In defense of Arkane's deviation from their usual type and genre of video-games, this worked really well for Creative Assembly's Alien: Isolation.
But yah, I really wish they could've remade Dark Messiah of Might and Magic in the Void Engine, or do anything else.

That aliens game you mentioned? That AI derpiness was actually due to a single added letter in the code. Tether was misspelled teather, and fixing drastically improves the ai
But like how is that not discovered before launching? Surely they must have seen something was wrong with their release build right?
@@kyrax9462 stuff like that gets past version 1.0 tests all the time. The issue is we usually see patches nowadays to correct it.
This 21 minutes video, has more effort put into it and an overall better quality than redfall, and is not 70 bucks... What a world

The ai i would most compate this games ai too is halo 5, holy actual shit, the ai in that game might as well literally not exist. And that seems to be the case here as well.

Bethesda at least had the sense to delay the game by 10 months to avoid being the next Cyberpunk. Redfall on the other hand, the publisher and Xbox knew it was going to be the next Cyberpunk. It reminds me of how Blizzard knew almost a year ago that they weren't going to do a PVE mode for Overwatch 2 but embargoed that information until just recently. Confident people don't have to hide their work.
I'm baffled about the ages it takes for the enemies to shoot. They always start talking first and before they can finish their sentence they're dead.

What makes this worse is that even if you drastically improved the AI the game still probably wouldn't play that well, since the level designers and balance team must have been play-testing with what we see here.

If you really want a good looter shooter. I highly recommend Generation Zero. It's really good in my opinion and deserves more recognition.
Not sure if this was pre-day 1 patch or PC has more bugs than Xbox. My experience with the AI hasn't been like this.

@@slintirreg I really thought at the time that FEAR would be a stepping stone for seriously good games. The AI made it seem like you were fighting actual strategizing squads of soldiers.

This is definitely the case of it literally just being the wrong genre. When that first trailer came out, I was expecting a co op Dishonored focused on teamwork and coordination. But what we got was mid. The definition of mid.
Anthem suffered from a lack of direction and actual talent for creating end game content but it was a hugely ambitious game
Redfall isn't that it's a small ass sandbox game with copy and pasted world assets, generic loot and non existent balance or AI it's easily worse than Anthem for what it actually is
Arkane can make great looters, deathloops a great example.. idk wtf happened here.

Calling this an Overwatch mod is a great way to reflect how soulless this game feels.
at least Overwatch works, has good voice acting and a playerbase hehe but yeah.. it feels as soulless as OW 2 for sure

I love that Bahroo is giving his youtube some love again :) the shorts was a start, and now the videos are even better
First, Bahroo is probably the only person I've seen not pick the stealth sniper. Second, it wasn't until halfway into the video when he mentioned that his lightning tether power was broken that I got my answer to why he never seemed to use it. Third, wow, standing still really highlights how bad the AI is as they dance around for ten seconds before "finding" you. I'll probably buy this game for $5 several years from now just to have a laugh at things.

I'm sorry, not gonna say Anthem was good but it had some fun gameplay elements at least. Looked decently good too.
Thanks to this video I realized that the shooting sound effects for the pistol, the shotgun and the assault rifle are the SAME. Unbelievable. That has to be a record low, really.
