Interesting video, but an oyster isn't a crustacean. It is a mollusk

New sub. Great vids, I grew up in New Orleans and love raw oysters. Haven’t heard anyone say “Chalmation” in years. Thanks buddy. I miss being down there. North Carolina has great oysters, but I grew up on the gulf oysters. Cheers.

Pretty ironic under the title "Science of Oysters". They're mollusks not crustaceans.

Ugh. The audio is 17 seconds behind the video. Was the the way the video was uploaded is a lag by youtube?

Throw in the fact that they are GMOs you’ve got a nice mess.

As someone who refuses to eat anything GMO, I wouldn’t touch these genetically engineered oysters with a 10 foot pole.

    Oysters🦪, Clams (|) , Mussels (), Scallops_(\|/)_ , snails 🐌 , Octopus 🐙 are all mollusks. Crabs 🦀, Lobsters 🦞, & Shimp🦐 are all crustaceans

Exactly but Our 6400-mile dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico produces no more O2 for Sealife to exist in 2023. Florida is even worse now.

The first person to crack one open probably didn't think that looks good...... They probably thought if they didn't eat that they were going to die.....and were praying that it was edible. My guess is it was an Australopithecus.....or something similar.

Didn’t know oysters also needed ‘seeds’ to latch themselves onto. Oysters would be a great solution for controlling algae. The shells can be used to create sand.

Oysters are the best solution for improving water quality. Before the shells get ground down, they provide shelter and anchoring for a wide variety of intertidal species.

You want to meet our first ancestor to crack open an oyster? Well, you’re gonna have to go back about 4 million years for that.
