    Nice review mate, most reviews leave out or dont even know about the "tactical mode" setting (tail switch full turbo and strobe)!

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  9 місяців тому

      Thanks mate, important feature! I leave it on the standard setting though. As long as there's one step access to turbo.. I'm happy

    Any possible way to turn off that proximity sensor permanently?

  • @maxin3231
    @maxin3231 Рік тому

    I love this flashlight, I just wish you can turn off the proximity sensor completely. most people wont bother but I use my light for inspection during day light and I need the full power.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  Рік тому

      Yes.. if only. The warrior 3 model before is pretty much the same but without the proximity sensor.

    Great light but god damn i love the warior x3 and p23I too much to carry the 3S. p23I is insane for its size...

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  Рік тому

      Yep that P23i is a serious pocket rocket. Head is a bit larger though so I prefer to EDC other lights.

    Hi! I ordered this in DreamBlue and Golden. Id like to know, how strong is the tail magnet, can it stay on a vertical piece of metal, like Baton3, 4, 3ProMax or Seeker4Pro? I named those because their tail magnet is really strong.
    Edit: to name a weak tail magnet: Seeker 2 Pro.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes it can but has to be a thick piece of metal.

    Honestly if they used the same tail cap as the nano that has a flat edge it would stick to surfaces allot better but it's also a weaker magnet than that light as well

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  9 місяців тому

      I reckon they'll use that flat tailswitch for their next Warrior 4. The mini 3 etc came out a fair bit after.

    This could be a great light but.. you buy the light for the 2300lm TURBO MODE but turbo only last 2.5 minutes then ramps down to 800lm HIGH. Reset turbo it last 1 minute the second time then it will not go into turbo a third time until it’s recharged? Absolute bullsxit! HIGH MODE is a greenish tint 800lm with a terrible beam profile but that’s where the majority of the runtime will be, green tint 800lm. I’ve got 15 year old 18650 flashlights that outperform the Warrior once you take away the 3.5 minutes of turbo.. I returned mine!

      Olight have a lot of conservative features built into their lights, for the average consumer, they probably won't notice or care. I like being able to reactivate turbo, push the light to its limits. At the same time, their designs are very nice and it's plug and play.

  • @DONK0
    @DONK0 Рік тому +3

    I hate that olight is so determined about putting the sensor on all their lights in the name of safety. Just lock out the light people, you don't need baby proofing.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  Рік тому

      Yeah I figure this would work for some and annoy others. I'd like their next model to have an option to permanently turn it on or off.

    • @digaum

      Not a great idea to lock out a tactical light that you might need in an emergency.

    • @DONK0
      @DONK0 11 місяців тому

      @@digaum that's what momentary turbo is for. You have to hold it to stay on

  • @PiercingTheDarkness

    It's not a proximity sensor, it's a light sensor that detects the light reflecting back.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  Рік тому +1

      Yeah I talked a bit about that in the video as I was trying to figure out how it worked. Found that the light was more sensitive to brighter objects and ramped down further away.

    • @PiercingTheDarkness

      @@DarrenYeoYT I got it wrong as well on the Cyansky HS7R, first time using one with this feature. The HS7R allows the user to disable it, at least until you switch it back on. Safe but kind of annoying, especially failing a Turbo runtime test 3 times and scratching my head thinking I'm certain I disabled it!

  • @Studat
    @Studat Рік тому +2

    The sensor sucks. I have this one and the warrior 3 without and prefer the W3 hands down.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  Рік тому

      Would be nice if we could disable the sensor. Even after turning the light off and on again. I think it's a good safety feature but if I needed to use this closer up on someone in an emergency... wouldn't want it to ramp down. Though it does take about 20-30cm for that to happen.

    • @Studat
      @Studat Рік тому

      @@DarrenYeoYT it's strange, you can turn some of the models off all together. Warrior 2 mini, Freyr, Marauder 2. My Perun in the biggest pain, being a headlamp I use in confined spaces it always ramps down.

      @@DarrenYeoYT those 3 I mentioned can be turned off 100%. it's a programming thing with rapid taps ect. But, kills the sensor.

    It's trash. Why are you buying a flashlight? Is it so someone else can make the decision on how bright it should be? Just use your cellphone light then.
