We share lures, bait, tactics, and our catches with each other. Someone left their pole one evening and I found it. I got up early the next morning to see if anyone knew who's it was. Sure enough someone described it and I brought it to him. He was in tears because the reel that was on the pole was given to him by his fishing buddy that past away the year before. He offered me money, which I declined, then said " I at least have to give you a hug." That's the only currency I would accept.

Yeah, I have a creek that runs through the back of my property with a bunch of minnows, and crayfish. Idk.... I've never had good luck going after panfish with artificial. A lot of times people are by themselves or there are just 2 people and I’m kind of in their way, fishing off the ramp. I always help people get their boat on the trailer and hooked, so they can pull out of the water safely, instead of the guy running back and forth trying to do everything. And I usually get repaid with bait, I was given a minnow bucket by one guy, but we always have the most polite, fun conversations. Quick story about a fisherman volunteering info to me. I was trout fishing north ga/SC mountains which I have done for 30 years. I was standing in the middle of river with a about the limit on my string and he entered the water and B-lined to me with no concern with my fishing. However, I'm not crying about it because I was standing near the in/out trail. He kept telling me yeah you got "stockers" I don't catch "stockers" and shoving the lure in my face to get a good look at it. Telling me over and over again to get the exact one same color blah blah reminding me that he doesn't catch stockers and all he catches is one. He said," you ought to see the look on other fisherman when I walk by with one fish holding his hands far apart. I'd been polite untill then and kinda just told him thanks and see him later. He finally walked up and immediately started a conversation with my friend which traveled with me. I saw him showing his lure smiled and continued fishing. I never paid any attention and about 30 minutes later my friend whistled loudly over the white water and pointed as I looked. That dude was fighting a fish and landed it quickly and strung it up. He lifted high and showed us asI quickly walked to intercept him leaving and he had the biggest trout I had ever seen in my life. No Idea what it weighs or length. Wasn't close to a record but it was grown. I made him show me the lure and wanted to know the lb line and hook, sinker, mono, what, what? He told me and I don't go after Stockers anymore
