A surprise! We just changed to Motul 7100 10w50... From Motortex 10W50... For couple of years we also had Castrol superbike but seems it at least in your test is not any good...
Tenho uma cb650r no manual manda usar 10w30 pro Honda semi sintético. Qual óleo vc me indica usar motul 5100 10w30 ou castrol 10w30 semi sintético??? Pode me dar uma dica por favor 🙏

Perché non fai dei test anche a fine vita degli oli? Cioè al cambio olio prova l'olio esausto cosi vediamo come si comporta a fine vita....
Capisco che esistono molte variabili da considerare durante l'uso ma intanto si ha un idea....

its sad to see that you stopped uploading videos. i watched all the videos from your channel today. the difference between silkolene, shell and motul was very big. 3.1mm for motul and shell was 4.4 or 4.8mm...while shell is also a thicker oil...their 10w40 is way thicker, viscosity at 100 celcius is 15cm2 compared to the motul that is 13.2 mm2.....i was thinkinf of going with silkolene or shell and you helped me. i hope you are doing fine. you helped me stay with motul 7100 (10w40). i wanted to switch to silkolene and your results showed a difference between the same oils. i have a vstrom 650, V twin. i was looking for a low viscosity 10w40...i will just stick to motul 7100 or maybe even 5100 and not go full synthetic. maybe half synthetic is thicker and better for doing a lot of kilometers. 6000km. greetings from switzerland.

Would you rather recommend this Motul 7100 or Silkoline Pro (10w-50) ? Because in the country where i live, SIlkoline is 2x so expensive as the Motul but is it 2x better ? Thx ... I just found out your vids and i am so thankful for them ! Sorry for my english :D
Both are excellent oils ...
prices often change from country to country, buy the cheapest.

You can safely use an oil with specific jaso MA / MA2 instead of an MB but you cannot do the opposite, you can also use car oil, often these have specific jaso MB.
If you want my opinion, scooter oils are not much ...
Thanks, your videos are educating. But i have a question for a oil expert like you :). I have an enduro bike with 200cc, 4t, air cooling engine, compression ratio: 9.0:1 max rev: 8k rpm (i dont know that matters or not). I searched in internet and read the instructions but didnt find any information about oil. Aside from the brand i really want to know which oil(15w50,10w40 etc.) is suitable for my motorbike.

In an air-cooled engine, especially in an enduro motorcycle, a "thick" oil 10w50 / 10w60 is recommended because the temperatures can be very high.
The higher the viscosity index the better - you’d be surprised of the range of VI between competing high quality oils of the same “weight”. Compare the VI of Motorex Cross Power and Motul 7100 for 10w-60. Motul VI is quite a bit higher, and actually cheaper too
I think you should test the oil at engine operating temperature I.E. 86 to 100C. Because some oil is good at this degree and some doesn't.

200cc to 400 cc 7100 is best

I repeat the tests 2/3 times before publishing the result, because there may be minimal differences between one test and another in the order of 0.1 / 0.2mm.
this test only concerns EP additives in the formula, it cannot judge other aspects.
I know for sure that in cross / Enduro racing motorbikes, MOTUL recommends the 300v as engine oil but the 7100 as transmission oil.
How is it compare with ipone ?

you could do some more cheap engine oils so we can see if there's that much of a difference between an mineral, semi-syntetic and full syntetic oil
In this test the oil base does not matter but only the anti-wear additives
10w50 has more drain interval than 10w40..is it true ??

no it is not true...
simply 10w50 motor oil has a higher viscosity at the operating temperature, it is therefore advisable in case of high temperatures given by the climate or intense use.
@@edogsx it means that using it instead of 10w40 will definately increase the drain interval as it's viscosity is higher than 10w40 therefore it wil loose it's viscosity slowly than 10w40...if a bike recommend 10w40 and we use 10w50 then the drain interval will increase or not in this case ???
@@rohitkaushik3415 if the bike's recommendation is to use 10w40 then use it .. unless you live in a really hot climate, then it may be Ok to use 10w50
But using 10w50 in cold/moderate climate will cause more strain on the bike's oil pump which may lead to it's premature failure since the oil is more viscous and thus the oil pump will have to work harder in order to circulate it throughout the engine at cold temps.
10w50 may have a longer drain period since it will be fully synthetic and thus more resistant, but that's not the only thing that should be taken in to consideration when choosing an engine oil.
test means nothing unless we can see history of all tests and compare results between different oils. you should show a comparison chart at end of the video

Yes because this test is not like a real test. How the oil clings to hot surfaces is one of the most important properties. How it withstands the gearbox crushing nature is another
