    I used a SW-Motech bag with the quick release ring for years and well it release hard and never wanted to just snap in again. That quick release ring was a real pain to get aligned so my gas cap would pop up before filling. So got sick of the pain it caused and some times it did not latch and bought a LR Ranger tank bag. A friend of mine has a LR tank bag and it works well, he never struggles with taking the bag off, it is really slick with the mag lock system.

      I had the givi tanklok, that wasn't bad but it leaked. To make it easy to fill up with the Ranger I loosen the straps closest to the rider but leave them connected, then I disconnect the buckles at the front and place the bag on the riders seat. Makes it really easy. I used to have the Mosko Nomax and I really liked the multi level storage but it wasn't waterproof without the rain cover. Thanks for leaving a great comment mate. Would you like one of my Buff neck tubes, free of charge, on me?

      @@theboomerangbiker1966 one question, did you trim the straps on the steering column harness? I think there is quite a bit of excess (perhaps to accommodate other types of motorcycles).

    I was considering the SW Motech bag with quick release ring - may have to take a look at this. Good video - thanks 👍

      Hold on if you're set on a tank lock ring system, Lone Rider are currently working on an alternative ring system for this bag. Coming soon...

    Looks like a well made tank bag. How is it riding? Does it seem to be out of the way?

      Honestly don't know yet, it was late by the time I finished editing and publishing the video, so it was beer o'clock! Although I sat on the bike briefly to make sure I could still see the TFT. I'm 6ft or 185cm, so for me the bag could be a bit taller and overall slightly bigger. Maybe they'll make a bigger version...? Cheers, Nick

    Thanks mate for the video. How does this compares to the Nomax tank bag? If I had to pick one today.

    • @theboomerangbiker1966
      @theboomerangbiker1966  2 роки тому

      I sold the Nomax and replaced it with the Ranger so that kind of speaks for itself. I did like the Nomax but the downside of all the different levels of organisation was the lack of actual space for my camera gear and its not waterproof without using the separate raincover. There's a strapless (tank lock ring) version of the Ranger coming soon if you can wait... Cheers, Nick

    Awesome video production quality Nick. Question, do these tank bags and straps scratch crap out of your tank?

    • @theboomerangbiker1966
      @theboomerangbiker1966  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the compliment mate, appreciate that. I've been using the Mosko Nomax Tank Bag for 18 months and it has similar straps but it didn't mark the paint. You could put some clear film under the straps if you're worried.

    I enjoy your videos but find this one lacking in describing the negative features of this product - not balanced review in other words. I own this bag and find it so annoying to have to disconnect the two clips at the front, and remove the bag to fill my tank. The molle system on top is fairly useless as you are not going to attach things to a lid that is taken on and off frequently - give me a map case please. Yes, it is a super high quality build, waterproof, and the mag locks are great. But it is also quite tall and deep when it could be wider and sleeker. There are other better bags which I will be switching to.

    • @theboomerangbiker1966

      @rodjaynes7639 To be fair mate, it's more of a first fitting/install video than a review and at that stage I hadn't used the bag so couldn't really comment. Now that I have used it I agree on some of your points. Agree... it could be wider so it wraps down the sides of the tank or perhaps a little taller. I have used the molle straps to hold a Kriega (sorry Lone Rider guys!) Pouch for my sunglasses and I also slide the arm of my glasses into the molle as a temporary place now and again. Getting fuel can be a pain until you get the technique sorted... I loosen the rear straps (but leave them connected) then slide the fidloks open at the front, then I lift the whole thing back onto my seat. I also have to disconnect the power cable from the cockpit as I charge my gopro batteries in the bag. I'm just waiting on the delivery of the new LR MotoCase and will look at running power to that instead. Only downside will be having to get off the bike to change over batteries and launch the drone. Every 'solution' has pros and cons 😞

    Magnetic Fidlock SNAP buckles will not last long, deal breaker for me, why reinvent the wheel.
