Just a tip, when doing the fair -> dash attack if you have your c stick to tilt attack you can use the joystick and c stick for an instant dash attack. Ik palu and villager are different but that trick helps me do fair -> dash attack with her so
Here’s some tricks for Villager mains: You can actually hold B while using balloons to recover and it’ll be a slight bit more as effective than mashing. If you get launched and are about to fly off stage, try to side-B. Using Lloyd Rocket in midair will stop you completely. You can pocket your projectiles if they are reflected (Villager or Isabelle works) but Lloyd Rocket is the most possible one because of almost no delay.
Another combo any of you villager mains out there would like to try to use is one I made up that can kill pretty easily and is also an awesome way to got a stock off your opponent. This combo is difficult to hit but it’s worth it if you can. First, use your down special to plant the tree sapling. Then, wait for your opponent to come near it and try to bury them in the ground With the down smash near the sapling (the closer the better). While they are buried, water the sapling so the tree grows on them, dealing a good amount of damage and kills as low as (I think) about 70% (also depends on who your opponent is and what stage it is). It’s especially a good way to end a battle

I have bought smash recently and when I first saw the villager (in other game play) I loved him and wanted to be my main. This video really helped me because I was using the villager with only the B moveset and the mid-air shot
My college didn't have enough people for their smash team, so I joined since I've played causally before, when I was younger. Needless to say I felt super out of my league, but this video was super helpful, and hopefully I'll use some of these combos in tournaments!
Remember that you will be able to out range most of your opponents and because you can recover so easily, don’t be afraid to chase people offstage. Good luck!
Here’s a nice little grounded spacing tip (this only works if you have c stick tilts) if you want to approach safer when you run at the opponent turn the direction stick to the opposite direction and do a forward tilt with the c stick it will stop you and do forward tilt out of a run I think is us useful for fighting shorter characters like pikachu
Whenever I play villager, I always pick the "stoned" one, and I only use the axe. I've had a few walk-offs when it works, it terrifies people. I only use the rocket to get back onstage, but it's full-on Splatterhouse-style otherwise.
this is a Villager tip: d-smash, jab, f-smash. they can't escape it unless they are unburied and you can sneak in an extra jab at higher percents. it kills really well too.
Back throw is usually a pretty reliable kill option once you get to higher %. Forward and Back air have decent knockback so it’s good option off and on the level, especially when edge guarding. The bowling ball kills so ridiculously early that it stuns me some times. Plus since your down smash can bury opponents, bowling ball is a good follow up. You can even catch an opponents recovery with the ball off the level. I also think down tilt is a good way to get an easy kill because the move is very deceptive when it comes to spacing. I hope this helps 😄
@@jalphasmash4176 yeah I got 0 to 160d by that today it only stopped because the Villager decided to finish the combo. That let me learn auto SDI is terrible in ult. I did do a major comeback and win tho:)
Villagers moves are so delayed... i was playing pikachu and i never hit first like once.. its bullshit . Also half the time i down tilt i just end up digging with the shovel like wtf...
I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure Pikachu is one of villagers more difficult match ups so I can imagine it wasn’t a very fun game😅 idk if this would help with your tilt attack situation, but if you wanna guarantee a tilt attack you can turn your c stick to tilt attacks in the settings. I don’t personally have my settings like that, but I know plenty of people who do and find it much easier 😁

You can confirm against corrin at very low percent of you have his neutral b pocketed. you get the down smash burry then stun him with the projectile(also works with zss and pac man) then after stun you hit em with an upsmash/forward smash depending on the projectile you stun him with.

The tree drops a wood chip that can be used as a projectile or pocketed to be used latex
