I was there! Megadeth had a lot of sound problems that night, including going completely off for a short period! Still one of the best gigs I've ever been to :-)
Loved it.....was well happy to hear Megadeth was supporting...got separated from partner at the run forward, met up again at the end lol....danced my heart out, one of my first concerts and deffo one of the best x

Then Metallica blown us all away! Fuck yeah motherfuckers!
Little trivia side-note: only hours before this Show Dave had a major fight with Nick over drinking beer before the show. They were than pissed off at each other that day. It was a hard time for Megadeth, even though it was their commercial peak. Watch the interview Dave and Junior did with MTV that night. You can literally see how pissed off Junior was.
According to Nick's autobiography, Dave went to rehab around that time, and more or less forced everyone else to be sober around him. Nick wasn't having it.
@@Nghilifa that's also what Mustaine said in his biography. As he put it: "We were on our peak of success, and here was Nick, willing to throw it all away for a bottle of Heineken".

He was referring to the 1991 Monsters of Rock tour. AC/DC were the headliners, so Metallica (and some other bands) opened fo them. The show at Moscow which you can see here on UA-cam, Metallica was playing on AC/DC's stage, same with the gig from Denmark (Gentofte) in 1991, and a show filmed in Dortmund germany in 1991 as well.
I was on same tour concert (Nowhere else to Roam) and it was in Budapest 9.6.1993, where Megadeth was also supporting act...I remember that Megadeth had so weak sound that you could barely hear it at the middle of completely full MTK stadium ! and when Metallica was on it was so loud that I could feel my inner organs to move , it was insanely powerfull !! I was not angry cause Metallica really played fantastic performance and I was bigger MA fan at the time... But now I like Megadeth just the same and its really strange for me that Mustaine did not complain by at least 50% less powerful sound, but I think it was even more than 50% ! I wasnt on any BIg4 concert, but probably they all got same quality and power sound there ? Could someone comment who was on Big 4 ? sorry for my bad english :)
This day was when i realised at the age of 14, Heavy Metal fans can be egotistical wankers, Im a fan of Megadeth and Metallica, but going to this i was shocked at people shouting fuck off Dave. it really was an odd day for me. To find out even so called fellow Metal heads hated what i liked.
I remember the exact opposite and the crowd singing all the megadeth songs.word for word. There's an interview somewhere too where mustaine says it was cool he didn't have to sing much cos we all were.
Is this the Metallica Nowhere else to Roam tour? If so I was there, right down the front, semi-conscious, regretting the previous nights drinking in the sticky-floored nightclubs of Lincolnshire. I remember being disappointed in the faded jean look that Dave was donning. I was also worn out from Diamond Head and The Almighty's rocking performances beforehand. Come to think of it, I was a wreck. No fault of Megadeth's, but I did not enjoy myself, not even when Metallica came on to complete the day/nights entertainment. Since then, I have come to appreciate Megadeth more than Metallica, only wish I'd kept it together more back in the day
I was there and believe me,megadeth sounded poor due to fact they had their p.a turned down.diamond were average, the almighty rocked and metallica fucking nailed it! Tallica of old
Mustaines issue is he has no character. Otherwise Megadeth could of been whole new level... Like their music, especially Tornado, but they are dull live. I witnessed them blown off the stage by little known support group Pantera. :)
+Jordy Jay 85 Nah, he knows that he made Metallica what they are, so he probably feels good about it. Remember, when they met Dave, Lars was a virgin and James was so shy he couldn't even talk to people. Then they met this dude and he molded them into badasses. So yeah, he's probably good with it.
+Jordy Jay 85 He really didn't. It was Lars who said those things in an interview with Howard Stern. But Dave was pissed because he didn't get enough credit for his contributions. I don't ever remember Mustaine ragging on fans for wearing Metallica shirts though.
