probably a greater improvement on your silver car than on my red one, but whatever the case, the improvement is remarkable. apparently, porsche didn't even like the look after two years on the 987.1 and made it the most significant visual change in the 987.2 version. kudos to the clever and aesthetically astute fellow that created them.
I would like to see a night shot to show how well the LED's preform compared to the standard fog light. They appear to be more cosmetic than functional.
Doug Stevenson Hi Doug! These LEDs are much brighter than the original dingy yellow fog lights. These LEDs will definitely make me more visible in fog or at night compared to the dull crappy original ones!
Hey Brad. I’m just looking at buying my wife one. Like most car freaks I’m already compiling my mod list. So I couldn’t have found you at a better time. That’s one on my list FOR SURE. I’ve got a Cayenne Turbo with hybrid turbos, all new indication, decats and exhaust mods and a tune. Supposedly running 800 bop but I don’t think it is. I’ve gotta get stronger springs in the new dump vales. Any way just in case looking for a really fantastic but cheap brake kit? Go check out XYZ brakes. Amazing kit for your car. If you’ve got an email or some way of getting a pic to you I’ll show you then on my mates Cayman like yours who’s the owner of the Porsche specialist that does my servicing. You’ll love em. Nice job.
Hi good vid like it I replaced mine some two and a half years ago now as you say great for added protection on ye rads led lights look and so much brighter on the down side only lasted 6month and led went off boo hoo got intouch with joe was great replacement set was sent to me all he asked was I email him a vid of breaking the old pair which I did what's dishearting now is the 2nd pair have gone the same way out of warranty now so bought some stick on leds to go above the old ones as I do like the mesh grill for rad protection so disappointing as should have lasted at lot longer i think .Bob
Hi Brad, what has your experience been with these Spar Lights? they look great but my concern is the same as the comment by scooter6958 below in your comments about this video, what has been your experience? I have read across the net and with other You tubers, that the reliability is a big question mark with these Spar lights, its great that Joe replaces them real quick, but to be honest I really don't want to keep taking them off and replacing them periodically
Nick Kinson Hello Nick. I have had two of the LEDs die and Joe replaced. Currently they’re working fine but I think I’ll just unplug them if they go again as I like the radiator protection.
@@BradPhilpot Yes I must admit I like the rad protection, I might get some and not use the lights, but then there is also Zunsport who also do the rad protection grills in steel, Silver or Black and retain the original fog lights, did u consider Zunsport?
Personally I think the original Porsche ones look right, your new ones just don't suit the car at all imo. Remember it's a 15yr old car and it's a really smart car , don't ruin it. Never understand why things like this are called "upgrades" , to me it's sideways at best but more usually a downgrade and a good way to devalue your car.
They are , you're right but some whiter bulbs might be a better option than doing , (I think). If you like them that's fine but I don't think they suit the rest of the car , Porsche are pretty good at designing cars. It is reversible I suppose so might be a good idea to fit the original ones if and when you sell your car. I have the same car and totally love it.
@@stephenauty2402 the whitest ones still look yellow unless you get an LED upgrade which is irreversible work. I’ve kept the old ones for when I sell it, but I honestly hate what they look like as standard. Looks like the car is wearing goggles
It's just personal choice I guess , if you like them , that's great. The only thing I've done is a Carnewal exhaust which to me is perfect and it's the original exhaust too..oh and Alcantara steering wheel by Royal Steering wheels (covered my one) ..looks great but is not very grippy and too fat as they cover your leather one.
Can you use these on a boxster????

Do these fit Porsche 987 Boxster S 2008 too?
Were the LEDs plug and play, or did you need to sauter them together? Did you get any error code on your dashboard for light bulb out?
Pls create a video about your headlight bulb upgrade
Big improvement 👍 it gives the car a sleeker more modern look but it‘s still only a subtle change if that makes sense
Falko Schmidt Thanks Falko!
Big improvement 👍
Superb vlogs Brad , super clear oratory no nonsense...fantastic
Great video, will be making the upgrade on my Cayman S. Thanks for sharing

In bright daylight I dislike the LEDspars, because you can see the original struts behind them. It looks like a cheap aftermarket mod.
zip ties not for me
is that what you tell you fiance? 'iTs fOR reLiAbilITy' lol
Those led stripes are nor good bro
Lukáš Nejedlý I like them 🤷🏻♂️
it's not an upgrade if it looks cheap af.

The original ones are really dim and yellow and make it look extremely dated in my opinion.
