I remember the seller saying the car had been for sale for a while due to buyers not liking the colour of the interiors upholstery. I think it was still for sale because potential buyers had taken the time to inspect the underside and body of the car and found it needed significant repairs.
This guy bought the car and found out it's problems. That's why he sold it. Chad solved this guy's headache. That guy is no car appraiser. That car is just a money pit. Example of a barn find.
Unsafe for the road not certifiable and Chad please next time put it on a lift please before you buy it ,I feel so sorry it happened to you and love you and Jolene, I'm very sorry guys mike g Mexico new york😢
Well Chad, I'm an auto mechanic, and I get very upset with my customers that buy cars without putting it on a lift first. As my dad would say, if the seller won't let you take it to a mechanic to look over, don't buy it. I won't even give an exhaust repair quote without putting it on the lift. Everything looks different on the lift.
Although true, he did buy one that was on a lift and certified did he not. And that comes with a price because that certificate can make the car worth much more. It's fraud.
You are 100% correct. Sadly Chad placed his faith into a individual stating that he was a legit auto appraiser, whom had a authentic vehicle safety certification.
NEVER! Buy an antique car without going to the nearest auto repair shop and put it on a hoist. He dazzled you with the other cars he had and sold you a pig in a poke. $20,000 lesson. You should have taken him up on the offer to bring it back. I can understand why you are upset. Chalk it up as lesson learned, and fix it.
That's a 1946 The park lights are up above the grill on the fender and square The 1947 and 1948 park lights are below the headlights and circular.......
If anyone actually wanted one of your jalopies, (even the tv cars were not wanted) would they be able to put one on a hoist without it folding in half? The hypocrisy is unbelievable in this episode
I don't care. It's a good looking car inside and out. It made it home some 1400 miles (2000 km). Just fix the fucking thing and enjoy. What you're doing now, you should have done before handing over the cash. EDIT: Okay. My comment above was before watching the video. But I stand by what I said. NO ONE is disagreeing about the seller's misrepresentations. He may very well have committed fraud. That shoddy repair work, done sometime in the past IS, in fact, pathetic. And most likely NOT certifiable for safety purposes But THAT is not the point. The fact is that you paid some twenty thousand plus dollars for the car and couldn't be bothered to ask for it to be driven to the closest lift for further inspection. Had you done so, you would have either walked away, or negotiated a $10-15,000 reduction in price. You chose to do neither.
He offered you your money back while you were still in Barrie and he was near Toronto. He would of turned around and met you back at his house and returned your money. You can only blame yourself for not doing that
I’m an old body man, painter, mechanic myself, and bought cars just like this,, just tell yourself how great it will be once you add the integrity back to that car,, you’re the man for the job !
One thing that should be obvious to all is the integrity of Chad. Putting this vid out says a lot abt the man in warning others to beware. Takes a big heart to do that.
@@grahamsatherley7996 not sure where you come up with that. Chad's skills are way beyond what is needed here. Fixing this is all basic cut and butt and building proper rocker panels and mounts. But it's a slog, and a lot less satisfying than creating a new car.
@@grahamsatherley7996 Have you watched Chad? He could build this car from scratch. He's pissed because he didn't get what he paid for and was promised. I don't blame him. Now he's got to take butt loads of time to bring it up to what it was supposed to be. It's a crap sandwich.
@@grahamsatherley7996 Chad has the skills to fix it and he will. He explained that he saw thing's that concerned him but instead of wasting the time and money the car looked and sounded like it was mechanically sound to get them home. You are doing it right by exposing the crook that lied about the rust and the inspection. The car does run well hopefully a lawyer that watches the show will help you get some money back. Pay no mind to the fools that put you down buddy.
There is no hole in the frame is a clue to what and how that is for. The L bracket has a hard rubber pad that supports the running boards. A center bolt fastens the rubber bushing to the bracket and the running board sits firmly on top of the rubber pad. Had you consulted with someone who knows, you wouldn’t have to assume or keep guessing. This is straight forward for those of us who have knowledge in these areas .
The only PATHETIC THING is that Chad keeps goin on about this ....he had the opportunity to 1. Put the car on a hoist and check it out 2. Get his money back Suck it up you bought it
The real pathetic thing is you choose to sit and type a comment bc you have no life and nothing better to do. When you buy something, that says perfect condition, no rust, ect, and then you see rust all over, and half the body is falling off. You just got lied to your face and FLEW there to buy it. Youd be mad too. But you are to busy judging other people lifes on the internet, to go live your own... 😯🙃
@@johndenyer9555, he's not bad mouthing the seller. He's proving a point to whine asses like you that the car was not even close to being in the condition as advertised. He Bought the Car according to the Add and he thought that he did not have to do anything with the Car, as like you would as when you buy a New Car you just get in and drive no problems, so i can see why Chad is Pissed.
it is his 20 thousand he spent so he can complain if he wants to. he could have went back and tore a strip of the asshole crook he was dealing with, and i suppose you would be happy as a lark. you people turn people of.
For the love of GOD just sell the damn thing and try to get some money back and quit feeling sorry for yourself. You had the right to put it on a hoist and look at it. Lots of people would love to have the car. just the way it is. So tired of this. You will never like the car.
@@pphil1267 true but truth in advertising and a sucker born every minute comes to mind. I think Chad is more disappointed with spending Jolines money??
You had three options either point out body panels(you saw) , renegotiate the price. 2. Buy it and repair it. 3. Walk away, don’t spend good money after bad!
For sure have to be willing to walk away when it is not what the seller claimed it to be. Hard lesson I have to learn few times sadly. Sucks it was such a big hit on this one.
So your saying the buyers should have walked away from 3k plus expenses and time? Your also saying its ok for seller to do it to the next guy too? ITS sickening that the burdon should be on the buyers.
This was a lesson for all of us. Sadly the World is full of disinformation and dishonest people. You and Jolene did not deserve this. Don’t be bitter , it’s a painful experience. Forgive and move on. That’s what heals the human Spirit . Continue to move forward and Be a Man and Women of Integrity. I love the way you put things in perspective. There truly are others who suffer so much more. Turn this into something positive. ❤❤
Exactly what I was getting ready to say. Chad shouldn't be complaining either because he did such a poor job of checking it out! To me, he didn't show me anything that I was surprised to see though. I was really surprised that he couldn't see the difference from a so-so "old car" and a great old car that he was looking for until after he was on the way home! It sure seems like a great driver though! I had a 48 and traded it for a really customized 47 in 1959 and they were both fine cars. Just liked the "hot rod the best"! :)
Stevan... you are absolutely correct! Quit whining about something you should NOT have bought. Blame yourself and check out the next one a bit more thoroughly before you write the check..DAH!
Chad said he knew there was rust, he just didn't realize how bad the rust was until he put it in the air on the lift. Couldn't do that there. I'm pretty sure if Chad and Jolene knew the extent this car was in, they probably would not have bought it. They were going of the fact that this guy said he was a professional when in fact he is a scum bag person to pass this disaster on to someone else.
Chads point is, the seller advertised it as in much better shape and the seller also implied an accurate description and wanted to just ship it to a buyer. It was falsely advertised and would have screwed anyone especially if it was shipped based off of the photos and description. The seller flaunt the fact that he was an appraiser to help bait the buyer in to screw them over.
There are many inspection services available all over the world. They would photograph the entire car and send you a report on the exact condition of the car. All for less than $250. And you would have saved the airfare and probably not bought the car.
This old girl was a lemon,I have a very nice original 39 mercury sedan, had a very good panel shop job resto in 1977,so your hoist appraisal was well done, down here in n.z.we dont have salt on the roads ,so our car is mint, I'll watch closely as you put it back to how it should be,wish I lived around the corner, cheers,Richard.
I seem to recall the car was pulled out of garage, and was in the driveway at one point. Maybe there was enough room to look under the passenger side then? Time to stop using that excuse. Not rust free for sure, but you probably should just man up, and admit that you didn't do a good inspection for yourself.
He took the words of a man. A man that was a liar. Liars are thieves. Yes, he was told to be given back his money. To get there, Chad already told us he spent lots of money for the trip. It's a lesson we all learn now. Never judge a book by its cover. Sad that Chad has to show us that he was telling us the truth. GLAD, he put it on UA-cam. Chad has shown us that there are people out there in wolf skins.
Honesty is a rare thing these days. I don't know what it's like up there in Canada but down here in the states, an honest human is extremely hard to find. I appreciate what you got going on. Keep up the excellent work.
Honest folk come and go. It's up to you to take care of your interests. You are an expert...right? Then it's your mistake not to check it out all the way. You now have to eat your mistake...!?
Agree. But that does not mean that the seller was not dishonest in the first place. He stated several false material facts about the car. Case closed in that regard too
@@Thundertef so what's better? Lose 3k or lose the cash you paid for the car and the cash to repair it? He now has a laundry list of faults with the car. Don't telle he missed all of them.
You bought a car.. no one had to twist your arm. You are supposed to be a professional body man and you were offered your money back... You went thinking you were getting a steal of a deal for half what it was worth. It was nice to see your heartfelt apology to Jolene however..
Hi Jolene and Chad. I really feel for you guys over all this car question and answers needs attention hoping you can get it sorted out blessings and cheers guys from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 take care and be safe 😊.
I had to go back and watch the previous videos after reading today's comments. The seller was reasonable in offering to give the money back. It's also easy to run a camera under a car to see what's under there before buying it. I would have then walked away from it. From there I would have made a vacation out of the travel and flew home afterwards.
He only offered the money back because he was caught. This does not make him an honest, or ethical seller. He was just trying to limit any blowback on his reputation, as a seller.
Buyer beware,I have overpaid on many vehicles myself in the past BUT I have never went back on someone after the deal was made.i believe if I was dumb enough to overpay for a car then if I am gonna be a stand up guy ( which I try to be ) I'm gonna eat it and kick myself in the ass Everytime I look at it.its called being a man
@@colletteodonoghue5940 To watch Chad make a fool and ass of himself over and over. What a train wreck. I am actually beginning to believe the whole thing is staged. I truly believe that Chad, Jolene, and Larry are in cahoots in the “sale” of the car and video of the conflict to create drama for clicks and likes according to the UA-cam algorithm. It makes no sense since Larry told Chad he would take the car back and refund the money. Chad didn’t do that did he? No. He and Jolene just keep making videos of Chad crying like a little you-know-what.
Ooohhh no...not another one hour programme of whining. How about some self-recrimination instead - because as everyone knows there are always two parties to a transaction. Your part was to do due diligence to make sure you were not being "had". But you did not do that sufficiently and got taken advantage of. But for all that, you have a nice looking car and with a bit of work on your part you will have a great car that you can be proud of.
He should loose his appraisal license .....To state that was rust free is complete fraud. Especially since he is an appraiser. Yes, Chad should have taken it to a garage and put on a lift to inspect, but if I was told this was rust free knowing I was buying a plane ticket and traveling 2000km, well, lets just say good thing it wasn't me. One thing to sell something as is, but to state rust free to someone traveling 2000km, thats scum.
The biggest issue here is , Chad ultimately bought the car and drove it ( problem free ) all the way home .to Nova Scotia . If any of you think he is going to tear this down and restore / resto-mod this car to the highest level of anything he has ever built ( and go on a long road trip with license plates on it ) , you are sadly going to be disappointed . . Some of you can condemn the vendor all you want but , Jolene and Chad were not held at gunpoint to buy this car .
People can still buy fraudulent safety inspections in every province in Canada, saying that a mechanic wouldn’t risk his license is a fraudulent statement all on its own because we all know a mechanic that would safety a vehicle for 150$.
You had that opportunity ,and you blamed the previous owner. You know better. I still feel you owe an apology. You can't let it go that you made a mistake and wont admit it .
😂 I'm laughing because of how he finally addressed all of the negative comments folks were making. "It's....FFRRRAAUUUDDD...."😂 When the appraiser said, "Well just bring the damn car back..." I would have made a B-line to get my money back. Chad and Jolene probably got one-way tickets based on the phone calls to the owner and the "rust free and certified " add prior to leaving. I mean, you kinda expect some issues when buying a used car that the owner won't disclose, but this is ridiculous! But hey...it makes for GREAT content! 😂
I too experienced the joy of a rip off. Purchased car unseen from USA. Pictures looked amazing, result it was a rust bucket. Took me 12 months of spare time to repair. Caveat emptor (buyer beware) You are entitled to get your money back. False roadworthy certificate.
Certified is a joke as a rule. 40 years certifying different vehicles. 120 to 250 points of inspection. As a rule what I didnt certify as a master mechanic got certified by the sales department. buyer BEWARE!!!
This is all just getting so tiresome now its on you Chad and the guy offered you your money back. 70 plus year old car and you should have looked harder but felt obligated to buy because you had travelled thousands of miles. What really do you expect?
Still whining 😢over the add! Lmfao. I get what you mean about his BS listing! But at the same time I didn't see him holding a gun to your head! I mean u had a bright light and was on the ground, I get you can't see everything but there was alot you seen and looked it over. I would have addressed his listing and showed him his listing was BS! Either a renegotiation on price or I would have walked away!
I was shocked when Chad purchased this vehicle with little more than a cursory look at it. In watching many car build and restoration shows I have watched as they throughly examined every vehicle prior to puchasing them. To include wallowing in mud and worse to verify the sellers statements in regards to the intended purchase. One of the tells for me as regards a problem was when just prior to puchase Chad turned to Jolene and asked if she liked the car, her response was; 'If you do, I do'. After three plus years of watching Chad and Jolene interact it seemed a bit strange that she was not more specific when answering. Chad messed up. Plain and simple. All the whining in the world does not relieve him of the responsibilty of not doing due diligence before purchasing this car. 'It was to close to the wall'. 'How was I to see this, that and the other thing under the car'. Give me a break. You are a professional. I've seen you look, look, and look again before doling out cash. 'Let The Buyer Beware', is the foundational position from which to start the examination of a potential purchase. Just please stop the whining!
@@mritron7649It is obvious that this seller was being less then forthcoming from the beginning of their discussion. And as it went on the little details, such as the way the vehicle was conveniently parked in a way to inhibit a detailed examination As well as nuances in the conversation that should have been triggers. Particularly in the purchasing of vintage vehicles sadly a buyer has to assume that there will be discoveries that the seller will not reveal. They then will claim ignorance of the basis whatever that discovery or the less then truthful advertisement for the sale excluded or embellished. It's was Chad's responsibility to thoroughly examine the vehicle, top to bottom, front to back before purchase. Chad let himself and Jolene down by being flippant in the why he handlec this situation. I have never seen a vehicle purchased by Chad or other similar You Tubers were they didn't get a good look at the undercarriage. The mount that started the downward spiral of discoveries was 6" underneath the vehicle. Chad just needs to accept responsibility for a poorly executed purchase and move on. The whining is a bit much, and is about to run me off. He is even making reference to the situation as he starts the new project.
Its probably already been said but that mount just takes a rubber bushing it does not have a hole and does not bolt to anything the rubber has a lip on the bottom that snaps into that hole ,it just an extra support for when your stepping on it while getting in the car ive done two of these cars i thought the same thing when i did the first one i couldnt figure out why there was no hole in the running board until i bought the new mounts
The guy that sold him the car is fuc ked up to let them believe it was ok to buy and drive home in. All he wanted was the money and didn't care if they drove off the road and died. Wow that so crazy to me.
@@texas512finest If he was selling to a single mother with 4 kids i could see your point. But he sold it to a "custom" car builder with 30 plus years of experience. That had all the time in the world to inspect it. Anytime you buy something used. It is 100% on the buyer to inspect it. Case closed.
He knew it wasn’t as advertised but like he said many times, if he walked away he would have lost $3000. He is able to fix all of this himself so it’s not a huge issue for him but he is showing everyone what can happen
Wow, how about an hour of confession about how Chad should have looked at the car like a professional car guy instead of how he was seduced by advertising.

Would have at least laid on the ground to check the underside, and I'm 85. No excuse for purchasing this thing. Leave it alone.
Am I missing something? You didn’t want to lose out on $3000 so you paid $23,000 for a $10,000 rust bucket?. At the end of the day , you are out 5X’s as much as your initial $3000. Anyways, glad you have the skills to make it right.
“8000k to fix the fenders” yeah, that’s what my time, materials and labor cost would be to someone else. If I was keeping it, then it’s something I work on during periods wher I have some free time and I costs me about 1/16th of that. My time is free when it’s for me.
Chad that style of Ford is beautiful. Glad you and Jolene had a safe experience with no issues. Hope you get to restore it someday or maybe rod it at some point. Be safe, Be Happy and take care of each other. You 2 deserve it for all you do for your loyal fans
Chaddy, He did say, "that you were the one that should have this car". Check the tape! If a couple of people looked at it and didn't pick it up, that was your first indication that something was awry . If it isn't 1947, why didn't the Motor Vehicles Branch pick up on that? If the car came across the Border from the US, the K22 form should have been checked and verified that it is what it is. Consequently, the Canadian and the Ontario Governments let you down on the registration of this car. The serial number should be located on the left front frame horn so you can verify the serial number and year it was made.
Nope, that is not a running board as you are not able to stand on it as can be done on earlier cars. Running boards are quite promenant, this is just a sill. Just imagine, you have been ripped off by a fellow Canadian. What you have is 'Caveat Emptor' (let the buyer beware). I do not know how much you paid for it, but surely you would move the car so you could put a jack under it and do your due diligence. For someone with your experience, it really is your own fault. Fortunately you are just the man with the right skills to fix this body up.
It's not the rust in the fenders that's the big deal, it's the horrible unsafe body work that has to be redone that's a major issue. I would think you could sue Larry for selling such a cobbled up mess as original.
Larry gets a ruined reputation, and Chad gets wiser and is grateful that a person that doesn't have all his skills got it instead. chad will grow and he will more than make up for it on UA-cam videos fixing it up and making it better than Henry Made it in the first place, and with that, we all will learn with him.
I agree with chad 100%, the car was totally described incorrectly, rust free means no rust, however I do feel chad could have walked away from the deal with perfectly good reason especially with his knowledge and experience.
You are a good person, an upright and true man, the road is strewn with potholes and slippery pavements throughout the journey in this life, whatever you find on your way, keep your head high, this confidence in you will guide you to the best. "Remember it is June 6/2023. D-DAY was only 79 years ago today!" All car production stopped in late 1941. The frame under this car could be left over from 1941. In late 1945 car production resumed. Most pre war cars had running broads. After war they moved the body out over the running broads. But most of car manufactures use the frames designs from the pre war cars. They needed to get car production go again.
man was straight out ripped off ...But the paint and body tell the whole story really he should have walked after seeing the bubbling on the rear right fender tha Jolene focused on as the car was pulled onto the lift.
I dont think anyone is saying larry was 100% honest when selling the car. Maybe he is not a mechanic or a body tech. So rust free to him can mean anything. The issue is, you're a custom car builder. A "expert" in body work. Yet you inspected the car and still decided to buy it. Now you have buyers remorse . So You have nobody else to blame but yourself.
@@winstonjunior then I assume you never bought a classic car. I have bought hundreds if not thousands. And everytime someone's says "rust free" i found rust. There comes a time when you have to suck it up buttercup. You should have accepted the seller's offer to return your money and suck up the travel expense. After all, you did agree to buy it sight unseen or even after you saw it in person. Move down the road or you will be talking about certification for the rest of your life. I have a much worse experience some years ago with buying a car sight unseen, and I just dealt with it and moved on to bigger and better things. But it looks like this will be a thorn in your claw for the rest of your life. You might be in the wrong business, if something like this affects you so much.
Not talking about any visible outside body panels, fenders, hood, doors, deck lid, roll pans, etc. Just the rust of the underside of that 47 will count up to 10 grand very fast. Then when you start peeling the rust parts off you'll likely find another 5 to 10 grand of rust repair. I'm a person that doesn't like Chad's customs. I'm 100% with him if you call 47 Ford an absolute RUST BUCKET. I've been sold a couple cars that were pigs in lip stick.
I said it might be running board mount's. But now the car has been put on the ramp. You can see there is bad repairs done in the passed. Its not been advertised correctly. If you advertised rust free you would need to be 100 per cent. And needed to know the car

Chad, Instead of 2,000.00 to fix each fender, Why not get new fenders for around 500.00 each. Then you would have four brand new fenders, and these fenders are readily available from a few different suppliers and are EXACT as original and fit perfectly. I know this because I have used them, more than once.
Chad you are an experienced car builder and customizer. I would expect you to know better, what to look for and what to avoid. Mechanically, we all know you are not an engine builder or gearbox rebuilder. But, anyone can tell a smooth engine from a misfire and a noisey gearbox from a quiet one. I do accept that there are less than honest sellers. However, someone with your knowledge must accept your own failure for not doing a proper inspection. No good bad mouthing the seller when as a professional your inspection skills are as bsd as the sellers description of the vehicle.
did you not crawl under it ? check out the floors? trunk?. you know cars, and we have no clue what you paid. That same car sold here on the east coast of the us would be a great survivor
The seller did misrepresented it. But he stated RECENT not current certification according to you. With your level of amazing skill why would you give it just a casual inspection? Why did you not move it away from the wall? For the amount you spent you should have driven it to a garage and put it on a lift . With all due respect I think you are caught up in a car buying frenzy lately. 15K is what it would cost to have a shop fix it. I am sure it would cost you a lot less. All of us have gotten duped at one time or another. I support your channel and watch all of your videos a long time subscriber.
Sometimes even a smart car guy gets taken, its repairable, its still a beautiful car, but the best part of this video in my opinion is when you showed you were humble and thinking of those that have just endured tradgedy, good to hear some people can still lick their wounds count their blesings and still think of others and move on! Thank you!
You could have walked away from the deal, Chad. No shame in that at all. Stop the blame train here. You bought it. Appreciate the lesson on what to look for in older cars, but move on from this. Nobody likes to get burned, Chad.
Chad is the only certifiable thing that should be addressed! He should have done his own due diligence at time of purchase as the seller would have let him!

You definitely got hosed and seller misrepresented the condition of the car . Too bad you didn’t get an experienced body man to take a look at before buying 😮
Imagine having it shipped to Australia...($10k) then finding this out. This would be a 'body off' repair here...and probably the best part of $50k to get fixed! Good old 'Larry the Liar'.
@@jimmieroan9881 You have to be a bigger sucker than Chad was to believe Larry didn't lie. He lied about "original". He lied about "Rust free". He lied about "Recently certified." The man is an appraiser; an appraiser's job is to know whether those things are true or not.
I bought a car in Australia, from a dealer, described as 'truly wonderful' condition and phrases like that. Took it for inspection, they gave 4 pages of stuff to fix before they would even look at it properly. Told me it would be 7000 to do that much on a car that I paid 8k for. I complained to dealer who said tough luck and he didn't believe he was required to describe accurately in ads. So I gave negative feedback on his web ads. He was on the phone immediately begging me to retract as it was 'costing him sales'! I said only if you take car back and refund. I got 95% refund... ONLY because I had that feedback power. You lied in this video saying that you never said the missing body mounts were crucial. On your trip you repeatedly said the car was unsafe to drive because the body mounts were missing. You bought the car and you only have yourself to blame. Please stop trying to blame the seller.
Chad my man, you are a stand-up guy. How you resist not contacting the mechanic who "certified" that car is beyond me. The negative comments that I'm reading here are out of line. You sound like you were raised to honor a mans word and rely in the trust of a mans handshake. You should always take a used car (especially an old one) to a shop and have it looked at before you buy it. You spent $23000 on the word of the owner you never met before. Plus if you had read the certification you would of seen it was expired. This is all on you. Don't blame anyone else.
Oh my gosh! So no accountability to the Fraud liar right? Do you think maybe hes done this before? Its amazing to me how these kind of peoples actions are just accepted.

Well Chad, I'm an auto mechanic, and I get very upset with my customers that buy cars without putting it on a lift first.

There is no hole in the frame is a clue to what and how that is for. The L bracket has a hard rubber pad that supports the running boards. A center bolt fastens the rubber bushing to the bracket and the running board sits firmly on top of the rubber pad. The seller flaunt the fact that he was an appraiser to help bait the buyer in to screw them over.

You are indeed a blessed man. And so is Jolene, as she accompanies you on this same path. We love you both.
A lier and cheat dishorners our fallen heros that gave their lives for the country
So sick of the complaining. You inspected it BEFORE you bought it 32:47
then don't watch...move on.
I thought you were over this …but apparently you’re still bellyaching. You could’ve and should’ve inspected the throughly.
man was straight out ripped off ...But the paint and body tell the whole story really he should have walked after seeing the bubbling on the rear right fender tha Jolene focused on as the car was pulled onto the lift.
Shouldn’t have bought it. Didn’t he offer your money back? I’m a restorer in the UK, that’s a major job. Good luck!
He did say to bring it back and would give your money back.
Rust free means rust free...
@@winstonjunior then I assume you never bought a classic car. I have bought hundreds if not thousands. And everytime someone's says "rust free" i found rust. The average person does not even know where or how to look for rust. This is why it is up to the BUYER to inspect before purchasing. Do you buy a house without getting it inspected? So then why buy a 80 year old car without the same inspection?
@@srfjay you are right. i have bought a few vintage cars... definitely not as much as you have and i jack up and put jack stands so i get under. But a former "cop" to lie about that needs to be called out. once again you are correct though...
You had your chance to inspect it. Don’t cry now 😢
Poor Chad
Chad, the seller knew what he had. Karma will kick him right between the legs when he least expects it. A lesson learned by all.
You "Karma" people slay me.
That's got to be the most naïve statement I've ever heard. What used car salesman has not lied to the buyer? You have got to be kidding.
You are so right Chad. It is for sure a body mount. I am building a 1941 Ford Coupe frame off restoration right now. I have be building cars for over 40 years so I feel your pain. I WOULD BE PISSED !!! Your a better man than me the way you are handling things. Keep up the great work Chad, love your videos !
Those are not body mounts, they going by the diagram are running board mounts, as all of the body mounts are between the chassis and the body.
Chad, quit beating this horse.
I think he lost subscribers over it.
Chad , who is Phil ?
@@williamwinsor7376 over what getting ripped off , fool !
@@williamwinsor7376 Go away then , sweet pea !
@@davidcrawford5711 I believe he got ripped off and don’t blame him and I really like his channel but I noticed he lost some but he will get more. Some act before they think. I won’t leave his channel he’s one of my favorites.
I think you have more of a chance getting hurt from that car falling on you with that lift that the safety locks are not working on then you did on the drive home missing a couple of body mount bolts
Chad could have used a magnet like the guy suggested. No hate , just pointing it out.
Actual Chad said he bought anyway because of the 3k he spent on flights and hotels.
A 3k loss is a lot better than a 26k loss. He should quit complaining about a car he paid for. The guy also was willing to give him his money back.
In ohio we call it getting burned ... that sucks
Agree 100 percent how can he sleep at knight if I would be him I would give the money back and I would get my pack of rust back in my garage in Ontario
Here we go again round 2 it's a rust 🪣
Give it up Chad - you are responsible but cant give it up. I give up on watching - it makes me uncomfortable - plus there is an old man who is getting your venom .
Yet you still clicked on the video. You've not "given up" watching
It’s terrible that he’s actually doing this to the old guy.. shows his lack education. He should stop, they are showing their true colours..
@@thinkfaster6451😂😂😂 are you serious. Yeah...that poor old LIAR!
@@thinkfaster6451 If the old man wasn't a liar, it wouldn't be happening. You wouldn't say that if u spend $3000 in airfare and hotel to buy a car that was said to be rust free and got this piece of crap.
@@Thundertef You dont get it.. stop while you’re ahead..
Chad, Instead of 2,000.00 to fix each fender, Why not get new fenders for around 500.00 each. Then you would have four brand new fenders, and these fenders are readily available from a few different suppliers and are EXACT as original and fit perfectly. I know this because I have used them, more than once.
It's a 1946, the 47 has it's parklights down lower
Guess you have to do more homework before you take it home, life lessons
I can't watch this if it's going to be another baich session.
If there's rust on the upper side there's always a shit load more underneath
Borescope , mirror and a small digital camera.wait till you look inside the doors. Had the same 47 in high school 55 years ago but was in great shape. Good luck.
He lied about "Recently certified." He lied about "needs nothing." How many do you need to acknowledge the facts? I'm confident he lied about other things too. The man is an appraiser; an appraiser's job is to know whether those things are true or not.
@@jimmieroan9881 Larry lied, dollars died.
@liamgross7217 you mean...thoroughly checked by a retired cop whom is a car appraiser? Someone you would think you can trust? 🤣🤣👍
@@howquick His fatal error? A purchaser with a huge UA-cam following..
I think you're doing the right thing. Helping educate an entirely new group of car buffs to reality of buying an antique car.
BINGO ! I can assure you well over half of his audience can learn from this .
No, he didn’t.
You have to realize 98% of these old cars have been repaired. All original and rust free are super rare.
Ya Think ...
Otherwise he would have done nothing and the legal people I spoke to said not worth trying to sue over the ad.
So if you took the time to read that.... BE WARY! Trust noone.
You should have spent more time looking at the car then buddy’s garage walls. You should have looked under the car, but looked like you didn’t want to get dirty. Trust nobody
OMG, have you ever heard of the term buyers beware? You bought it, you should have done a better job inspecting it.
I feel bad about what happened to you, but have no doubt that you'll return this car to its former glory. As long as you keep posting videos, I'll be here to watch them. Good luck!
I’m with you 100%Chad and I know exactly what you’re saying. Life never stops teaching us lessons and this one was a hard one to learn. Sadly You just can’t trust anybody anymore
yep! we tend to be moving into a post truth world ... however the seller here did offer a money back solution.
Chad I watch every show! But Chad I'm from California....where they call it the "California cars"....nothing is perfect even here....unless you want a frame off?....get it running good and call it a day! ....keep the videos coming ...we love your work in California!
