It's insane how many things Sheryl Swoops gets wrong in one interview, only to somehow completely change the subject, make it about herself, and still get so much wrong
"My childhood best friend was white" made me laugh. That's the most standard excuse of racists. She played the "I have a friend who is black/asian/latino/etc" card.
I met Sheryl Swoops years ago when I was a teenager working at the mall in Houston. She came into my store and asked me to grab something for her off of a shelf that the same height as her. I joked about it and said that she was just as tall as me but I would love to help. (I'm 6'1) She got an attitude about it and I told her I was only kidding and she got mad and said that I wouldn't have said that to white man. I told her that's ridiculous and it became an attack on my character and I told her that I have the same joking attitude towards all people. This whole conversation went on for 15 minutes until I finally convinced her that I'm not some racist white guy I'm just a stupid kid. She ended up taking a photo with me and apologized but man was it a very intense moment.
It's insane how racist they can be all while being the "victim". Not to say these things can't go both ways but the fact that she can go into a situation like that with a racist mindset and filter and yet still be the victim because she's not white.
@michaelgonzalez3523 Yeah for real, i was just 16 at the time too so i was like are people really like this? Turns out, yeah. ALOT of people are like this.
That's wild to even think. But that's usually where education comes in to play. They were only educated being told in inner city, black schools that they are the victims of slavery and racism from white people. Never being told about the entire slave trade. And that white people were enslaved by the ottomans on boats. If you compare slavery from around the world and how each country that participated treated their slaves, you would find that united states actually had less of a turnover on slaves than any other country intrigued them welb better than any other participant of the slave trade. Furt. Hermore, this woman does not know that racism has existed outside the united states. You wanna meet some of the most racist people go to any Asian country? They are so racist towards any outsiders that they are even more racist towards their own people if they do not lineup and stay in check with the culture. So if they decide to date outside, their race is a big no no. Asian countries are so racist that there are literal places that you and I as a westerner are not allowed to go to because of the color of our skin because we are not from there. Could you imagine America saying Hey, Mexicans? You're not allowed to come to this place because this is for americans only. Lol.
I played hockey for 9 years and it’s wild to me how other sports fans get so mad about trash talk, in hockey it’s not only expected but it literally is integral to some people’s play style
Right you are... this guy Patrick is clueless about a lot of things. Like ignoring that CC's receiving a full 17% of all the flagrant fouls in the entire league (most from the Chicago ghettogirls) is a plain injury danger. If Larry Bird had received that many in his first year in the NBA, sure, the team would have retaliated for the first several, but if it continued at that pace with no suspensions and fines, the Boston dynasty owners would have had commissioner Larry O'Brien's head on a pike in Boston City Plaza (or at least gotten him fired for incompetence).

Something good happens to a woman who could be the spark to make a real change, and a lot of the other women involved do everything they can to drag her down. Feels bad.
That's the way that women are towards each other, unfortunately. I'm a woman & have had horrible experiences with "friends" who were women when I was younger. @@tylerfearrin5186I agree and find it super uncomfortable when people don’t realise the inherent problem with their argument. People might as well start calling the other players ratchet. Basketball is filled with overconfident players, it’s part of the sport, so is being harsh and super-competitive, no one thought it was a problem until Caitlin Clark and that’s a big reason why a lot of people, you know the actual fans of the sport, find this entire situation irritating. Just because a lot of people didn’t watch women’s basketball before, it doesn’t mean it didn’t exist. People can like her for being a good player, but this nonsense about how the WNBA wasn’t real or would have collapsed without Clark needs to stop. And half these people were not drawn to the WNBA simply because of Clark, had nobody starting throwing accusations of players not liking her because she’s white they wouldn’t have even known she existed unfortunately, this has more to do with perceived “anti-white” racism than it actually has to do with basketball. The financial argument is just used to cover their tracks.

It’s absolutely wild to say she isn’t the only reason people are talking about the WNBA. She’s the ONLY reason we are talking about it right now. If it was just angel reese nobody would be saying a word. Sad but true.
The fact these women got angry at Caitlin for making a living for herself in the sports instead of using that as the opportunity to unite and force a substantial payrise across the league is so depressing.
25:07 - saying black people can't be racist is borderline dangerous behavior. Anybody of any race can be racist, you don't get a free pass to disparage a group of people based on their skin tone or belief system, ever. I'm not saying she's being racist, I don't think at all that she is, but that statement in itself is simply wrong.
i like that u listed statistics near the end, evidence is important in this because people want to pretend this is a subjective topic, it isnt, the attendance, the viewership, everything points to clark for lack of a better term saving the wnba
Black players were literally showing their negative Stereotypes when they assaulted her during the game, and find creative ways to make them look like the victim. And NO ONE and not even the COACHES are condemning this behavior.
There are things I really can’t wrap my head around when considering the whole situation, for example: 1) why did Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese or any other female basketball athlete receive so much backlash for talking smack? It is so common (and even praised, since it makes things so much more entertaining) in the NBA, I really don’t get this 2) why do people even hate on Caitlin making money with endorsements? She is probably the most exciting female player of all times, and the money she’s making perfectly reflects the attention she’s bringing to the female basketball league 3) female players and legends getting angry at Caitlin because they make less money is simply dumb… none of them managed to get people hooked enough on the WNBA product in order for it to make even a single 1$ profit over its history…

What I’ve learned is that no matter what you do in the sports business, be it UFC, NCAA, MLB, etc, is that you’re gonna experience hate and discontent amongst viewers. If you’re boring but good, you’ll be judged harshly for that (ex. Early career Colby Covington), and if you stir things up, you’ll garner dislike from another group of people (bad attitude, racism, sexism, poor sportsmanship, etc). Just be yourself because no matter your actions, you’ll always have have a group who love you and a group who dislike you. That goes for everyday life too

1) why did Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese or any other female basketball athlete receive so much backlash for talking smack? It is so common (and even praised, since it makes things so much more entertaining) in the NBA, I really don’t get this
2) why do people even hate on Caitlin making money with endorsements? She is probably the most exciting female player of all times, and the money she’s making perfectly reflects the attention she’s bringing to the female basketball league
3) female players and legends getting angry at Caitlin because they make less money is simply dumb… none of them managed to get people hooked enough on the WNBA product in order for it to make even a single 1$ profit over its history…
They hate her cuz they ain't her.
Great questions
They say all rookies get treated this way.... I have yet to see any post of Reese getting treated remotely close to what CC has endured.
Google it they are plenty ,it just doesn’t get publici
@@nezer993 By her team or other teams? Like has her team not had her back on the court like CC or has other teams came after her? I've not seen that happen or heard of that happening to AR.
Reese getting treaty badly for the things she said herself not because of her skin color or who she is… that’s the difference. She’s jealous of CC. You can clearly see by her interviews and things she saysx
@kyliesmith7903 this isn't hockey. There's no enforcer in basketball. You guys genuinely know nothing about the sport
@@125loopy ok
Angel Reese complaining about double standards is hilarious. The double standard is there because Caitlin Clark is literally a generational talent. You are not the same. You won't be treated the same, nor should you be. I know it's a tough pill to swallow for people who dedicated their entire lives to something, but if there's someone MULTITUDES better, you gotta humble yourself and step aside.
It’s crazy people are making 300k a year to play bb and are complaining. Meanwhile average Americans are making ~60k and completely struggling.
Tippy top salaries in the WNBA are well under 250k, rookies get around $70 k
@@markyg236 once again people that have a job that is literally playing with a ball have 0 right to complain go contribute to society in a meaningful way.
Caitlin is by far the best thing to ever happen to the WNBA
Isn't she trans??!
Ironically cause "she" is a biological male lol
@@BIGFOOT-ENT. It shows from her shoulders and arms too wide and long for female

@@BIGFOOT-ENT. Dude i saw 10 comments like that having no likes. Go watch porn, this is not for you. 😂😂
Looks like a bunch of bitter old women who are WAY too jealous of this young woman and are clearly way too busy counting all her successes and comparing them to their failures. Only to throw out the race card at every opportunity.
hmmm they wouldnt be as mad or upset if people would look their way so their alwaysss going to be second place and then they got the internet talking shi about them so yeah their mad if it was me id be mad asl too
Its crazy how full of themselves a lot of those players are. They just can't seem to admit that someone else does something better than them.
As black ppl why do we feel we have to tear down caitlyn every chance we get I hate that so much 🤦🏾♂️
The same reason why you fight in McDonalds or live on benefits
@@Kepchok318what’s the reason?
@ it’s the handicap genetics of blacks
25:11 this lady is insufferable
She just mad her career never went anywhere
sounds about white
Yea. She sounds dumb af. I'm tired of the "can't be racist" thing also. Regardless if it's racist... it's still negative and spiteful. So define it however you want... either way she's just mad her career fell off.
I’m black and I swear down I didn’t give a bollocks about wnba until Clark pushed up to the scene, she’s going to be the Steph of the WNBA. She’s madness. ✨🎸
They mad cuz she talk shit and back it up
I love how Catlin handles all the hate she so classy wit it 💯

Just looked for this comment
24:18 Sheryl is so petty and bitter.
was literally about to comment the same thing as i saw it!
Her haters say she's getting all this attention not because of her skills but her looks.
What looks ? 🤷♂️🤣
That goes for everyday life too
Damned if you do damned if you don't

Except if you're Jon Jones.. then you should stop being yourself..

Any single person in the entire world can be racist. It’s always a wild thing to hear when someone says “insert race can’t be racist”. If you’re a HUMAN, you can absolutely be racist. Some people need to do some serious reflecting man.
Then they try to pull out the "noo you need power to be racist!!!" As if racism isn't literally just "discrimination or prejudice based on the race of another" fucking tools
Don’t watch sports much but seeing how much she revived the WNBA is incredible. Definitely a legend for the history books.
CC is the Eminem of basketball. If you don't let her cook, she will anyway.
I don't think Clark grew up around Urban black people like Eminem. Clark didn't grow up in 8 Mile
8:13 this is wrong. CC was doing it to their strength coach. Plus her and HVL are friends, and Haley came out afterwards defending Caitlin for doing that. Please do better research
It’s so insane that people purposefully leave this fact out, but without it they wouldn’t be able to craft their racism narrative.
I was gonna post this same thing. Horrible research to still be pushing this false narrative.
So wait, you’re telling me this dude did less research than I did for a 9th grade English paper?
@@mattyaboi1653 far, far less

Saying that black people are not racist is wild. Which ever colour you are, there are people the same colour who are racist.

Yeah but black people Love victim mentality dopamine, it's like a drug for Gen z minorities.
