Imagine if a good ass director would take Destiny's Lore (all of it) and started putting out movies.….. It would be epic, specially (for me) anything related to the hive and awoken... The book of sorrows alone was an amazing read.

It would make sense, given Sword Bearer's were carrying the Ascendant Swords that were the only things that could truly kill Crota.

It's interesting how the death of Oryx and Crota didn't make the Hive less interesting or zealous, but furthered their development. Savathun has began to move and manipulate, and the survivors of Crota's and Oryx's forces have turned to new and twisted methodologies in order to try and survive.
Of course, we're also seeing they aren't the only enemy race in Destiny now that is in a state of desperation, disarray, and trying to regain power. The Fallen, Vex, Scorn, and even the Cabal are all suffering as well given the blows they've taken.
Well Zulmak is the king of helmets because that is all I have had to drop from him. May he rot in the void!

Borderline? She's outsmarted us every encounter we have with her... We only know her schemes after we fall for them. The whole forsaken expansion was her doing pretty much.

We know SO much about the hive from 3 DLC's in 5 years it took Byf a whole hour to explain it before he even got to the start of the D1 story line in his video - i really hope the bigger picture of destiny's story has more focus on the other factions.

What else can they explain though? Fallen and Cabal are pretty much just jealous of Guardians. And the Vex (minus those found in the Black Garden) have massive OCD.
This is just my opinion as a day one player, I dont think were gonna see much more of the cabal or the fallen. I think there going to get tied into our story fighting the darkness.. or maybe even get wiped out. I think we have almost killed all of the ascendant hive as well as there worms and while some people think they will come back and they might, under some control of the darkness, I think were seeing the end of the hive and once savathun is killed the hive wont really have a leader to follow until the darkness arrives. And my honest opinion is that the whole story so far has been building up the vex as one of the last big bads as having control over space and time is so OP and unless the writers are just worried about how to tackle time travel that that's gonna be the big focus of destiny's story in the next few years and that there gonna be directly linked to darkness in some form or another. This would explain why theres still no explanation and total mystery surrounding there entire species, why characters like osiris and rasputin were reintroduced, why we havnt seen there true power, yet there pretty much on every planet and are talked about or used in every DLC and lastly why ikora is building a vex portal in the middle of the tower. I think were about to see alot more expansion on the vex, especially considering the devs have said they want to make a continuous story through the DLCs now. As I say they have to pay savathun off some how so before the darkness/vex story gets too heavy were probably gonna clash with her in a major DLC but I can see them using sivu arath as a Nokris type encounter or maybe even a dungeon and just calling the hive there. Of course will still fight them but I think were gonna start to see two distinct sides in all the factions.. light vs dark for the big final conflict
@@fessy4 the vex are real interesting, so far we have "crota tears hole in realm, suprise vex pop out" i think there is a lot more to the vex. There is still a bit more to the cabal too - hopefully we see Calus. The fallen are the coolest but they just seem to pop up everywhere as an afterthought, scavenging for example.

My god, Savathun is millions of times more evil than any of the other Hive! Oryx seemed to be all about brainless brute strength (like Asher mocking Zavala as just punching everything), but her? She's gone and upended the whole process with a level of trickery and cunning nobody else can match. That's some sick shit she's doing! I wonder how Xivu Arath will ultimately fit into all this? We keep seeing references to Savathun in the lore and the Festering Core strike, but there's also Taken of Xivu's army roaming around the Dreaming City. Some scary stuff, for sure!
Matt, a big point you might have missed is the name Savathun gives the new amalgam of Malkanth and Azavath.

Ir Airâm is the name of the Deathsinger we kill at the end of the Deathbringer exotic quest. We take her skull back to Eris and she uses it to craft the Deathbringer which is literally powered by the Deathsinger's Song. Not only did we already kill Malkanth/Azavath, we have a weapon that uses their power. Exactly as Savathun wanted.
"Then gather the maw from your old form and complete your rebirth. Become the First Death and serve as a catalyst for that which may one day stand against oblivion.""And for this honor-for all you have done-what do you require in return?""I seek no praise.
"I need only for your Song to become that which I desire.""A weapon.""And nothing more."
Savathun WANTED us to have the Deathsinger's power and Savathun WANTED us to kill Zulmak and stop whatever her grandnieces were trying to do in the Pit.

Her voice like ice in the minds of lore masters, she tells us lies in the form of theories and riddles, a task we have all taken to- even I... but I am not so foolish as to misunderstand her words, be they metaphorical- or literal.
To think the cunning is not the apex of the deep, to say she is not the deep itself- it is to say you do not understand the hive, the vex, the deep. We cannot change the timeline, we can only witness it.....

While I like how the lore has built up Savathun as this evil mastermind, I hope the writers at Bungie aren't using her manipulative behavior as an excuse to circumvent - or even retconn - existing lore. It just seems like, more and more, certain elements of Destiny's lore is starting to dwindle into, "Well, that's Savathun for ya" territory.

Well Savathun knows that the wound that is Oryx can never truly heal until his teachings are forgotten and the revence towards him ceases. Only then can Savathun's interpretation of the sword logic become the dominant version, making her as powerful, if not more powerful than Oryx.

Okay, I'm really intrigued by this new lore entry... I know other ppl are as well. It sounds confusing but I got it. The Hive got some leadership issues going on but it's almost like Savathun is welcoming the confusion. Also, I hear lower tier Hive talking down on Crota's daughters, but they ain't say shxt to Savathun and Xivu Arath!! This is drama filled excitement I was never expecting from Hive lore!! Wow.. can't wait to see how this unfolds!!
In my opinion, they are breaking story telling for the "world building" and "game play" they are currently going for. When I first heard about Zulmak and about what happened to him, I was almost expecting that to be a future battle where we face a Wizard that controls her brother?... Sister?.... sibling throughout the entire fight as the knight destroys hive like a borderlands 2/3 Goliath, a destructive and almost impervious force trying to get to the guardians that are running around the battlefield while the Wizard makes specific sounds to signify what major attack the boss will use next as if barking orders to get the sibling to not be as mindless as it seems to be while the Wizard is silent. Maybe 4+ guardians must wield swords, the new ones we see currently, where we do similar to what the "special miniboss enemies" as well as similar to Crota's mechanics to take him out while at the same time, trying to take out the wizard as the main mechanic besides the sword is to kill them both at around the same time. Could have been a new Hive only end raid boss with the entire raid using the swords in different ways to show what they can do and how to beat the main big boss.
Edit: I just now realized which person was Zulmak and that it isn't the sibling but the champion beaten by the Zulmak. But anyways, my point still stands that I would like to see something like this happen

So a civil war broke out between two sides of the hive side 1) hashladun and the daughters believe the sword logic should be transcended and hide behind the cunning and in so create zulmak as a backup king while side 2) the siblings seek to inherit the sword logic and therefore initiate a civil war within the hive to take power they do but then 2 of them die by the others hand and all that’s left is the one witch BUT THEN PLOT TWIST
Zulmaks not dead just remade and now stronger and the witch that killed the siblings is now part of the choir of the death singers she has joined the daughters of Crota
SO to wrap it all up savuthun orchestrated the whole thing to fuel her worm and ascend through the sword logic because through her cunning she has made a swarm with a champion and power of that to rival even Oryxs army the whole idea of hashladun wanting to ascend the sword logic is hubris and savathun knows this so she tricks her into thinking it’s possible when in truth savathun because of her cunning is on the top of the sword logic the sword logic is bound to the hive it cannot be transcended or escaped because it’s bound to them from their deal with the worm gods so savathun has really just ascended and made her own personal army that’s powerful enough to rival even oryxs court and army.........
