If azi and crowley were being played by a female and a male actor, it would have taken much MUCH less for literally everyone watching the series to be convinced they are a couple. People assume they‘re a gay couple in the book, Crowley calls Aziraphale „angel“ with great affection, they have a special place in each other‘s lives, they love spending time together and indulge each other‘s shenanigans. I remember tearing up when reading how, in the face of the world ending, they decide to hold hands. In the final paragraph of the book, they are described as two halves of the same whole. If that‘s not love, I don‘t know what is.

I’m not saying the kiss is like. THE definitive proof they’re in love (I obviously was convinced of that long before), I was simply trying to make a somewhat humorous point about how some people will attempt to ignore any and all potential evidence of a queer relationship being canon

The difference is that Crowley and Aziraphale actually like humans and are more bonded to them than anyone else ever could. Beelzebub and Gabriel didn't kiss because they are still higher beings, they don't like humans nor like to practice human activities, while Aziraphale and Crowley are the opposite : they love humanity and doing human things, such as drinking, eating, sleeping, reading, dancing, wearing nice clothes. Why would a kiss be different and forced when their entire characterization is that they are different and more human-like than the average demon/angel ?
Sometimes I wonder if media literacy is dead, because what I just explained is pretty textual in both the book and the series. It's even shown Crowley can't take picking a side anymore, and wants to only be himself, not an angel nor a demon. Like, c'mon
