- In this video, I talk about how I passed the CCNA exam on my first attempt. I forgot to mention that I used Cisco's Packet Tracer for labs. I did not buy any physical equipment for the purposes of studying.
I used Zoom to make this video.

im currently self studying right now am im really glad you shared the point of dont worry about what you dont know be content with what you do know and keep progressing because its so easy to get lost in the complexities of networking and technicalities of cisco. the same could be said about life dont beat yourself up by what your doing wrong but praise yourself in what you are doing right and how to improve the things your doing wrong.
Great job on the struggle and congratulations on passing your exam. Always glad to hear other people's insight.
Glad it was helpful!
Great content- Thanks for sharing your experience. Your comments are very helpful and inspiring for ppl seeking to take the CCNA.
As you think of more helpful and/or the inspirational content for taking the CCNA please consider sharing.
Great job and congratulations!
I'm a Jose too. I appreciate the video. I plan on taking it when I'm done with my current courses. God bless u Lil bro
New to the channel, but appreciate the way you shared your experience. Just catching this video, but will watch some of your newer ones to see your journey. Onward and upwards!
Amazing video brother. Truly appreciate this. A lot of good info.
Appreciate it!
Thank you for this video. You just helped me get a good sense of direction as to where to start. Highly appreciate it!
congrats on your ccna ...........please make a video about job hunt/job applications/interviews ....after your ccna....thank you
hello, I just got hired for my first IT job, ill make a video after i get used to the environment
I think the PearsonVue practice 100usd exam kit is the same exam kit that comes free with the OCG books. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Congrats
Thanks for sharing your truth.
Finished with N+, and I'm about to take in this journey!
Passed the CCNA and now watching your RHCSA video lol
thank you for sharing your journey. gave me insight
Good video. Subbed. Keep them coming.
hello, i see that you bought the Volume 1, you only use volume 1 only?? Volume 2 was not necessary?
I comes with vol 1 and vol 2. u need both
Part that's killing me is subnetting but I'm going to keep going and go back to it
yeah, try different videos, theres different ways to do it. and whats funny is there were only a few questions that required it. but you do need to understand it IP ranges in a subnet. like 10.0.0.1/24 is a whole different network than 10.0.0.1/27
Read Todd Lammle ccna study guide, volume 2 book chapter on subnetting. He really explains it well.
Hy Jose, I started self study which laptop should I get?
Any!
Between the book and videos what was your primary study source after those first two months? Did you mostly use the video course for topics you were struggling on in the book?
Hi, mostly used Jeremys it lab videos and did the labs.
The books were more for reference after a while
Hi JOSE SOSA,
Thank you for the nice video. The VOLUME 1 CCNA Book you are showing here, is it from Cisco Press publisher ( (Mixed media product) | Released: 10 Oct 2019) or Pearson Education Publisher ( (Paperback) | Released: 01 Jan 2020 ) ? because in Amazon, I can find two books , both written by ODOM and they have huge difference in their prices. So I am confused which book you mean. Please suggest. Thanks in advance. Paramita.
Hi I would like to suggest that you buy hard copy of CCNA 200-301 Official Cert Guide Library 1st Edition by Wendell. It comes as a bundle (Vol1 and Vol2) rather than buying separately as its more cost effective. There should be a local print version that you can buy. The Official Cert Guide Library (OCG) is a useful reference later on as well.
slight addition to above comment. Wendell ie Wendell Odom.
@@muralirao3804 thank you for suggesting that, it's really helpful, 🙏
Great video man! Question how did you review the day before your exam? I feel like I covered everything.
I took another practice exam from Cisco a few days before and got like 60%😢 . the actual day before I just made sure I slept well, full 8hours and skimmed over notes.
The work was done, and made sure I was super positive.
@@josesosa1017 thanks for your feedback man, I passed yesterday 🙏🏾
@@kadeem070 Ayyye congrats!!
@@kadeem070please guide my exam is near
"It's just a lot of information" just wait until you get your ccnp. You'll feel like you didn't learn anything from the CCNA.
haha, we'll see!
@@josesosa1017 Jose, congrats, I 'm an experienced engineer and the way you expressed yourself about your journey to CCNA helped me. I'm currently studying for it. Thank you!
Is it relevant to have this certification in 2023 with the avent of AI?
It depends on what you want to do. Networking is still very much a hands on job. I dont see AI walking into Main Distribution rooms and using the console port to configure switches and setting up patch panels. My current job involves doing that.
Passing the CCNA test is when you study hard, if you can't study or you don't have time for your studies I'd advise you get yourself a help like Mr Riq
I've always believed CISCO exam is not for all but studying, you need God's grace especially for we foreigners
People keep talking about Riq all over Y0uTube, he must be a very awesome help
@@lilanbolt6972 Yes you're correct but remember heaven helps those who help themselves, try studying if you can't study then get yourself a good help
I studied for months and couldn't pass, I guess passing is a blessing
@@chenhuang3696 CCNA might seem so tough to pass but studying very hard is a very vital skill to win trust me

Great video! I love the content! It would be nice if you keep posting :)
Thank you! Will do!
How much salary you can expect after clearing this exam?
No salary expectations, that depends on what jobs are out there
How much salary can you get after you finish high school? Lol
Hey man, what don't u teach CCNA on ur channel? We'll support u ❤️
It's a lot of work to create a course. The audience consideration is important. It's roughly 1:3 ratio. For 1 hour screen time 3hrs of sheer hard work as a minimum.
What test are you talking next?
Im thinking security plus but Im still figuring where I want to focus
I took my Ccna today And failed . I didn’t even finish all the questions .
What happened? Did you spend too much time on specific kinds of Qs??
@@josesosa1017 I spent more time on subnetting questions without looking at the time on screen 📺 but
@@SK-PODCAST yeah, those will get you. Did any timed practice tests?
How many questionnaires in total?
cant say, but most practice exams i have seen are pretty accurate
Did you take the exam in offline mode or online mode?
practice exam?
@@josesosa1017 No! The actual exam. I mean did you gave the exam from home (online) or from a test center (offline)?
@@RishiKumar-nz1tp testing center.
@@josesosa1017 Oh Ok! Was just wondering if they provide any rough paper & pen something for questions like subnetting & all!
Can I passed with 1 week study?
no
Not unless you work with cisco products daily 😂😂
1 week for ccna? 😂 only if you become a doctor in 1 year.
my english is poor, how i can pass the ccna ? 😅
Improve your English first. Even if you will actually manage to get ccna without a good English level you will need that for sure working in IT. Don't be scared, you can do it 💪🏻
To answer your question, study and work experience in IT (information tech) helps
@@lEg0l4z thank you
@@josesosa1017 thank you
@@josesosa1017 math is the same ,i understand a little cnna. what company need one person who got ccna? sorry ,i do not know what your thoughts .
Please answere my questions it would help me
1) how long you took for preparation
2)what's your study resources
3)did you get this feeling like no matter how much you study there is something missing
4) how feel the day before exam , did you feel like you have covered everything or what
5)was the exam hard based on your preparation or easu....
6) when you get result and certificate
7) Last , your overall experience through CCNA
I believe i answered these questions in the video.
Did you watch the video at all?
@@blacksheep924 i guess so , anyways i passed my ccna
@@akkiligirish4419 what would you recommend to study the most?
@@akkiligirish4419 advice me sir. what kind of resources did you use?
Real life, wifi is probably what you are going to use the most. A lot of this stuff you won't really understand till you work with it in real life
That makes no sense mate. Network Engineers do more than just looking at the WIFI speed hahahaha
I agree with this, there are so many ways to design a network and hardware to implement.
(with no IT experience) vs "too much experience"
