- Gary Sinise reveals his son, McCanna, also known as 'Mac,' has died following a battle with a rare cancer, Chordoma. He was 33. Gary shared the news with a tribute on Instagram and a message on the website of his organization, The Gary Sinise Foundation.

My heart goes out to Gary, Moira and the girls at this awful time. I’ve been a fan of Gary for many years not only as a movie actor but on CSI:NY and this news is quite a shock. Gary has always kept his family private which is a good thing, but he and Mac were close and I can’t imagine the indescribable grief he’d be feeling right now. They say losing a child is something you never get over and I am a parent myself. I hope they’ll all be okay. R.I.P

Such a heartbreak as a Military mom whose son had Cancer while serving and had treatment and continued to serve when he was Cancer free I am so grateful for all that Gary has done with his Foundation. I am also a Sarcoma survivor a rare Cancer. I am so sorry that this horrible disease took his son’s life May he rest in peace. I will keep Gary and his Family in my thoughts and prayers.
