Shimano Tranx 400A - One Year Review

I don't know how it could be any better. I have owned quite a few reels, from different brands, and also Shimanos and I keep coming back to this one. I sit down to talk about the potential that this reel has, and why its my favorite that I currently own and why I see this being their best one yet!

The TRANX 400 is a great reel but you have to know how to use it and thumb control is still a must! Keep an eye on KASTKING for they have just invented a backlash proof baitcasting reel using a unique cantilever auto adjustment system that auto brakes when the spool over runs! It does not shorten casting distance it improves it by controlling the spin of the spool. No more thumbing the reel and no more backlash at all. They may be putting out a Musky reel next year using this system and it will be adjustable as the Tranx has no braking adjustments on the reel. You can have total control of the auto system braking and that is amazing! The worlds first backlash proof reel. They already have that system on the upgraded MEGAJAWS reel and it will soon be on every reel in the world! It is a game changer. The new Musky reel should be out next year I hope, and will I guess be about 200 bucks or less. So I will hold off on buying the TRANX. It is a great reel but it is too expensive! Plus it is not backlash proof! KASTKING is made in the USA! That is another plus for me!
