I hear you. Been riding the test bike for three weeks now and I’ve been really impressed. Rear suspension was tricky to get right, but I’m pretty happy with how it performs now. Up hill tech is insane on it.
I will be impressed when you ride it for year, let's say 5000 miles on it, typical uk mud bath, strip it down incl motor internals, linkage bearings, headset bearings etc and you find no reason for concern. At the moment I trust my experience that shows all 1st gen systems suffer from issues regarding corrosion and the way they affect the motor. For me - buying it at the moment is just asking for trouble. I'm saying that as rider, mechanic and representative (worked for one of brands being sold in UK).

I have a 2020 Trek Rail 9.9 with 2000 miles on the frame a rebuilt/refreshed motor, 85 Newton meters of torque and it weighs 48 pounds. I weigh about 180 pounds and can get over 20 miles out out of it, in EMTB. The revolution is not here yet. Great video thank you!
Unfortunately not Finale. But I can’t complain as Tuscany has some pretty good trails too. Going to be all GoPro tho, as I don’t have a videographer here.
I'll look forward to your thoughts on this bike. All the reviews are on the Pro version and my budget just won't stretch to that. I was also thinking about the Whyte elite 150 rsx as it is down to 5k at the moment. It's a hard call when I've never had a emtb and the DJI motor is so good. 🤷🏻♂️
You’re probably looking at two of the best e-bike available right now. The Amflow has more power, more range and is way more capable on technical climbs. The Whyte ELyte has amazing suspension and handling, but you’ll need the range extender from the get go. Hope this helps?
Great detail dive in here pal. Very interesting to see you check all the geo etc. I changed out the stem and bars on mine to One Up carbon with a Hope 35mm Gravity as it felt a little vague at times. Definitely improved the stiffness at the front. Awesome bike and super happy with mine, the power is fully controllable and tracks brilliantly. Mind I did swap out the wheels and tyres, , brakes and upgraded the fork to the grip 2 damper 😊 Looking forward to your ride reviews. Keep up the great content. 👌
Wow! You’ve really gone to town. Sounds like a great build. Yes, the stock stem is a little flexy, but the biggest change for me was fitting DH casing tyres in a super soft compound. More traction both up and down.
@@MBRmagazine yeah the standard casings are too light for it's capabilities, plus the grip not aggressive enough. I went with Zipp 3zero Moto 2 with Big Betty and Magic Mary. Xx transmission has made a massive difference too. Stay safe pal 👍

However the frame and very impressive motor and system remains the same. In standard form it's still a decent spec and will make more sense to most than the more expensive pro version 👍

Yep, that's dry weight too. Wet weight/trailside is pedals, heavier tires, and sealant...add another 1-1.5 lbs. 21.5 kg = 47.3 lbs + 48 lbs ready to ride! Slim profile, big battery, extra full-powered, amazing remote electronics at $6K = hells yeah!💸 Next version needs 170/170 38 fork/piggyback res shock. I'll wait. Plus, need a 750W max tune for US Class-1.
Hopefully the Amflows will come to Canada soon. They've been getting rave reviews. Also, I'm a bit confused by your accent. Is it a mixture of different accents? It's very subtle.
Someone else mentioned that, so I’ll check it. But equally it could be water coming in through the headset like on any other bike. Bikes aren’t watertight, even ones without batteries. The main thing is that it doesn’t shut down and stop working like the Shimano power button when it gets damp.
really interested to hear your views as you live with it Al, tbh i can't see why anyone needs more than 85nm unless you are so heavy 85 wont get you to the cut off, all anyone talks about with this bike is the absolute power, would be an interesting test to turn the power down to 85 and really compare it - like for like, how it delivers the power, battery life, even better how does it ride in Eco or trail for example compared to the rest. The pure headline number of 105Nm is only really useful in a small window, how is it the rest of the time.... ?
I thought the exact same thing before riding this bike. But the power delivery is so controlled, I’ve been able to climb up some technical sections that I thought were impossible. It’s almost like having traction control. It still blows my mind that it knows what gear I’m in with mechanical Sram shifting!
Good unboxing. So , if you put a 27.5 wheel on the back , don't change the flip chip do you end up with a slacker bike and ower bb ? Can it still be ridden like that ?

Okay. The first thing I need to know are your body proportions. Do you have long legs and a short torso, which is pretty common for someone your height?
This bike has a lot of positive attributes including power, weight and geometry, but one major draw back for me would be the non-removable battery, as I am a full time traveler and in the winter time, may not always be able to bring the bike into a climate controlled environment.
The stem its flexing ?? How on Earth exist something like that ?? Byway , the bike begs for some red part , a red fork , a red stem or red hubs .. very nice the bike in this silver color , i am waiting for the alloy version ..
I think it depends on the model. The Amflow PL Pro that Danny rode had lighter parts, which probably makes it feel less solid and more like a “trail bike”. This one is really capable, well at least once you change the stock tyres.
But thus cassette allows to replace 3 smallest cogs separately. On my ebikes I have shimano cassettes with sram derailleurs and chains - shimano offers 5 smallest cogs for their 10, 11 and 12 speed cassettes.
I don’t think an alloy version is on the cards just yet! Would be amazing though if Amflow could introduce such a powerful e-bike at even lower price points.
Look at the weight for the motor and battery, and the DJI is about 300g lighter than the new Bosch CX (not including all the wiring, mounting hardware, and controls/display) and about 500g less than the Turbo Levo so it’s not significantly lighter. As you say, apply those figures to any popular full fat ebike and you won’t see a big weight reduction. For a big weight reduction (~2kg) you need an SL system, but that comes with less torque and and a smaller battery - quite a compromise. 👍

@MBRmagazin I do descents with more than 300 vertical meters in one go and weigh over 110kg with everything (bottle, clothes, spare tube, protectors). A 36 is too soft for me.
It doesn’t help that I’m running it at full height on the fork steerer. Surprisingly, it wasn’t actually that bad when riding. Only noticed the flex a couple of times. But yeah, I’d swap it too.
Yes. That's what all mid motored ones do. Does that matter Iif you are able to pay 6k for a bike? I use one 12 speed shimano cassette what means 3 x01 chains and 3 sets of small cogs per year. I add 1 chainring to this package. What means it costs 60 for cogs, 120 for chains and about 20 for a chainring. 200£ per year. Is that much? If I can afford a 6k bike without getting in debts I can afford 200 for drivetrain. 4-5k miles on that.

My mechanic told me you need to loosen the battery bolts (water cage) to gain slack on the dropper post cable since they clamp it in place
Makes sense. I just got my knee on the rear wheel and gave seat a good old yank.

I was thinking 85Nm is more than necessary until I started to use 160Nm on Bafang.

Seriously?! Yes, in the UK we run the front brake lever on the right, which is why Americans call it Moto brakes.
Coaster brakes aren't a big thing in the U.K. we've traditionally run 2 levers and the front has always been on the right

That’s a biggie, right! It also means no 1600Wh days, unless of course you have two bikes.

The fork and seatpost angles are off due to the tire profile heights not being equal.
Haha! Like a rear tyre profile can change your head angle by almost 0.5deg. Hopefully you’re kidding!
After you've washed the bike, take the display out and see if water has got into the frame and wet all the back of the display and the battery.

So once you upgrade the tyres, stem and put pedals on, you probably won’t be far off a standard full fat ebike weight.

plus 300g pedals, plus 300g for 38 fork, plus 150g piggy damper = 22,25kg its ok but not a miracle

That stem flex looks awful, if I ever happen to be fortunate enough to buy one of these bikes that stem is going straight in the bin.

Reckon with this bike’s torque you could make it singlespeed! Certainly could get away with a more budget-friendly drivetrain

Great that Maguras levers have 2 bleed ports to allow easy lever swaps
