I know how long of a day it is, I usually have to go with my daughter twice a year to see all the doctors. Although lengthy it’s better to know the progress that my daughter makes and get suggestions from doctors if needed. Regardless thanks for the video, makes me feel like I’m not alone!

It started out as a pretty typical medium sized community hospital that grew into a major level 1 trauma center over my tenure. So I worked everywhere from the general care floors, ICU, ED, Blood Gas Lab, PFT lab, special care nursery. While I truly miss the patient interactions I don’t miss anything else!
It is awesome you are proactive about your health and are able to take the SMA drugs. My best friend had SMA T2 and passed "in the presence of COVID" overnight 2 years ago at 57 years of age. She lived a very fulfilling life and broke barriers all the time in what she accomplished. Unfortunately she was not able to get on the SMA trial (she even tried to come to Canada for it) or drugs when released. So as Shane indicated in the video we did see the 1% decline a year. Shane shatter all the proverbial ceilings you run into! Take care.
I was the nurse for a little girl that got the trial at 6 weeks…she is able to self propel in her wheelchair and transfer. So proud of her…she’s 12 now.

Several years ago, we had just bought a German Shepherd puppy. My husband and I were arguing over names. The movie Shane came on TV, we both looked at each other, and said, let's name him"Shane". And so it was.😊

I have COPD. I have had several PFTs (pulmonary function tests). I recognized it right away, the nose plug gave it away. It is amazing how fast breathing and holding your breath can exhaust you. Glad to hear it went well and you had a good date night.

Do you thinkyour improvement is not only the medications but life style. A combination of being in a loving relationship, getting out and about and actually living life. You both seem to have found that rhythm that suits you. You don't let your disability stop you from having a go at and adapting where you can.
