My Dad's favorite lure was called a Creek Chub. Fat broke back minnow lure. Everyone around him couldn't stand it. He caught a 6 3/4 largemouth bass wid it. Can't find them anymore. He believes a big fish has a big appetite? I use a 12" plastic worm sometimes. Had fairly good success wid it. Anyone ever jigger fish ? About 3 hula skirts wid 3 hooks at the end of a cane pole. Jigg it on top of the water around stumps or logs. It's an exciting strike up close.

At one time, they were all handmade wood lures. I used to make them out of Balsam wood.

They're made from Balsa, so they're not as heavy as most wooden baits.
