Today I go over the last few weeks of major quest 2 updates. I cover Update V50, Update V51, Update V52, Update V53, along with some of the huge new quest 2 games releasing now. Check out my other videos for VR Tips & Tricks, Top 10's & News.

My channel is about VR Content (obviously lol) I've covered many topics on this channel in the past such as PC Building, PC Gaming Knowledge, Gaming News. That can be CPM rates, Industry knowledge, Business knowledge, how to edit, how to build a gaming PC, budget or not. But VR is cooler so I'm probably gonna keep doing that.

Lying down mode is the most interesting update to me since the Quest 2 launched.
Agreed! I always flip the camera in the apps I make for fun because lying down just feels awesome.

I'm still stuck on v51 on both headsets and the PC side. Won't be the first time I've skipped forward through time but I wouldn't complain if v53 landed soon. I would love to try out the reclined VR experience to watch some content, hopefully my vestibular system won't short out and make me pay for it.
Me too, i even tried forcing it to update.

@@Parker-Sloan it's weird how they roll them out. I could understand rolling them out a day or two apart so the servers don't get hammered by every headset trying to update at once but there's no excuse for everyone to be on different versions all the time.

The Quest 2 is gonna last for a while, its literally the best selling vr headset ever, meta isnt THAT stupid.. it will have support for much longer than the original quest did

Considering the reputation Meta tried to abandon by changing their name from Facebook, and which they now seem to be actively fostering by buying, then dismantling former competitors, I think it's seriously misplaced... but I appreciate it.

Hopefully it's like the Q2 launch where the original is supported for a while. I'll definitely be getting the Quest 3 but I have two Quest 2s right now. Would be nice to have enough headsets for both of the kids and myself to get into Rec Room and Pop One and stuff together.

Haven’t used my Quest 2 in months so I sold it for 300 duckets to a lucky VR noob, they got a sweet deal coming with a bobovr pro 2. I’ll come back to the ecosystem once they release the MQ3

Same got my 2 weeks ago my welcome 25 just expired but I snagged beat Saber my brother mentioned that's the only vr game he would wanna join and I plan on buying everything on steam but it's nice to Air link wirelessly beat Saber to the living room and chilling with bro slicing beats

Lying down mode is a fucking lifesaver for disabled people. From people who are bedridden to people with limited energy (severe chronic fatigue, for example) - or people who just spend alot of time in hospital beds... I wish it came out way sooner. Maybe my disabled partner could have gotten into VR sooner

laying down mode would be a great feature for people who have issues with mobility below the neck.

Can't lay down with anything other than the default straps though because of dials in the back. Unless anyone has ideas to make it work.

I have version 53 but don't seem to have lying down mode, not sure why... Will it work with Bigscreen?
i've been thinking about getting a VR headset, it'll be my first time with VR and my budget is fairly low, would the quest 2 be my best option or should i wait for quest 3, the extra performance from quest 3 wont really matter much to me since it'll be plugged into my pc and using my pc's hardware instead.
If i like VR i might get full body trackers, though its expensive, so that'll have to wait until i save up some more money, speaking of full body trackers, would the SlimeVR trackers be worth getting, considering that they're probably gonna be way cheaper than most other options?
The game i'll be playing most will probably be VRChat since i have some friends that play it, so i'll probably be hanging out with them.

lol release notes for me shows v50 Feb 21, and v53 dated April 27 2023, but no notes for v51. My headset auto updated to v51 but not v53.
You should do a video on meta quest pro to see wether the issues that it came with at launch have improved or not
Can someone help, when I play in link after playing for like 10 minutes link freezes and I gotta unplug the cable and hook it up again then dose the same thing every time
Sadest thing is that one update ruined my cracked games and they always crash
Vr really needs a serious push by a company, none of the crappy gimicks that meta had done forever now, it deserves better, WE deserve better.
There are companies doing that, unfortunately most of them aren’t very affordable because the companies like Microsoft and Facebook that DO make affordable hardware are super behind because of their interest in gimmicks
Sony is the only other leader, but I have confidence they are sincere about this tech, despite its shortcomings, & I believe it will prove to be formidable once again

I mean, I can see chilling in my bed playing a simple game to wind down (yes I see the doctor's advice to turn off all your stuff, but I sleep with music blaring through my headphones. I really don't care what they say)

some reason, theres a bug with v53, that whenever i am in a dark area inside the headset, that being steam vr or any dark game, there is a strange white pixelated tearing effect in the right side of my screen. if anyone can help me, please do because I desperate for a fix.

I've had the first hand game for like 4 months and it's very fun
I just wish they sold little bracelets to give some haptic feedback with hand tracking. Maybe even just use a smartwatch or a fitbit or something to get a little buzz out of a touch. I love the idea of hand tracking but I need some kind of haptics.

Its in v53 update. Check Accessibility settings, under Mobilty, and see if you have Lying Down Mode there.

So i ordered an Meta quest 2 off meta store and for some reason I didn’t come. So I checked in with customer support and they said that they were having server problems and to be patient, so this went on for a month, and I can’t get a refund because they say that the money may not come back, any ideas what to do
If you ordered it with credit card, you might be able to contact your bank about this instead. Although it is been quite a time already so not sure if it will work

5:50 I still question why said studios are happy to get acquired by these megacorporations. If you are a public traded company, you have no choice. But not every studio is in that position. Yet they do go through these acquisition deals, which makes no sense.
It makes sense as most of them do it for the money.

No. He does not know what end of a lifecycle means. End of manufacturing is more likely but that does not really change anything. Even PS4 is still getting new games
