The best thing about Simon Sinek is that it is not just a feel good story. I have applied many of the things he discussed to my work and personal life, and I've seen enough to know that he is right on the money. His advice helps me to grow and be a better person and employee every day.
"The laws are at a lower standard than ethics!!!!" completely summarizes the political landscape in Washington DC from 2016 to 2020. Hopefully we the Americans will turn this around in 2021 and beyond.
Perfect timing. The obsession with winning as opposed to living to your values and relationships is ultimately going to lead to disappointment, as you go against who you fundamentally are.
Typically the case indeed but there is a way to help people help people while trading time for time versus time for money and earn/gain a better mindset, lasting relationships and financial independence. This keeping values, and morals intact.
I find myself repeatedly referencing your talks and going back to what you say when thinking about leadership, what it means to me and what it should mean to the company I work for. So inspiring, thankyou.
Just finished watching all the 5 practices. I waited for all 5 to get uploaded so that I can watch all of them together. It had an overwhelming effect on me. I Love this person's vision
Oh Simon ♥️ absolutely yes, we need courage to lead, commit to people, relationships and be consistent, authentic and true to all aspects of living one's life ❗ 💕.
I am totally moved by this idea of infinite game and literally cry over this video. This idea had so much impact on how I perceive the world and how I run my life now. Thank you, Simon Sinek! Looking forward for your next incredible work.
You cultivated a voice which now speaks to people who are willing to listen, I like how that resonates with me. And I always feel better after listening to your inspiration.
Courage to Lead - Only dream most of the Businesses and their leaders (Title/Power). They think himself and short term/Finite only. Thank you Simon to be true always.
It's so inspiring to hear all your speeches. A million thanks Simon. Wish I could hear you live at least once in my lifetime... Keep up the good work. The world is a better place cause of guys like you
Wow. This really centered me with my business. So easy to lose sight sometimes in this pressure cooker of a world, where small biz swims against the tide in keeping its principles.
Simon, thank you! I hope and work towards having infinite mindset while continuing to live through my positively prosperous children and others while I am asleep.
Brilliant! I am trying to ensure that I bring an infinite mindset to my team and am absolutely amazed at how they are responding. In the current COVID19 pandemic they have stood up and taken lead in producing outstanding answers to ensure we can still operate. Loved the Titanic reference, fits squarely in how we have 'compliance' teams trying to drive delivery.
...and they will mention your name, they will talk about the lessons they learned from you, how they learned to be a better version of themselves, to take care of the people around them...in other words, you have literally lived beyond your own years.” Congratulations Simon, this is exactly what we say about you . 👏
Amazing. Thanks for sharing this. I hope I get to see you speak in my lifetime. For decades I have worked in Corporate and always fought against the status quo of metrics and profit margins as supreme. Sometimes to my detriment but nonetheless. Keep up the good fight. ☺
I ordered that book yesterday and I can't wait until it arrives! Thank you Mr. Sinek for not only what you are telling us, but rather how and most importantly why. Great man, great leader and definately a person I want to learn a lot from!
Woah 'if u work for a public company the pressure from the outside is overwhelming to focus on finite at the expense of the infinite. Wow..... best advice i ever heard.
I meed to share this with my managers, but doubt if it will ever go anywhere! I work at a large grocery store (chain of stores...a family 😉) and they are traded on the stock exchange. The way you describe the treatment of their employees is exactly how this company behaves. And just as Simon explains, they go through employees like changing ones clothes everyday! The employees are always on the defense....I can go on and on, but won’t and will share this with our new HR manager!
I love your content Simon. I wish more people realized that the threats of termination (fire the bottom 10%), while they offer a quick boost for a day or a week, will never be as powerful as long term inspiration. It's so hard to teach that, but the organizations that get it, REALLY make a powerful difference!
Powerful acknowledgment!! 🙌😊🌸👍⚡️ Acknowledging it is hard to focus on decisions in the finite and short term rather than the infinite yet doable! Great examples of COURAGE and possibilities!! 👍🎉
It's a big revelation, Titanic broke no laws. I have always felt that laws are indeed set at a lower standard and sometimes they need to catch up to the times. Sad that people knowingly take advantage of that and people lose lives or livelihood
These days, i exposure my weakness as slow runner in the company but What I realised the value of honest and integrity gives the strength inside that no monetary could replace by. Tq Simon for this valuable sharing
^ FYI Single Advisor like this one on the leadership systems of business is absolutely vital. You practically ruin capitalism without someone who studied these things on hand/call.
Right about everything except his understanding of Milton Friedman. Friedman's position on maximizing shareholder value is much more nuanced. One could argue that by not providing enough lifeboats, the company risked a tremendous amount of shareholder value by not protecting the lives of passengers and placed the company's reputation at tremendous risk. Friedman routinely clarified his belief on maximizing shareholder value by arguing against the money executives spend on charities instead of reinvesting those funds in the company to increase profits, increasing employee wages to reward performance or paying dividends to shareholders to reward them for putting their own money at risk to help the company. Sinek seems to have misunderstood Friedman because Sinek is claiming Friedman championed the legal cutting of corners. Friedman applauded Volvo when they created seatbelts and gave away patents to competing carmakers at no cost. Friedman saw this added cost as an expense that would pay for itself by improving Volvo's image and increasing the life expectancy of potential customers. Friedman was against the use of company funds for things that don't reward the people associated with the company. Let them give to charity themselves.
Maximizing profit in the expense of customers or employees was a practice popular by Jack Welch, got it, and it hurts the organisation eventually, same goes to currrupted government leaders
Would like to understand who are the 95 people who did not understand this message and did not like it. Maybe the shareholders of companies? Finite managers and leaders?
In 2019, the Business Roundtable (BRT) which is an associaton of CEOs of large corporations, restated the purpose of business. They put CSR above profit, community over shareholders...infinite vision
CVS' move to stop selling cigarettes was insincere. They tried to save face, but it doesn't mean they stood by their motto of protecting the health and wellbeing of their customers. The fact that CVS went right back to selling cigarettes, DESPITE the positive outcome of their choice not too, says more than Simon can articulate.
Yes, fantastic message! Such a pity organizations work in that mindset. The Titanic story, though, is not accurate: there were supposed to be 48 lifeboats on board, they had only 20. And most of them were populated with less passengers than should have been. Titanic sailed with 2,274 people on board. There were 705 survivors. That's a bit less than a third.
Sadly, a little bit Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker growing up. Dad is a sweetheart though. I was the one getting cocky in life. More an A.I. and Robocop fan.

Thank you for taking years to put these works together. God Bless.
This guy changed how I've perceived leadership and what's expected of leaders. I love it. Thank you, dude!!

Huge Simon Sinek fan for my generation though. Probably one of our best leadership teachers I bet.

Thank you to leading us to see our infinite game, Simon! Thank you from Romania!
How I wish these words can help to transform also our entire System into an infinite one.

I would propose that in order to truly maximize shareholder value you need an infinite mindset.
I choose infinite mindset....Thanks Simon Sinek.
Amazing human! light worker 🙏🏾
Thanks Simon. Your ideas will make this world a better place. We have to stop playing zero sum games as a species.
Thank you! I've been trying to put this into words for so long!

Yes indeed, had the same thought myself.
But Simon is accurately reflecting people’s common misunderstanding of Milton Friedman.
Excellent!!
