    Gotta love an old (Super) M. Fires right up, great tractors. I wouldn’t want the loader, either.

      They are fairly dependable. Correct that the loader is way too big.

    Fun you will complain about the roaster in the background but will stand next to the IH 1456 talking over the idling diesel or your truck idling in the background.

    Uncle tipped grandpa's jd 60 narrow front with 45 loader over lifting a rock... dad helped upright it, they let it sit 30 minutes, checked fluids, ran out great! Think uncle needed new underwear!
    Thanks for sharing 👍

    My chore tractor when i first started out raising cattle was a M with a westondorf loader, i really wanted live hydraulics so i put that loader on a 560. Both tractors were narrow fronts, its not so scary when you fluid fill both rear tires and add 4 wheel weights to each side. My cattle lot was on a terrace down hill, i put rear gleaner combine wheels on the front so i could run wider 16" pickup tires on it for added floatation. Had to had tire chains on the back year around cause of the mud and hill climbing out of the cattle lot pulling a feeder wagon. I used the loader to fill the hayfeeder wagon and to haul round bales down into the feed lot. Everyday, twice a day, for 48 years. Only rolled the 560 three times. Sill have that tractor, took the loader off, now it is doing light duty running PTO augers.

      Rear ballast would make one hell of a difference.

    Have to agree with you on narrow front end tractors shouldn't have loaders. Try loading silage with a narrow front with a F10 loader. It can have a degree of pucker factor! 😳

    Parts from the wide front are helpful. The plate between the frame and the lower bolster is for adjusting the wheel base. ( front to back ) I don't need M parts but....

    That is one big loader for a small tractor. A heavy load out on the end of it and that could put a lot of stress on the front end. I'd get rid of that loader and either run it without, or get a smaller one. That is a nice little tractor though. I bet it has a lot of years left in it.

    T T that looks like a Swartz wide front. I have a John Deere 70 with a Swartz wide front. They work good for normal farm work. That is the last front end i'd put a loader over. I've got a standard 4010 John Deere with a loader on it. It handles a 5 ft bale good. Have a good day!

      That’s an IH wide front, tie bars are in front of the axel. A later wide front would have tie rods behind.

    • @tmonteIH
      @tmonteIH  6 місяців тому

      It’s an early IH wide front.

    • @toby0395
      @toby0395 6 місяців тому

      Considering it's an early IH front end its not a loss, those front ends were garbage. I know of a couple salvage yards around that won't even sell them, they get torched as soon as they come in.
