I appreciate consistent people and Simon is as consistent with his word as they come. Something I am striving for is making sure no matter who I talk to my messaging remains consistent. Happy youtube gives us access to a breadth of people that we can connect and resonate with.

When he stated that love and business aren't a scavenger hunt, it subconsciously awoken something in me. I have been working hard at jobs when I could. I was told that I have a good work ethic and that caused me to feel flattered. I strive to be the best at work despite being a millennial, but for what? His explanation awoken a different mentality, and answered my question. Heck, later on in the video, I had a sudden epiphany due to his mention to "WORK" for it, not "FIND" it. It won't be easy, but it's not something you can instantly measure at face value.
All and all though, this video resonated with me, and it will probably be one that I return to for reminders constantly. I am reaching a new threshold of thought in my life, and I want to genuinely follow it. Thank you for posting this one. Truly, thanks!

I could not agree more with you. Simon Sinek’s explanation of how we get from here to there and how it happens was literally life changing for me as, technically, a millennial (1989). I give blood sweat and tears in everything - even when I don’t feel support. And his piece on this being lonely and hard - my god! I’ve listened to this while driving to and from work at least 100 times in the last few months. It still hits me when he talks about courage and support. I never acknowledged that I need this and I’m due this so I can give this. Seriously, a couple of minutes of this and my entire world shifted!

I can relate to the gentleman with two jobs. One job, the managers are nonexistent yet very demanding and everyone is disconnected from the position. While the other job,all the managers are motivational and caring and we provide outstanding customer service. Positivity radiates and vice versa

I agree sir on, the attention thing. Multitasking, requires you to be focused, on all tasks, at hand. I've been a cook for 12 yrs, you most defiantly have to be able to multitask. Right, while I'm cooking 25 steaks, 25 chicken breast, shrimp, ribs, and twice the number of side dishes, while consistently going back and forth with the expo, cooks, and servers. I can still have a very serious conversation with someone, even though its chaos. Not to mention help other cooks, dishwasher, or the prep person. Even still, I still know what's going on clearly, with in the restaurant.
The way I look at it I have multiple deadlines at once, multiple times a day, and each deadline is 10 to 15 minutes. You have to be able to multitask, to do my job, like a boss. I'm far from the best in the world, but I guarantee in in the top percentile. I am a boss, when cooking is involved. Anything else probably not so much.
Multitasking is being efficient, at every task, at the same time.
Not saying, "huh", or ignoring me, when I say hello, when your face is sucked into the mini boob tube, you hold in your hands.

I still thank the spirit that led me to this man.
I was going to have a presentation at university in 2020. And i kept on searching for techniques on how to make an impressive public speaking, by luck i bumped into one of his videos. Mind you, the video was not even talking about public speaking, but something compelled me to click that TedTalk of his. From that day i was hooked to Simon Sinek's content

Evan Carmichael you curate the most amazing material! Simon Sinek is a master of profound introspection. I would like to add a comment on the courage section. Not everyone has someone or anyone to support them to give them courage. Sometimes our external pressure for courage is that failure is not an option. I need to show my daughters that their mom has been through a lot, but if I consistently and courageously show up for myself, they can too. They are too little to "support" me. But they need me and pride is not a luxury I can afford. My love for them gives me strength, my desire to protect and provide despite lack of support.
