Persoanlly I find the Hives lore fascinating. Their lore is so intriguing since they're basically one of the oldest species in the Destiny world. I love reading their lore books
Oryx lore is just so cool. He killed both his sisters then used their powers combined to attack one of the worms which he kills and then uses its corpse as a shell for his throne world ship.
Mine is definitely Clovis' journal discussing how early Exos died. The fact that the brain thought that it was alive inside of a corpse because no normal functions like digestion or respiration were present freaks me out. And how they basically disassociated to death.
it's part of the reason modern Exos are given stuff like the feeling of hunger and the feeling of bleeding among others. If you play as an Exo I believe Failsafe has a line mentioning hunger or something, which is a known way to stop the disassociation.
‘The helmet stayed on’ is hilarious because it’s not ‘they banged and Shaxx didn’t take off the helmet’, it’s ‘Mara got blue balled by the wish dragon because she tried an interdimensional booty call and got Shaxx, who’s a massive *nerd*.’ Also, the original way you unlocked For Every Rose a Thorn was with thorn kills, and slowly learning who Shin Malphur *actually* is…god it’s so good.
I love the One Eyed Mask lore card, a Titan and his Ghost that just wanted to live in peace get caught out by a Red Legion squad after the Traveler is captured. And this Titan, who just lost his Ghost, had an eye gouged out, was beaten within an inch of death, and thrown down a cliff, decides to just get back up and obliterate the squad that tortured him and killed his Ghost. Definitely part of my favorite bits of lore, I love the pieces that cover the lives and characters of Guardians, their actions, feats, sacrifices, all of the stories their lives and deaths tell. The tales of Dredgen Yor and Shin Malphur, Saint overpowering a Vex onslaught to the point they needed to create a Vex Mind just to face him, and the Vex leaving him a tomb of sorts, his return, his coming to peace with the Eliksni, the Hunter Vanguard Dare, the rise of the Iron Lords and their fall, and even all those assorted stories of other, less famous Guardians. All the heroic and glorious stories of heroes and courage to the dark and grim tales of Guardian killers, Warlords, and sacrifice, it just builds such an intricate and interesting world of what would otherwise just be some resurrected corpses made to fight in defense of a big ball in the sky, these stories make these characters just feel that much more interesting, that a Guardian can be anyone and do anything; and that after all we've been through, all the deaths, resurrections, strife, and glory, that we're still human, the hand that can freeze, melt, electrify, or disintegrate anything it touches, can too be delicate and peaceful
The Taken. Words can't describe how unique the Books of Sorrow are compared to every other lore entry. The fact that the Taken haven't been explored more is criminal.
because their true master is the witness, oryx only barrowed them from him. My thoughts is that in lightfall we will get more lore for them since their OG master is now here
I think the problem Bungie has with writing taken lore is how releatively young their faction is, they can be assumed to have been an early version of the dread, seeing as the dread seemingly merge both the repurposed corpse aspect from the scorn and the mindlessness of the taken. The witness made them originally then taught Oryx how to do it Oryx then inscribed the process on the tablets of ruin. At this point I'm pretty sure that's literally all they have in way of faction history.
Anything relating to the Eliksni is just so interesting to me. I love knowing about the Eliskni history and their cultures. I find the whole thing with Eliskni converted to English namesake thing (For example: Mithrax & Misraaks)
What a great vid. The French part in the fallen lorebook translates to something like “ooh, god darn, you shot me! You wanted my attention? Then you gonna have it!”
i did this solo flawless yesterday i had three clears prior from over a year ago it took one attempt i did duality and shattered throne yesterday too, and they took... a lot more and 'the helmet stayed on' has always been my favourite lore entry it's iconic
@@smellycat57shattered throne took five attempts, and not because it’s tough. First attempt was 30 seconds because I was watching something else and fell off an edge. Second lost in the first encounter because I slammed a grenade straight into a wall I was next to. Third attempt I fell of an edge before the final encounter. Fourth attempt I tried to rush past the ogres and got booped off. It was all my very stupid mistakes. I just didn’t make a stupid mistake in Pit, somehow.
Dude, read the trials armor and weapon lore, from pyrrhic ascent onwards, it’s such an incredibly written story about the warlock shayura and her fireteam. Love every moment
To those wondering, Achilles Pt 4 was in French. I can’t translate it all, but in summary, the guardian is saying, « You tired me out. You wanted my attention? Well now you have it! »
Great video! Now do the same challenge with Duality :) Also, Vex lore is easily my favorite by far. There's just something about unstoppable time traveling robots from another dimension that I love
It's a small bit but I've always liked the lore of Shinobu, a Hunter who was revived within hours of her original life dying, and basically ended up adopting that same life again as a Guardian (through a friend of the original Shinobu and an old diary that she'd kept). She went on to become the Sixth Coyote I think
I'm a real big fan of the lore book that talks about (Elsie Bray) the exo stranger's life before she moved to our timeline it's a really fascinating read if you have all 10 lore pages (PS you should do this exact same modifier on Solo spire of the watcher)
My top three lord subjects include: 1 Hive, they are just so aincent and I love the lore surrounding them. 2 Rasputin, as someone who knows a bit more than most about robots I love Rasputin and his theme. 3 Ahamkara lore. Purely because of riven phase 2 ost, such a mystical song with soaring crescendos and beautiful flutes.
I think this should be a new challenge in general! It's great as interaction and teaching general community some deeper lore cuts, perhaps that single page would inspire them to go read the entire book, which could blow up into them really digging into the lore as a whole. Clovis Bray's Logbook - Missing Pages [Entry 12] is one piece of the lore that really makes my skin crawl. To even begin to imagine it, what the sensation must have been like.. Horrific.
Dark future was both haunting and sad with a wild twist on the world we know and love. The snippets from the ghosts who turned to the hive during witch queen were also festinating due to the morality and philosophical debates between ghosts in them.
my favorite part of the lore is the lore of the fallen, the fallen are my favorite species in the lore, I love their story, the design and space pirate theme. I love the fallen.
The Last Days of Kraken Mare is one of my faves because it was the first lore book I read from the point of view of people who were alive during the Golden Age.
personally for me, I've always enjoyed the lore of Thorn and Last word (I know, so original), along with Most Loyal. I've recently read the story of Eva Lavante during the red war, and it's really good, highly recommend if yo haven't read it
I can’t wait to see if they expound more on the initial days of the collapse, and the various entities of the darkness. We’re getting the Tormentor which is a nice door opener but if we get to learn more of what attacked Ada-1’s compatriots I’d love that.
It’s just a shame that the lore of the VoG didn’t come back with it. There are a ton of predictions that the vex make in D1 lore cards that links with factions and an exiled humanity.
I’m a sucker for the first people who became guardians and the construction/defense of the last city. I love the lore in between. Especially the stuff from the black armory.
I love everything about the Dark Age/Post Collapse. Call me a psycho, but i see something twistedly beutiful in humanity going back to the medieval times but this time with aliens and space magic. All the interactions fascinate me deeply, like the warlords butting heads for control, regular humans having to survive, the enviroment being cold wastelands of places that were once thriving cities. Man, i wish bungie expanded even more on this point of humanity's history.
Favorite lore area is a pretty tough one for me.. As a person who passes time re-reading all kinds of entries over at ishtar collective, I really do love the game's lore as a whole, but if I had to really pick and choose I'd say things related to the other races, how they live, what their past was like and so on. I find the Eliksni especially fascinating.
Personally, I find the lore of Nezarec and the Spire of the Watcher Dungeon to be some of my favorite lore. I love how Spire of the Watcher ties into the overarching theme that is Lightfall.
Hive lore is my jam, and in fact one of my favorite pieces of Hive lore is the backstory of the Pit of Heresy. There's some gruesome stories involved in the Pit, let me tell you.
I've tried soloing Pit of Heresy several times, but I have zero patience. Favorite lore is either anything Braytech/Exo related, or anything Darkness related. Love me some robots and eldritch horror.
I absolutely love the hive and eliksni. Back in middle school I would dress my hunter in all the house banner cloaks and I absolutely obesssed over the house of kings
An accurate assessment... Ager's is really powerful, it's my favorate weapon, but gotta love the lore, I think that the most difficult part of the raid is definately the first encounter, the rest are fine.
i cant wait to uncover the secrets of the light and dark, of the traveller and the witness. hopefully in the next 2 expansions those secrets are revealed to us, if any.

WTF???
I remember from somewhere that the disassociation forced them to literally tear their heads apart, really fuckin brutal.
Damn that's fucked, I need to readbit
Good ol' Disassociative Exomind Rejection (DER).
it's part of the reason modern Exos are given stuff like the feeling of hunger and the feeling of bleeding among others. If you play as an Exo I believe Failsafe has a line mentioning hunger or something, which is a known way to stop the disassociation.
mara sat and listened
Just because the helmet stayed on doesn’t mean the greaves did
I would listen to shaxx
I’m pretty sure there was no funny business happening. They were both grieving a mutual friend, not getting romantic.
The helmet stayed on

I really enjoy reading drifter's lore, and seeing what he has gone through.
I liked a lot of the Nightmare lore during the season of opulence, getting to see everyone's deepest fears, regrets and doubts made manifest
You mean Haunted?
What a great vid. The French part in the fallen lorebook translates to something like “ooh, god darn, you shot me! You wanted my attention? Then you gonna have it!”
The stories of how Clovis Bray went about creating the exos are super gnarly
I love this man’s content. I was just watching the witch queen nuzlocke lol
