You can disable the proximity sensor on the WM2. The manual does NOT give these instructions. Unscrew tail to disconnect the battery. Hold side switch while screwing the tail back on. Flashlight will come on in moonlight mode. Click the side switch very fast (10-15 times) until the light turns off. Strobe will activate while you're still clicking, but keep clicking until it turns off. To turn it back on, unscrew the tail to disconnect the battery, then put it back together.
The ability to disable proximity is all over the place on these lights. Sometimes it’s a button sequence, sometimes it’s a power on thing… it’s frustrating. I consulted the manual too!
Great video and as others have stated the arial shots are a greta addition. I did hear that thebbew switch is metal and not plastic. So another nice upgrade. I loved the original WM and felt even thiugh the size increase in the 2 was minimal it did really change the pocketablity. So happy to see the return to the shorter profile and uniformed size head width with the body.
Regarding the clip, I'm fine with beam up carry. But I do like the Warrior Mini 2 design for the tail clip slot. I use that for the lanyard connector with the provided carabiner.
7:31 lies, it comes with an adapter you snap on the tail end so you can attach the clip in that direction. This is how I am currently carrying this light. Also, burning your pocket? More lies. It has a sensor to lower the light plus you can put it in lockout mode so it doesn't turn on at all.
When the wm3 launched it didn’t come with the adapter to carry it bezel down, olight got lots of hate for this and changed it to like a month after launch they added the adapter. Otherwise u right bout everything else.
Fun fact, you can disable the prox sensor on the WM2 through a 'secret' mode. So if the annoying sensor is your only reason for upgrading, just look up how to disable it on the WM2, and save some money. The WM3 is sweet either way tho.
12:51 Wait, what?! They kept momentary mode! I played with a WM3 at HQ and it seemed like that feature was removed. The user manual doesn't mention it either. So happy to see it is there!
Just bought two of these a couple weeks ago and they were shipped with a plastic adapter to be able to flip the pocket clip. I use it and it works well
Awesome review, love that drone aerial view! Head up carry for a tail switch light is superior. When the light is in the pocket, you just run your thumb down the side of the light until the crease joint of your thumb gets to the tail switch then bend that digit of you thumb so that the pad is already on the switch ready to go as you’re deploying from the pocket. Would like to see how the output compares to the Thrunite tn12 pro. Still hoping that Olight comes out with an 18350 version of the m2r warrior with very high candela, 70k+, and a traditional beam with spill. Not that projected lumen circle they have had in the past.
Omg yes. I saw the release yesterday and serached for Reviwes and hoped i`ll find one from you and here it is. Thanks for all your awesome Reviews and quick response.
Hey Cheule, I just thought id stop by and leave you a comment. I was going to send you a message on reddit but i think this would be good for your viewers to know. Ive been getting tired of both the hivemind and gate keepers recently, and you are simply not one of these. You're well known in the flashlight community, and whats important to me is that even though 90% of the group on reddit will not be happy about it, if you think a light is good and the rest of the community isnt with it you will still say so, and the same is true if it isnt perfect yet everyone is riding the hype train. I appreciate having you in this community, youve been kind to answer questions i had in the past on reddit, and you are one of the handful of people that insipred me to start a UA-cam and make my own videos. 💯
I still have my old Olight Striker. The one feature I really like is that it can be set to one click strobe. Three clicks is still pretty quick, but one click strobe is better for tactical use.
Great review and comparison, just what I was looking for! Already got a Mini2, and I'm bouncing around the thought of getting either a Mini3 or a W3S from the summer sale. Considering the old M2R Warrior (which I sold) was the love of my life, I might have to get the 3S.
I EDC 2 Olights lights. Because I require 1 to have a tail switch to go with my firearm. And the second is a baton 3 because the flat magnetic bottom is the feature I use every single day. Having what is basically a portable flood light is super important for me to EDC. This new warrior mini 3 is the perfect light I always wanted so I could just EDC a single light.
Another great review and comparison. Love the updated emitter color. And the new overhead shots are a fantastic addition. One thing not mentioned are the accessories, or comparison as a tactical light. Olight no longer includes the tactical hold Oring carabiner, which I think was an important component on the WM2 as a ‘tactical’ flashlight as it adds a more confident hold when using this smaller flashlight in hammer fist orientation. The Warrior S3 doesn’t need the ring is it is thicker, longer and feels great in hammer fist orientation. I wonder if the new WM3 is just too small now to really be considered tactical, even with the granulated bezel and new tail switch. I still want one though…
not sure about more secure grip but the ring on it means its easier to do other things with your fingers while you still hold the flashlight, so yes, is a big thing for a tactical flashlight, and the warrior mini 3 also looks too small, the mini 2 is on the small side already for being a tactical flashlight if you have large hands. For me the mini 2 is the perfect balance between being usable for self defense and still easy to carry without having to wear clothes with big pockets.
The only thing i dislike about my Warrior Pro is that it doesn’t tail-stand reliably. I’ve used it two or three times now as a torchiere lamp to light a room, & it's great, but tips too easily.
Great review! I think the non-optional head-up carry is to prevent pocket burns. Seems like a shrewd thing for a flashlight company to do. It's does mean this light absolutely won't work for me though. While a magnetic tail won't pick up metal from the environment in a head-up carry, it absolutely will draw out anything metal in your pocket every time you pull out the light. That's a big deal breaker for me. I still LOVE my Warrior 3S, so this one is an easy pass.
The new shots are amazing, it offers a very nice pov. Just a little tip, in the first part the overhead isn't synchronized with the main video. Other than that great review and comparison as always
I held off on buying the Olight Baton 3 Pro Max because I wasn't too keen on the battery size and the XHP50.3 that it's based on. This Mini 3 with an SFT40 is an automatic win for me; the 18650 battery is just an added plus. If anything, this might dethrone the Thrunite TN12P.
I have been carrying baton/warrior mini series for years now I never knew about the triple tap to strobe. I guess I never paid attention to the instructions. And like you say, the clip position is a deal breaker for me, personally. I like putting on a paracord lanyard that acts like a belt loop, and very few lights have space for that to fit securely.
It's SO CLOSE to my perfect bag/backpack/purse light I just wish it had a sleep timer. Sticking with my baton 3 pro for now, but I'm definitely gonna lookout for a sale.
Just discovered your channel searching for Warrior Mini 3 info. Was that a drone camera on the outdoor shots ? You took flashlight reviews to the next level with that ... instantly subbed !
I have a baton 3 pro max and I don't care about carrying it bezel side up because it doesn't have a tail switch. If you make a "tactical" light with a tail switch, and don't include a way to reverse the clip and carry the light bezel down, that's an automatic pass from me. I want to pull the light out of my pocket and have the tail switch right by my thumb ready to go as soon as I pull it out of my pocket. If I have to carry bezel side up, I have to flip the light around out of my pocket to get access to the tail switch. Aggravating.
Another excellent review, and the overhead views are kickin, as others have mentioned! Great community and lots of great comments in here! I find myself concurring with You on all points. I always ‘come back’ to my Warrior 3s; it’s just a great light. You might want to check out the new PD40R V3.0 Fenix light. 3000 lumens at around 500 meters, with a newly revised mechanical rotary switch. It hasn’t even shipped yet, but might make for a good video when it does? Take care 👍✌🔦
I feel like the only flaw is the pocket clip. That really made my mini 2 my favorite. O well I think they did this to be more uniform. Mass produce the Same clip between multiple models. Makes sense. Still a bummer
As always, a great review, even though you didn't feature tactical mode, AGAIN. 😜 I like the new drone shots and I liked that other darker location that you featured in your Imalent SR32 video. I love the Warrior series and was really looking forward to the WM3, but the non reversible pocket clip and no NW emitter option really disappointed me. I'll wait until the WM4 comes out and see if Olight gets it right.
@@cheule I guess that's why the reversible pocket clip isn't a deal breaker for you. Having a light with a tail switch but not being able to deep carry it button up is foolish. Hopefully users read their manuals and discover the 2 different options for tail switch operation. Olight didn't even include the tactical option in the early release model.
For a "tactica" light turbo/strobe would make more sense instead of medium strobe. Olight had the turbo /strobe setting all the years I dont know why they changed this. Also I dont understand why they go back to a none reversible clip. With this clip they could have made two slim grooves at the tail instead of one broad. This might even would be an interesting design. Beside this very good upgrades but I think these two points killed the WM3 for me.
Olight makes great looking and fun lights. However, a few things Olight absolutely needs imo: USB-C charging port concealed in the sleeve. Ability to run on non proprietary batteries. Possibly even duel fuel options like 2x cr123 with 18650 lights.
The light from the SFT40 diode does not have such greenish shades. I have a Wurkkos FC12 with this LED and it gives a nice light. There are no darkish or yellowish shades like SST20, 40,70.
Clip not being able to rotate 360 is a dealbreaker. I rotate the clip so the button is sideways so when it’s in my back pocket it’s less likely to be activated. Otherwise that looks like a great light.
I don't mind the carry orientation...I do mind the fact that it's not true deep carry in the head up position. Looks like a good 3/4" will stick up out of the pocket...bummer. The tint looks worlds better. Contrary to some flashlight enthusiasts, I actually appreciate both warmer and cooler temperatures, depending on the task at hand (I have lights that range from 2700k all the way up to 7500k), but the awful tint on most of my olights gets old really fast. If it weren't for the clip, I'd pick this up to replace my warrior mini 2 just for the improved tint.
wow, this was not on my Radar. They made some really good changes, the SFT40 is my favorite emitter. I dont think it can replace my weltool t2 as an edc tho, i dont want to miss that 40k cd and weltool quality is just the best imo
I love olights but they are not in my work edc because there is no glass lense on the optic, i work as a mechanic so dirt, sand, oil and all that good stuff really scratches the optic
6:30 the reason why the mini 2 is still my edc. I own a mini 3 and tried it for a week. couldn't stand the non-reversal clip. Kinda sucks because the mini 3 is a better light but not comfortable or convenient to carry in my opinion.
I have the early access one and am passing on the ones in the sale. I have WM2 and Warrior 3S and this doesn't do it for me. I will most likely get 1 or 2 down the road in other colors.
So you actually can reverse the clip on this light, inside the package is a little plastic black clip that you attach to the opposite end of the light and then attach the clip to black plastic piece.
The side switch on the warrior Mini 3 is stainless steel not plastic, also the warrior Mini 2 proximity sensor can be defeated all you have to do is double press again and turbo stays on no matter what's in front of it.
I want something like this but I just want the side switch to switch from white to red light sooo baaad. No turbo, no strobe, no cycling through modes, nothing. On/off and white/red. I have been hunting for something sturdy I can mount on my rifle for that exact role (I have to hunt coyotes off my property and it's good to be able to run red light when you need your night vision). So far I've found the Coast PX20 which is nifty for pocket or a glove box light but it's $20 bucks, has a bad light switch design/location, and is pretty fragile (it'll crush in your ring mounts to the point of not operating over time) or the Fenix TK25 which is better in every way but it's got a much bigger head and kinda clunky operation.
I have the warrior mini 2 AND warrior mini 3. The warrior 3 isnt better its just *different*. The warrior 3 beam goes slightly further out than the warrior 2. However, the warrior mini 2 has a wider beam so it illuminates a broader area. Also warrior 2 has longest runtimes of these two. I own several olights like the seeker 3 pro, warrior x turbo (which is huge but has a 1000 metre beam like a darn lighthouse) the perun 2 headlamp, baton, the freya, the marauder etc. As someone who owns several, my favourite 'all rounder' is actually the 'warrior x3'. That one is quite a bit bigger than the warrior mini, but it isnt huge. It sure wont fit in your jeans pocket BUT it isnt too big for a coat pocket (and it has a belt pouch). The warrior x3 is a compact medium sized torch but can throw out a 500 metre beam and is a real spotlight.
In a building or in the streets, the warrior mini or baton are perfect. However, I find for big open woods or a beach they are a bit too small. I have walked home in the countryside with the warrior x3 and it is pretty amazing for that.
Just got a mini 3 ,it gets so hot i can t hold it for more than a minute.has anyone had this problem? Itried to do a return but can t find the numbers they want to return the light.
I expect you mean on turbo or high? Not only does a lot of heat produce on those modes, but the battery drains quickly. I use those modes sparingly, and mostly stick to medium or lower. I like knowing turbo is there for a moment or two if I need to see something really far.
The beat review, even better than the official comparison video. I got all the information I need. So, subscribed. And I am waiting for the warrior 4 to be released, hope to see your comparison between the 3 and 4 in the future!
I own the same and mine has a broken sensor and always shout down in limited mode. I did send back and the service says all ok and sensed back. Now I have a expensive flash light which is worse as a cheap china copy. Hands of this flash light!
You posted this to another of my videos as well. I’m dubious of your claim. I find it extremely unlikely that you’ve had the exact same issue on two completely different models of Olight (Warrior 3S and Warrior 3 mini) as their sensors are completely different.
For those of you who may not know, they are now sending clip adapters so you can carry the other way if that's what you want to do. Personally for me, I Don't Really Care One Way Or another. But there are clearly some of you who absolutely hate carrying the optic up..... so now you can carry the other way!
I have the Arkfeld, baton 3 premium, x3 perun mini headlamps, baton 3 pro, Maurder mini, seeker 3 pro. Got them from watching your videos lmaooo. Any other recommendations from olight?Besides the warrior 3S cause that’s the next one I’m getting when the next sale happens.
WHOA a mini 3?! Sign me u... might have to wait a while. Flashlight and multitools have made a massive dent in my spending wallet. *Edit* That tail switch is a game changer! Wonder if it'll be more resistant to metal debris getting stuck in the switch?
@@cheule yeah, I don't really mind either way. The new tail switch is enough to make me excited for the light anyways. The new clip is annoying because it's a straight downgrade, but other than that, this new light is basically the perfect Olight.
Does the Warrior 3 Mini have the timer auto shutoff features if the proximity sensor is triggered? Also, what are the modding prospects for the Warrior 3 Mini? I heard it's predecessor had some hope for modification and the high CRI SFT40 emitters give me some hope I can make mine more suitable for a daily carry. Wonder what your thoughts are for such a project.
This light appears to have the same easy to remove bezel ad it’s predecessor, just use strap wrenches. I haven’t don’t it yet, but I don’t see any issue.
I will say this tough… and I say this with my love in my heart for Hank’s lights (of which I’ve had over 50), but a small drop on to a hard surface is enough to kill most of them. So that’s why I don’t really feel Hank’s lights are in the same league as Warrior 3S (and then add on top of that the complexity of Anduril). They’re for different audiences IMO. Both great. (Also I have a bias toward singles versus triples and quads).
@@cheule I dropped my hank off a balcony 20 feet up just a few weeks ago, drop it on cement semi often cause I’m clumsy and mine’s a trooper. Nothing wrong with it
I like it a lot bit I refuse to buy any edc items that require a special non c charger. I sorry olight get with the times the charging wars are over and C won.
I’m not defending Olight when I say this, but you might find it interesting that their custom battery is how they’re able to have a two stage eSwitch tail switch on this model and many others. I am about to release a Nitecore P23i review shortly, and they have a custom battery for the same reason-to not require an inter tube sleeve that some other manufacturers use. Again, not defending the practice, just pointing out that the custom battery solves an engineering problem, it’s not just to be proprietary.
@cheule I don't care about the battery what I care about is that I can't charge it in the field without bringing a special cable. Every one else is switching to c. Beside C charges faster and is better for the environment than magnetic charges because magnetic chargers take more electricity to charge the same battery as opposed to using a cable.
Apparently there is a hidden undocumented way on WM2, disconnect battery tube, hold button and reattach battery. I have not tested this ok either model.
@@cheule I saw this which seems easy enough: "However, if this feature isn't your favorite, it can easily be disabled by double-pressing the side switch within 5 seconds of auto-dimming." Though I thought I remember something about what you mentioned too. So maybe there were two ways.
I did that recently too. For others reading this comment: While screwing the head back on, mash the button 10+ times rapidly until the light turns off.
Giveaway! And i freaking hope they drop the price on their light because wtf,not that much more other than PWITTY CULURS for tripple the price of other comparable lights
Their sale prices are still what it should be normally, just got a wurrkos wk35 for SEVENTEEN doll hairs, reverse charging, and no proprietary batteries, like i say colors and I guess magnetic charging, what so they offer over regular lights
The review I've been waiting for! That aerial view is such a great addition. 👍Your videos are top notch! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for your kind words!

You can use the clip tip up or down, that's why it's two layered
@snk0210 yes but in this orientation it's impossible to deep carry bezel down.
Not sure removing options is the best for consumers.
@cjames9320 I just recieved mine, they've included an adapter to deep carry tip down. Pleasantly surprised!

Wow, very impressive video take it to next level explaining on a different view at night " looking down " from 100ft up" 🤯
Glad you enjoyed it! (60m to be exact, so more like 200’!)
I love olights but they are not in my work edc because there is no glass lense on the optic, i work as a mechanic so dirt, sand, oil and all that good stuff really scratches the optic
Fwiw, you can scratch the optic a lot and it will have negligible effect on the beam.
6:30 the reason why the mini 2 is still my edc. I own a mini 3 and tried it for a week. couldn't stand the non-reversal clip. Kinda sucks because the mini 3 is a better light but not comfortable or convenient to carry in my opinion.
Just got my wm3 and it came with a couple clip adapters to carry the other way if so desired 😁
I have the early access one and am passing on the ones in the sale. I have WM2 and Warrior 3S and this doesn't do it for me.
I will most likely get 1 or 2 down the road in other colors.
The new tail switch is worth the price of admission alone. Good review!
So you actually can reverse the clip on this light, inside the package is a little plastic black clip that you attach to the opposite end of the light and then attach the clip to black plastic piece.
Yes, the released that after I made this video. I have a separate addendum video on the topic.
I would buy this and the OD green only because of the colors
The blue fade into black is stunning.
@@cheule I agree
I love it!
The proximity sensor can be disabled on the warrior mini 2. I turned it off on mine.
Looks good. I am thinking about the baton 3 max because I was looking for more flood. But this looks good for the throw.
The baton 3 max is a great light.
@@cheule big sale starts soon 😁
Great comparison. I have the Mini 2 and love it but the Mini 3 looks awesome too
Look how they massacred my boy with that clip placement...
😂
You can reverse the clip on this light
@@billymartin4310can you reverse it? Looking at the flashlight I don't see the grooves to place it...
Great depth review.
But still can't replace my 175° beam angle edc light Wuben D1
This is a very good analysis.
Great review dude.. it's because of you that I bought baton 3 pro max and warrior nano which I love! Maybe warrior mini 3 next? Haha
Awesome awesome review. Very detailed and critical on some points. I love it! 😮🎉
Have you seen the Wurkkos TS10?
The beat review, even better than the official comparison video. I got all the information I need. So, subscribed. And I am waiting for the warrior 4 to be released, hope to see your comparison between the 3 and 4 in the future!
Thanks for the sub!
The warrior 4 with this new switch and prox sensor setup is gonna be siiiick. I'm personally looking forward to the Warrior X4. Same reasons.
Big issue with head up. When I carry other electronics in my pocket, I am worried the magnet is going to ruin them.
The magnet at the end of the WM3 is safe for electronics.
Good review. Looks like Olight made a really good flashlight. Does it have a timer by the way?
Nothing was mentioned in the manual.
I’m thinking about going for the warrior 3s
The warrior 3S is an excellent light. One of my top picks!
The mini 2 is a glass lense. They made a big deal out of that when it launched.
My mistake then! By really one less element just means less to break and more light transmission.
I will say I disagree on the 3s’s form factor, I carry an Emisar D4K and my dad’s 3S is absolutely massive in comparison
Nothing wrong with it
I feel like head down carry scratches the lens on all my lights. My arkfeild first gen I can barely see the laser it’s so scratched.
I was told the side switch in the new mini 3 was aluminum not plastic. is this true?
It is!
That color is badass
Agreed!
The clip orientation makes it a no-go for me.
I thought there was a way to disable the proximity sensor. Maybe it's just in the Warrior 3S where you can?
Apparently there is a hidden undocumented way on WM2, disconnect battery tube, hold button and reattach battery. I have not tested this ok either model.
@@cheule I saw this which seems easy enough: "However, if this feature isn't your favorite, it can easily be disabled by double-pressing the side switch within 5 seconds of auto-dimming."
Though I thought I remember something about what you mentioned too. So maybe there were two ways.
I turned off the sensors on all my Warrior Mini 2s.
I did that recently too. For others reading this comment: While screwing the head back on, mash the button 10+ times rapidly until the light turns off.
I'm torn between this and the Baton 3 Pro Max since they are the same price. Which would you recommend overall and why? 🙂
The clip is double sided so why it cant be head down in your pocket
Only because the light would stick out like 1.5” which I feel is unacceptable.
The side switch on the warrior mini 3 is metal not plastic
I stand corrected!
@cheule I've seen a lot of people say it feels like plastic tho. I'll find out in a few days
Have you ever tested the run time in any Olights while in strobe mode?
Not once haha.
That color is sick. I'm getting one lol
So i'm right in saying the warrior mini 3 is compatible with the OLamp..? Love that OLamp by the way..cool Lamp..✌️
the button on the warrior mini 3 in metal. Isn't it?
It is, I misspoke
Wonder if it will withstand a drop on thw plastic end
Definitely better than if it was glass.
Why no testing on the magnet?
It works!
@@cheule The WM2 magnet sucks because it can't hold its own weight horizontally, but I guess I'll take your word for it.
Isn't the clip designed to be used head up or head down?
Will the heads and body swap between the WM2 and WM2???
Yes
Pocket clip on the mini 2 was awful, had the flashlight fall off more times than I can count and almost lost it for good.
This one is pretty hard to pull off, maybe you’re on to something….
Good review. Thank you.
Nice light, bad clip. 👍🍻
I just can’t do head up pocket carry. That’s a dealbreaker for me.
👍
Bros lighting up the whole block 😂
That’s how you know it’s good.
I still carry the Warrior Mini 1. Havent burned a hole in my pocket, yet 😂
Your video is superb. It's great. I love it
Many many thanks!
@@cheule Hello, my friend. Interested in working with me? My product also has flashlights that require video evaluation
Is there any reason you couldnt swap the emitter for a NW option like a nichia 719 or 519A?
719a is 6v 3030, this is a different voltage and emitter die size. The 519 is 3v, but 3535. This is 3v 5050.
great review!
Giveaway! And i freaking hope they drop the price on their light because wtf,not that much more other than PWITTY CULURS for tripple the price of other comparable lights
Only buy it when on a monthly sale.
Their sale prices are still what it should be normally, just got a wurrkos wk35 for SEVENTEEN doll hairs, reverse charging, and no proprietary batteries, like i say colors and I guess magnetic charging, what so they offer over regular lights
