If you're looking for not a too sci fi, sci fi book, I would check out Empire of Silence and/or Leviathan Wakes. Both awesome (and of course part one of a book series) but not too much boring science-ey stuff that up until recently, a lot of sci fi books unfortunately had. But then I discovered a few sites, Recaptains or bookseriesrecaps. They are absolutely amazing!! The name already says it, they provide recaps of books, and those recaps come in really handy! Maybe you already knew the sites and you don't like them, but otherwise they're worth a try!

The Light Between Worlds sounds like Every Heart a Doorway (which I have yet to read 😬) but the concept is so unique and interesting I'm not even complaining. we need even more books about that

I have read The Light Between Worlds. The story is driven more by the sisterhood and sprinkled in with magical elements, but the writing is fantastic and the heartache shines through.
Dance of Thieves looks so so good, always a sucker for a good cover. Totally in love with the concept and the other cover of Smoke Thieves. I want to read TBDATE but it has to be when I’m ready to be sad cause I get the feels it’s going to be heartbreaking. Totally love how you described Damsel and want to add it to my TBR

there are websites out there dedicated to recapping books so you don’t have to do any rereads. i personally recommend recaptains or bookseriesrecaps! i’m 100% they’d have them for at least a torch against the night
Try reading slower. That might help you remember the books you read. I'm a slow reader because of a brain injury but because I read slower I take in the story easier. I can remember every book I've read in the past 8 years. I read around 25 books per year
Me too but your brain can be trained to remember things in different ways. I can't speak for everyone because everyone is different and the way my brain receives information is different to most. You're good at colour coordinating your books which means your brain remembers colours. Try highlighting important passages with different coloured sticky notes (IE: red for emotion, green for plot, blue for characters, etc) and see if that helps. Then you'll have all of the basic parts of your books highlighted if you need to go back to find references. During my rehabilitation learning colours was a big part in how my brain processes information now. The more you practice, you'll find something that works for you. Speaking to an occupational therapist or a preach therapist could help. They can give you techniques and ways to remember better
The DC Icon series run as stand-alones so you don't have to read Batman to continue on. I had to ask people too because I wasnt interested in Batman and was just interested in reading Wonderwoman and Catwoman.
Her writing style is witty and fun and her books are nearly impossible for me to put down so if you do get a chance to read a Morgan Matson book soon I am sure that you will enjoy it a lot. I have read all of her books that she has written so far and I have really enjoyed reading them. Hopefully you enjoy reading her books just as much as I have.
@@kookykasiareads2587 All of them were really good. The first one that I ever read was Amy and Roger's Epic Detour and I really enjoyed it a lot but all of them were really good. I would reccomend reading Second Chance Summer because it was her first book and because nearly every character in her past books end up appearing in her next books which is something that is really cool to me. But all of her books are really great and which ever one you choose to read I am sure you will enjoy it.

I have catwoman too You should read the batman one. You should watch the movies. Catwoman wasn't a superhero. She was a villain technically. She was always stealing things. I'm the same way with sequels. I want to read geekerella.
I've read The Smoke Thieves and it was ok, but not mind-blowing. For an epic fantasy, if it's meant to be in that genre, I expect the author to step up her game in the 2nd book. I mean it is YA, but still I needed more from it, even the title felt misleading in a way, because the smoke thieves wasn't as big of a plot point as I expected it to be. I read TBDATEand liked it, originally gave it four stars, but now I'm feeling it's closer to a 3-3.5 for me.
i always write down what happened in a book if it is part of a series so i can go back and read it before getting into the next book because i always forget everything
this question might be oo personal, but you're sometimes sent ARCs of books from Chapters Indigo; are all of those only because you're a BookTuber, or do you also get some of them because you work there? AKA: do full-time bookstore clerks get ARCs?
When I don't remember what happened in the book that is part of the series, I read a spoiler review on Goodreads. Usually it is enough ;)

I read The Traitor’s Game earlier this year & I feel the same way. It was a good book but didn’t give me anything new in fantasy.
