of 200kg. It took all 4 of us because we needed to get it from where he'd assembled it in his garage, down his garden, up 3 steps and into his workshop through a standard sized door. Humphing that thing into place nearly bloody killed us all ! :D
Wow, I thought my bench was solid. That thing sounds incredible :)
@@EpicUpCycling I don't know about incredible, but I do find it slightly odd to see how a hammer bounces on it, like if you were tapping an anvil. I also have a very clear memory of telling him at the time that if he ever moved I'd only help him get the thing back out if it meant I got to use my chainsaw. :)
The frame it's on weighs more than the top though. If I remember correctly, it's got 8 uprights that may have been made from new railway sleepers (They have to be getting on for those kind of dimensions), but luckily he built all that in situe without help. One end of the top has now been routered down by an inch so he could let in a 36x36x1" slab of pig iron as a place for when he needs to do "Serious hammering on stuff". Considering the total mass of the bench before hand, I think, as a percentage of the original weight, the extra mass this added would be akin to if I PAINTED my flimsy little workbench !!! :D
On the other hand, 20odd years on, apart from some oil stains, paint splatters, and a handful of saw/router gouges in it, his bench top is still perfectly acceptable. In that same time I've had to replace more than a few 1" plywood tops on my benches.
Love it, love it, love it. I have begun a pallet collection, it's become an obsession, wondering everytime I see a pallet if the owner wants to part with it, lol. I have made a wheel barrow planter, not exactly a Victorian display cabinet or a dream bench. 😂 perhaps if I keep watching I'll strike out and build something bigger. Thanks for sharing your amazing skills, you never cease to amaze.
I’m so jealous of your skill level and enormous amount of patience but what really blows me away is your thought process and how you think them up. Respect sir.
Thanks Michael :)
LOVE the bottle cap handles. Brilliant and fun!
Over the moon I found your channel can’t beat up cycling 👍🏼🏴🇬🇧
Poetry in motion!
Me: See, this is why I never throw any wood away!
My wife: OK, but when are you going to actually make something?
Lol. Its the other way round for me.
Something my wife tells me....
My issue is to get her to throw crap away.
I feel attacked.....
How many of us are there that are married to this woman? How much Dewalt do you need to make up a lack of (insert flaw here)?
That is a very impressive workbench. Love the use of the bottle caps.
You definitely put way more work and material in to this than I would have. Definitely solid.
I ask for one like you in my life !!!.
I think I’ll show this video to my darling wife and say “See , this is why I never throw anything away that can be used sometime down the road”. Excellent job.
Thanks Dirk :)
You are not the only one who has said those same words.
Good luck. My head still hurts. I remember saying it…. Then not much else ;)
Your Quite the craftsman, I give you credit job well done I’ll be looking forward to your videos.
Your
I had been wondering when this was coming! I’m ready to dive right in, mate.
You're amazing. Love the bottle cap handles ❤
Truly an epic upcycle.
Who needs expensive machinery? Top job mate.
Thanks David :)
He has good machinery!
@@pretty-eyes I’m having a go at the festool army
Excited for the new video. I know my whole family will be happy to watch!
Just taught me to scribe with my sliding square, never thought of it before 👌🏻
Being that I am late to this party, this is the 5th video I've watched of this amazingly creative and talented craftsman! He is just out of this world! I like that there's no obnoxious music blasting while he's working. Just a guy with every tool imaginable and tons of talent...
Yup, really fine design full of integrity! Thank you!
Thanks :)
Incredible what you can build with wood.
I never get tired of watching your videos.
That’s a jointer/planer combo?!? That’s awesome!
What a fascinating little planer/jointer!
Wood ASMR. Most of the other woodworkers have background music and/or voice overs. Just simple wood clank, scraping, and pounding.
Watching this while I work out something of my own to build.
I am always in awe with every project. This one is no different.
I feel like I am watching my grandpa.... craftsmen like this are so rare.
Wow! What a handsome workbench!
You are AMAZING! 🌸kindness matters🌸
Thanks Cindi :)
You should consider making a paid site where you explain your process, your planning and go into detail on each of the steps. It would be an insta-join for me

That is an amazing work bench! I am so jealous. Something like that would be great for a crafters room as well. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Regina :)
This is a work of art. Bottom line. Love it.
Thanks Karl :)
You can literally hear how dry that wood is when you have it in your hands lol, love it.
i saw my notification, i clicked it, full screen. I never even saw the title until i watched it all. Why? because what you build isint important. its the process and watching something come together that i most enjoy about your content.
Also it was fun to guess what was going on the whole time.
Splendid build. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks :)
Holy cow! Just watching from beginning to end absolutely amazed me. To create a piece so magnificent is nothing short of sheer talent. Love to have this in my kitchen as a true work station. It’s so neat and really cool. Cheers!
Thanks very much for the comments :)
Fabulous piece of Upcycling from materials that would otherwise be destained for the scrap heap ...
Thanks :)
that thing is much to beautiful to be left in a workplace... love it !
Thanks :)
There's something about this project that really floats my boat, all the videos are outstanding but I enjoyed this one especially. Hiraeth for the days when I had a workshop and a head full of ideas. Wonderful!
Just when I thought I had seen nearly every scrap lumber style workshop table build, I found this truly amazing video, my first time watching one of your videos and I genuinely enjoyed every single minute of watching this turn into a masterpiece, you are truly talented. This type of content makes UA-cam worth having, thank you so much for putting in the effort to share. GREAT JOB sir!!
Thanks very much :)
Long & short shouldered, haunched mortice & tenons... serious skills my man. Kudos. Nice build.
Thanks :)
I am SO IN LOVE WITH THIS!!!!!!! 💝💝💝💝
you never cease to amaze with your creations, especially when its all just in your head. Great to see old school carpentry coming back into the front line, its so relaxing (for me anyway). Keep up the fantastic work ... cant wait for the next one
Thanks Graham. More coming soon :)
Yet again, amazing, the detail, the patience, ...
Me, as a beekeeper, was wondering what it would look like if you were piecing together a beehive just from scrap and pallets.
How cool would that be. My own beehives are made from stuff around my place as they are layens hives.
There are no rules in creating them and that's exactly what I see in your work, no rules and a grand finale.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks Wendy. I'd love to build a beehive some day :)
this man is my role model
Warm and fuzzy workbench :)
when I saw you putting the door on top of the frame, I was just thinking "no way"... These pieces, the videos and your relaxed style are a blessing and they are amazing to watch.
Thanks Philipp :)
Lovely design, well thought out, love the side containers making use of french cleats, the slots in the middle of the bench for bits of molding is a really nice touch, fair play. Great work as usual!
Thanks very much, Paddy :)
More excellent work from a very gifted and conscientious craftsman.
Thanks :)
always a pleasure these videos
I can't express how exciting it is when I see that Epic UpCycling has uploaded a new video, your content is fantastic, I think I've watched the machinists tool chest and the sewing box 50+ times each.
hey just the video i was looking for :) edit: dude, i love watching you work. im new to this, so thank you for showing us your methods. 18:50 using the textured door in the middle of the table where no one will see the texture - amazing. i love your channel because i end up learning things that i didnt know i wanted to know, as well as giving me ideas on how to do them irl. today i just took off a door that i was going to throw away but will now save. the content youre creating definitely adds a lot of value to the world.
Thanks very much for the comments, Mike :)
If it's a hollow core door (very light) just don't use it for the top top. However, it would make a surprisingly strong and straight base for a solid-core door or solid wood slat top.
I love to watch a craftsman. Glad to see you got a electric drill.
I love the drawer knobs!!
