There's an impromptu video here on You Tube of Hollywood figures and soldiers letting him know how grateful they are for all he does, and some of them are quite far to the left. What he does is so honest and without reproach that it can't possibly be denied.

Yes, I love Lieutenant Dan. But when I knew Gary, he was in Highland Park and people walked by and as they should even after he was popular left him alone I told my daughter who wanted an autograph no. These people live here. This is their community we have sports stars, actors and entertainers that live in our community. They have the right to walk down the street and not be bothered just like you do.
