Jay.
Swizz.
Rubin.
Pharrell.
Timbaland.
All in one studio.
Correct
Only Jay can make this happen
Rubin next year at his house you have to come there lol and he’s in his underwear in bed and the bedroom is the studio with stains everywhere hahha
Funny thing is according to Jay’s story he told to Zane Lowe, Justin Timberlake was done the hall recording 20/20. Beyoncé was coming in and out the studio and Nas came by one time to say hello. Like bro that’s a moment
EPIC
The amount of legendary people in that one room is crazy
agreed
yeah!
is it sad I only know Jay and Swizz beats who else in there
Young Tooks rick Rubin?!?!?!
Yeah i was wondering who that guy with the beard was
legend has it that rick rubin is still laying down in that couch
ha ha ha,fuck that's hilarious!
still?
In?
🤣
lol Fr Fr!!
Swizz, Pharrell, Rubin and Timberland in one room???? SHIT!!!! I know that was an intense session!!
You know....
Derrick ingram Scott Storch is trash? Dude makes everything from scratch...check his resume he is a beast!
Robert Paf I wouldn't call him trash, but he's definitely a mediocre producer. He hasn't had a produced or co-produced hit in like the past 5 years, and prior to that, nobody ever heard of him.
Drumminsince89 check the resume, and check the stuff he did for the roots and with dre. Just because he hasn't been around for 5 years it doesn't make him average...In terms of musical talent he has most producers covered
Tbh it didn't fit Jay's style but tha album was good.
TOM FORD BEAT IS STILL FIRE
Timbaland
Complex Ez Yoooo
been searching EVERYWHERE for that damn instrumental. So good
You know your album gonna be fire when you gotta jesus in the studio
+HufftyPuffty lol nice1
😂😂😂😂😂😂
HufftyPuffty you ve made my day with this comment 😂😂😂
Rick Rubin #GOAT
False image of Jesus
and not one blunt was lit in that room. respect
+Daquan but coke was ...there
+Daquan As far as you know
Drugs are for punks
tre sel Weed isn't a drug it's a plant and if you just so happen to set it on fire it has some effects lol
Bro you really think they didnt spark up? Why else would tim have glasses on?
"The idea is to finish the album and drop it."
well said Jay, profound stuff right there.
what he says right after is explaining the samsung deal that was actually banned by music industry after. But get bum ass comment off
Lol how is that statement profound
because he was ahead of the industry and after this stunt they banned exclusive releases through non DSPs
@@megamafiarecords idiot
lmfao
People forget that because of this album dropping, the streaming of an album and how it’s counted was changed! Hov changed the game again!
Rene Marquez it was a rubbish album stop cheerleading
@@mrocto4839 nah not even
Magna Carter entire album was good in my opinion.
on a production level. I think if you replace Jay with Kid Cudi I he would've killed all this godly beats.
Did this nigga really just say Kid Cudi?
+benja303 damn did he??? BS...Dnt ever say that...kid cudi...big lol
kid cudi?😕😬
Kid Cudi ..... hahaha He did... unbelievable I could cry
THE BEST PORDUCERS IN THE GAME ALL IN ONE ROOM.
And they each have a unique sound too
Wheres spaceghostpurrp
And still manage to make poop 💩
Imagine if they add more Dre and Ye
I see this too! Awesome!
To this day, that Holy Grail beat still goes hard enough to blow out any speaker. Easily one of my favorite instrumentals and one of the greatest that I've ever heard.
Legendary session. Wish it was more footage like this
Look at all the legends in the room damn hov timb rick pharell swizz damn
I don't care what you say, this album was genius. I don't even like rap that much but I used to listen to this on the bus ride home from school all the time during my freshman year of high school. Incredible record!
nah
Yah
Casey Ellington This album is awful and corny
The Lyricism was pretty great.
L
"The idea is to finish the album, and then drop it". No shit Jay lmaooo
MrEscobarr He meant without any campaigning or promotion. Just drop it out the blue. Ivy that is.
BlackFaithProduction.🔥
MrEscobarr haha I was thinking the same thing. No shit Sherlock. These fkn guys think anything they say is inspiring.
Alex He's saying that, as opposed to how most people hold the album even after finishing it, his plan is to drop it as soon as it's done without any major promotion. But you obviously didn't catch that, dumbass.
@ the marccist they know what he meant, Jay's Samsung deal made history, haters just choose to be willfully ignnorant
This album heavily grew on me over time. I wouldn't call this Jay's best album but it's definitely one of his top 5 in my opinion.
lol how many solo albums does he have it’s not like he has 10 or 15 of them
Nothing but positive energy & vibes throughout that Stu.
Someone said " you know album it's gon be fire when you have Jesus jammin on your sofa to da beats" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man at 1:15 shit just got real lol...I wished they kept the same bass on the album
and you found in life experience that you got enough of those things to realize it does not change your life at all 2:20 Rick Rubin summary
0% alcohol
0% blunts
100% talent
100% legendary producers
Fuck is you talking about. Drug dealer who poisoned Marcy projects with crack, destroyed dame dash and the rock, ruined DMX’s career, potentially involved in Biggies hit and murder, and Timbaland is a fucking pill head. You have no idea. That is a room full of devils save except for Pharrell and he is guilty by association. Ya’ll look up to the wrong kind of people.
That dude Rick Rubin smokes
Jay, Pharrell, Timbo and Swizz workin together in one room...this is ridiculous....
Don't forget the biggest of them all - Rick Rubin
And the Rubes, Mr. Rick Rubin
Rickkkkkkk rubbbbbbbiiiiiin how the hell you forget?
Goldville he’s kinda over rated a bit
ginseng 96 Nah he fathered all these other producers
Cant do nothing but win with the people in that room. Salute
yo no lie i would kill to be in a room with the greatest hip hop producers to ever live
holy shit that's fucked up
that holy grail beat is probably one of the hardest beats I've ever heard
jay's problems at 0:37 got me like damn nigga I'm tryna progress through these calculus finals, give me your problems lmao
Jay Z one of the unique ever lived hip-hop artist
the production on the whole album is insane
This is literally the holy grail of producers hands down
omg some of the greatest producers of all time are in one room
That Tom Ford beat is I N S A N E
The Roll Out for this album was amazing.
Man the rollout was so crazy I still come back and watch these videos
Shouldn't be allowed to have this much greatness in one room. Every man in there is a legendary in music!
I love how Rick Rubin is just laying on the couch and vibing lol. Also this is one of my favorite Jay-Z albums and it’s such an underrated one in his catalog.
He's out here with Pharrell, Swizz, and Timb. No wonder his music so good
Don't forget the best of them all: Rick Rubin.
Best of them all? th u smokin?
The only thing he contributed was his couch lying swag.
J Savage um.... DONT FORGET RICK
That's the secret, working with the Best talent & skill to create the Best music products!
Jay Z did exactly what he set out to do with this album.....write the new rules .... He understands that trends are changing and people are consuming music MUCH differently than 10, 20, 30 years ago. Now look at all the big names following his footsteps.
This album went platinum before it even came out!!!
Jay-Z
Rick Rubin
Swiss Beatz
Timbaland
Pharell… All in one room? Damn that’s legendary.
That drop is still HARD to this day.
I want more fire beats like these from Jay
this was a great vid to see all this greatness in one room
Funny story about this commercial.
So in high school, I was in history class, and the teacher was trying to find a video on UA-cam that went with our lesson, and this commercial came up as a ad,
So instead of skipping it, our teacher let it run and we ended up watching this all the way through, and then we ended up talking about the hip-hop culture for the rest of the period, instead of our normal lesson.
Mr. Parker a cool nigga for that. 😂
This was the end of heavy commercial music marketing.
11 years later that album so timless!
I love watching Jay-Z creative process!
no one talkin bout how hard the bass dropped on holy grail lmao
i think they fucked up with mastering of the holy grail song, cause it's sound hella better in this video !!
everything unmastered sounds better than Mastered. compression sucks life out of a record
Not necessarily true
the mastering was on point, it all depends on the system you are listening to the finished production, I have a home recording studio and it banged, and I took it to the car, and it was nuts.
Alex T I believe it has to do with the location of where they are playing these instrumentals at , its a expensive ass studio which consists of super duper high quality equipment, I mean these guys are some of the best producers in the rap game & they have gathered to produce for Jay-Z so everything’s gotta be top notch and straight up clear to listen. The room is most definitely sound proof and the speakers they are using are some of the best quality speakers you can find in market. It is far more higher quality then some budget headphones. I’d recommend buying a good pair of headphones such as Bose quiet comfort or seinheiser’s to get the full on quality while listening to this album. Please, Do not buy those god awful beats. If you own a car , try to play it inside the car’s stereo system, I swear the first time I heard holy grail’s drop I damn near shit myself because it was the craziest thing I’ve heard , same with Tom Ford’s beat especially the part where Beyoncé comes in & the beat slows down sounding super fuckin nasty . I really don’t know what the hell youre talking about but the mastering of this album was done perfectly. 💯
I have to agree. I had such high expectations for that song based on how it came off on the trailer and Justin’s singing just didn’t do it for me. The beat was so insane but I feel like Jay didn’t bring out the potential all the way
mount rushmore of hiphop producers
I love this album
Timbaland has never made a bad song!!!!😘
@G.J. Knights Timabaland is a King maker!😊❤️ Everyone else is getting big on the backs of his music, including Justin Timberlake.
Cause he's never really made any of the songs he takes credit for, but you ain't ready for that conversation. Ya'll been lied to the whole time, that man has been stealing talented people's work for decades and hiding behind NDA and short money payoffs.
You need to research a man who goes by the name of Sound Oracle, Timbaland is the late 90's early 2000s DJ Khalid, it's just been very well hidden for years.
Same as Dre, he was buying beats from real talent for years, that's why Detox never came out cause no one was going to give him their music anymore.
Ya'll got the game fucked all the way up. The only real musician/ producer in that room is Pharell. the rest are frauds, even Rick Rubin, Go back and listen to the Beastie Boys' first album almost all jacked Led Zepplin Records. When The Levy Breaks, The Lemon Song, The Ocean, just like Dre stealing all of the works of Parliament Funkadelic. A real musician like myself knows all those original records and we know that not much more than a loop-up was done to most of them and a rapper spit over the 16 looped-up bars of someone else's creative genius, this was before the lawyers figured out how to sue for infringement.
Consumers of music don't really understand production and getting in on the ground floor before laws are created to deter theft.
Take a minute to go back and listen to Anne Peebles I Can't Stand the Rain and pay attention as you listen then go listen to Timbaland and Missy's version, it is literally ripped and looped up with a rim shot.
There would be no more hits after NWA for Dre if it wasn't for a talented young piano player who started with the Roots and later made Dre what he is today.
That man's name is Scott Storch.
@@jamalfadesemall9275 Wow man. Sounds like you know a lot of history of a few big musicians.
No he’s just reading off of “ somebody “who knows Big musicians that’s all he was doing
Cause he'd be in jail!
I feel lucky for discovering this album only now after 7 years, exactly what I need in this quarantine 🔥
I could watch this for a long time, nothing but creativity in that room - legends of the game
This is the gift that keeps on giving came out on the 4th my Bday the 5th. I'm still rocking it today.
2020 and still as captivating as ever!
Look at the fucking producers in that one room! JHEEZ!
I remember watching this video at least 50 times prior to the album coming out
Loved it When They Finally Got Holy Grail Playin n As it Dropped The Whole Room Was Jus Blown Away By it.. THAT WAS MAGIC!
This is an underrated legendary moment in music
I’ve watched this again and again 😍
Timb is amazing we need more of his work in today's music
I would love to own just one couch rick rubin has laid on in in a session. Those couches have brought more success then 99% of any other couch in history. Lol. Evey time in a studio. Well back in the old days i believe it was a futon. What an amazing view of greatness in one room. Working together as one. Love it
"I put the album out on July forf" 😂
Dwayne Jones fowf
"The idea is to really finish the album and drop it."
I FELT THAT.
Listening to Magna Carta...Holy Grail brings me back good memories. Holy Grail was on radio it was absolutely insane
and this video ladies and gentleman is how you apreciate music no matter how bad the beat people think it is its all about the great work and effort these great producers make music to us. so inspirational
That Pharrell beat was and is 🔥
Wish I could find the actual instrumental to it instead of Remakes lol.
Just only if he would have had Just Blaze and Kanye in this commercial
broooo thats what I'm saying
Wow I remember when I would see this ad constantly when watching youtube vids back in early summer 2013. They were promoting his new album like crazy. Can't believe it's been basically 10 years already..
Some of the greatest producers of all time all in one studio ❤️❤️🎹🎹🎹🥇
I member this... This was so dope. I love little videos like these man....
No blunts, alcohol, naked women, drugs in the room. Just talent and no mumble junk.
Jay, Rubin, timbo, pharall, Swiss beats! We going to call that the DREAM TEAM💯
For 2 straight days, I tried to download this album. 💯% worth the wait.
Timbaland, Pharrell and Jay working on one album, sick!
SWIZZ, PHARELL, RICK RUBIN & TIMBALAND ALL IN ONE STUDIO 🤦🏻 WOW
Still fire 🔥 to this day
The fact it's so many legends in the room an everyone takes time to listen is what I salute.
Jay’s lack of self-awareness in this video is legendary.
Epic album, this, blueprint and reasonable doubt my top 3 jay albums as i can listen to them with no skipping ( black album gets honourable mention though )
Preach 💯
words cant really explain how damn powerful this video is....I have watched it probably 55 times.
So many different sounds. Amazing!!
Rick Rubin is worth 400 million
macguy7900 him and max martins are the silent radio legends
macguy7900 jay is worth more than a lifetime
he probably means he's worth 400M+ but looks like a hobo
macguy7900 by visiting ctrl nu moo
macguy7900 and he don’t even rap
2:30 Jayz writing lyrics...wow

9 yrs later and I still get goose bumps
The Lyrics & Production On Magna Carta Is Off The Chain 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shit sound good asf in that studio but try playing that shit while mowing the yard wearing some headphones.
Lol
rakkfatha All part of mixing and mastering which my friends at def jam know a few things about
Wish could put some head phone they won't let me .
the commercial was better than the album
Facts bro I was so hype for this and then all the beats got wasted 😑
@@devonthedon1 EXACTLY!! I was looking forward to that Pharrell beat.. such a mess
Never was crazy about Jay-Z but that album was great with a lot of memorable beats
