Okay, I KNOW I should have been working with all my current GoT projects but I have like a half dozen vids which are half done and I needed to edit with something else for a change. xD Plus, it was time for another Spuffy video (At least one per year because this two just shared one of the most complex and wonderful love-(hate-)relationship with such a strong development that I've ever seen on TV.)
I also wanted to use this song FOREVER. Even though the editing looked much better in my imagination. xD But I wanted to show their devotion with one another. Because I think BOTH suffered a lot and the way the came to care for one another (season 7 with all the feels considering the lyrics "To Hold You When The Sky Falls Down" :DD) is just such a strong bond.^^
Actually it's not a special edit because I created this out of a mood when I had nothing better to do. (Which doesn't mean I wouldn't have enjoyed making a new Spuffy tribute. ;DD)

They were so perfect for each other. Spike loved her *without* a soul. When Angel went back to being “Angelus” , he was a fucking monster. How loving and compassionate Spike is *without a soul* is amazing. She didn’t see it until it was too late. Waited to the moment right before his death to finally tell him “I love you.”
So true! A part of Spike always continued to care even without his soul. He even kept his promise to look over Dawn when Buffy was gone - something soulless!Angel never would have done anyway. Also Spike was such a cute dork back when he was still a human while Angel also just behaved like scum. It's like those behaviors were kept alive in vampire form.
At least she truly meant it. I wished Buffy would have realized it sooner but then so many dreadful things happened between them and she really tried not to fall for Spike for so long. It's just so frustrating how it ended looking at how much he loved her. They really deserve to be together and happy.
DarkEleni ugh, I know, right?! I know some people say it’s silly, but it really still bothers me! Lmao. Spike while he was human was PERFECT. I can’t believe how horribly he was treated. That Cecily....how *dare you* . He was literally *perfect* . So sweet that he STILL had the ability to love even after becoming a vampire and losing his soul.

In the comics the two eventually figure things out, with Buffy coming to the realization that he isn't just her best friend and partner but that life without Spike would be an empty place. Of course it takes Dawn and Willow encouraging Buffy as well as Xander cheerleading Spike to take a chance.
Dawn: "Holy pot and kettle batman! What about you and Spike? I'd KILL for the easy, fun, flirty, sexy, best-pals thing you two have!"... "I swear Buffy, sometimes I think you don't really want to be happy."
Willow: "She does have a TEENSY, tiny little point."
Buffy: "Just FYI. You guys SUCK at girl talk." *Walks out the door to find Spike and go slay something.*
I just watched the last episode of Buffy yesterday and I liked his smile at the end. It was all „bring it on“ and he looked happy. As if he was finally at peace. James Marsters is such a great actor.
I love both their character development in the later seasons. Buffy got a darker side and Spike more depth. They became so complex characters that balanced each other perfectly. It wasn’t a healthy relationship, but yeah, what does anyone expect from the pairing of the slayer and a vampire. All flowers and sunshine? I wouldn’t want that kind of relationship in my life, but I also wouldn’t want to have her job. It is fiction and thanks to the great writing, funny dialogues and hot af chemistry it is fun to watch and I will ship Spuffy till the bitter end. I just restarted with the first season and there is just missing something between Buffy and Angel. I know he is supposed to be this tormented soul, but I’m just counting the episodes until „school hard“.
So true with everything here! Buffy and Spike's relationship also felt more mature. Her and Angel seemed to remain in this "fairytale-wishful-thinking". As great as Whedon wrote the characters (and he did, the show is still one of the best things televison ever offered), I just don't like the whole "first love stays forever"-trope the show sometimes delivered whenever Angel returned. Needless to say, Spike as character is WAY more interesting. :D
I see a lot of talk in the comments about Buffy waiting so long to realize she loves Spike. I've never thought that. The moment in that church when she finds out what he did, she knew she loved him right then and there. They had just been through so much and their 'relationship' in season 6 had been so unhealthy for her, and that's the part she's scared of and why she takes so long to acknowledge it. But once she gets him in the house and sane again, he takes priority over everyone else for her. Her 'other mission' all season is saving the soul he fought to get back. She sells that to the group as him being her strongest and most loyal ally, but that's not what it's about.
I'm currently rewatching season 7, and Buffy definitely loved Spike long before she admitted it to him, the way she fought for him, didn't want him to leave, refused to kill him and just the way she looked at him. I can honestly not get enough of them

You would also like Eric ("True Blood") and Henry ("Blood Ties"), when it comes to TV vampire shows then. Another fave of mine is Josef from "Moonlight", despite being a simple side character - but he is so much fun. :DD
best couple one of the best songs for them.i truly believe buffy did love spike.as others have said she was afraid to show spike how she felt she was afraid hed leave her too.she never said she wouldnt love him but that she cant she was afraid to let the wall down.if you go back thru the series buffy was the one who kissed him first most of the time.you cant put so much feeling into the kisses if you only felt of him as a friend and their sex scenes were the same.yes she should have not waited until he was going to sacrifice himself for her.until she said she loved him.
They loved each other so much, till obsession, if only she could be aware of it. But deeply I think she knew...
Yes, they cared so much for each other but there were so many struggles - especially with season 6 but thankfully they rebuild their relationship in season 7. I think it was mentioned somewhere that Buffy really meant what she said in 7x22. But I also wished she would have realized it sooner...

I liked Spike and Buffy the most. I was crying that they weren't even together in the end. It was a pity Buffy didn't find Spike alive. :(

Not sure if you read the comics, but Buffy and Spike get into an official relationship, which is a very happy one. And Joss Whedon says the comics are canon.

It really wasn't the best time for Buffy to tell him but Whedon confirmed that she truly meant it. I think it's beautifully tragic but I had prefered it for Spike to know much sooner instead during his sacrifice. :/ (But then again, they seem to be quite happy together in the comics but I don't read them, so I can't tell)
They are quite happy together in the comics and Buffy told him she loves him too in the season 11 finale, after the battle was done and they were just enjoying an evening together with the Scooby gang! It was beautiful :')

The directors kind of did Spike’s character dirty in the beginning of the show but I’m so glad he had the opportunity to show off his acting skills in the later seasons. I did still really enjoy the early villain comedic spike but hated his drawn out relationship with Dru. His complex monologues when he gets his soul back are incredible. You really feel his insanity and xconfusion but single minded determination to be a good man for Buffy. We needed more seasons of their romance. Spike all the way! 🖤

IKR? Especialy that today most shows only try to please the fanase instead of creating good content. Maybe it's just me but I miss older shows like BTVS. It's such a pity that "Firefly" got cancelled so soon. Whedon surely would have created another masterpiece for television if there had been more seasons. :/
You could try watching "Grimm". It's a very good show if you give it a try. And if you enjoyed BTVS and Charmed, you might like it a lot. :))

I love Buffy but the only reason I didn’t like her completely is bc she never loved spike the guy with no soul then angel being a monster leaving her leaving her 💔 then spike everyone will always want him
I so agree! They focused too much on the "Angel was Buffy's first love"-issue. Angel could be fun as a stand-alone character (in his spin-off show, he was much more bearable from what I have seen) but as Buffy's love interest, he was terrible. Spike made some foolish decisions but he was always the better one. :)))
