Good choice. Love both breeds, I had a dogo that died last year of a snake bite. I live near the mountains and used my dog for hog hunting. Most loyal dog ever, if you ever find your self moving to a place with more spice, you should get a Dogo at some point. You will love the Dogo.

I love the dogo argentino I'm torn between a dogo argentino and a borboel as my next breed but I agree with you considering what you were looking for. The dogo has a high prey drive definitely great with kids but when there prey switch clicks on I feel sorry for the prey cause the dogo means business and is a true working breed dog that honestly should be worked to help channel his energy and drive from time to time.
The prey drive comes from the Irish Wolfhound and Terrier in them! Dogo's may have such a long life span because so many breeds were used to create them. Beautiful dogs!
Everyone said I was crazy for getting a Dogo for my first dog and even more crazier because I got not 1 but 2. I totally get why people dont advise them for first time owners. However when you realise how affectionate they are you cant help but go that extra mile for your dogos. I constantly get complements for the way I have raised them lookswise and temperament.
Darth Veda same here I got a dogo as my first big dog and his name is Wade I’m 14. And he was hard to train but is amazing now a big cuddlebug around the family but not so nice with people he doesn’t know
@@darth_veda you have to be very careful with what dogs you socialize your dogo with. Sometimes your dogo just might be too aggressive with other dogs. Also you NEED to get him professionally trained.
@@johnhunt9674 I'll be creating a channel for my dogs soon you can check it out and let me know where I'm going if at all. Just spent a month with them in Kashmir and they loved every minute of it. They are very well behaved unfortunately they like me do not tolerate any aggression shown towards them. They had to put a few dogs in their place. I had to socialise them whilst they were puppies and that has resulted in very friendly Dogs. The general rule with my dogs is that as long as you dog is coming to play they will never attack first however once bitten they usually have a tear up that ends badly for the other dogs.
I respect your deep thinking before you made your decision on which breed was best for you. I wish everyone would put more thought into getting a dog. I have had Dobermans and Pitbull type dogs all my life and a couple years ago I got myself a male Dogo puppy. He is now about 2 1/2 years old and is 29 inches and 130 pounds. I absolutely love this breed. He is very smart, protective yet gentle and easy to train. Physically he is a beast. He is incredibly strong while still being fast and agile. I have trained dozens of Rottweilers and many are great dogs. Locally we had problems with them biting the owners when they were not up to the task of controlling such a strong-willed powerful dog. I also agree with you about the size of a good Rottie. I think 120 pounds is perfect for a working Rottie. They are much faster and more athletic at that size than the giant 150-pound examples. Thanks for the video and keep them coming.
As someone that has owned multiple of both breeds (3 Dogo’s and 2 Rottweilers), I don’t see myself ever getting another Rottweiler. That being said, there are some big advantages of each depending on what your use of the dog is. The Dogo is a dog of many extremes and are NOT for everyone. For almost all traits they are at the extreme end of the spectrum. Dogo Argentino’s are more intelligent, more obedient, have a higher desire to please and much, much more affectionate. If the dog is going to be alone all day while you’re at work the Rott is a better choice. Dogo’s want to be with you 24/7 and it makes them sad to be alone. They’re the most co-dependent breed I’ve encountered and they NEED to be a part of a pack. Do NOT get a dogo as an only dog and plan to crate them while you’re at work. If you’re a first time dog owner, the Rottweiler is probably a better choice because while the dogo is more intelligent and more obedient with correct training/owner, they are significantly more dominant/strong willed. Dogo’s are easier to train more commands and harder tasks because they’re more intelligent and have a higher desire to please but they’re less forgiving for inexperienced trainers. The dogo is commonly used in many countries for police work and search/rescue. I would give the Dogo 10/10 with small children but the Dogo is not a dog you take to the dog park. Theyre dominant and won’t back down if challenged. Intact males won’t accept another large intact male trying to be the boss. Females same with other females. Rottweilers are better suited for dog parks and more tolerant of other dogs challenging them. Both Rott and Dogo’s are protective of their pack and their family and make a distinction between their family/pack and strangers. Rottweilers and Dogo’s both do extremely well with strange people if properly socialized. The dogo is overall a more healthy breed. They live longer and have less problems while alive. Dogo’s are much more agile and suited to high energy lifestyle because they have a lot more endurance. The Rott is a better choice if you want lower energy. If you’re looking for just a working dog/guard dog that you don’t spend a ton of time with get a Rott (is actually recommend an Anatolian or Pyrenees for this use). If you’re looking for a guard dog/hunting dog that is with you 24/7 and also your best friend get a dogo. There is not another dog that is as versatile all around as the dogo with regards to hunting, protection, obedience, etc. but there not suited to many people’s lifestyle and experience. Now on my third dogo, I don’t think I’ll ever own another breed.
I forgot to add that the dogo is actually a very sensitive dog. They want to please you and it’s extremely upsetting for them to fail or let you down. Use lots of positive reinforcement/ training tactics and be careful not to be too negative when they’re young. They need to be coddled a little more than a Rot because they’re so co-defendant psychologically.
Guy clearly made the right decision whats best for him and the dog before he purchased one, I totally agree with you mate, every dog has their own personal needs and you did the right thing, me personally id choose dogo coz im more of an outdoor type of guy the only problem i have id probably never own one dogos are banned in UK and have absolutely no idea why its such a lovely dog
Dude didn't based his pick on dog outdoors performance which in my opinion dogo is king, he did it mainly based on his needs which is a perfect decision.
Zeke man, I do so appreciate you doing this one for the Dogo. I have a Dogo, GREAT DOG!! But I'm affard I made the wrong choice I did a great deal of research on them before I got one but what I did not equate or factor in was his level of energy. I'm a retired old dude and Lucky is like a 5 year old they mature very slowly 2 to 3 years he's 2 1/2 years his dad and Mon where hunters back in the great state of Georgia he's weighing in at between 117 and 126 I think his best weight is 117. My old lady LOVES ROTTWEILERS and has had two she's not satisfied with anything else. THANKS ZEKE and ALL THE BEST WITH THAT ROTTIE BEAST YALL GOT. ROSCOE THE KING!
Thanks for doing this, in your last video I commented to making a comparison with Dogo Argentino. because I'm hesitant to choose between Dogo and and Rottweiler
I've had rotts and I now have a GSD...let me tell you that my GSD is much harder to control on a leash than any of my 6 rotts. And my largest weighed 125 pounds of muscle....he was very big but lean. I really prefer rotts as I've said so many times. I'm 74 and my next dog will be a rott!
@@gailgreenberg6953 I have been keeping different breeds of dogs from past 40 years. I have been staying in a farm. The thing is that I don't keep showlines. Showline gsd are a mess. The most intelligent breed that I have felt was a weimaraner even though it's little stubborn. East german Shepherds, golden retrievers and european Dobermans are bit more intelligent than a rott but less than a weimaraner if compare the overall character.
@@gailgreenberg6953 probably it also depends on the specimen too. I currently have 2 Rottweilers , dogo and a weimaraner all males. I previously had gsds
I saw a Dogo Argentino 2 months ago for the first time.. I'll honestly tell you he was Perfection.. The most impressive dog i have ever seen in my entire life.. 15 month 115 pound Dogo Argentino. Now i know why they are called the Kings of All Dogs. The Rottweiler can not compete against a Dogo Argentino.
I have both 😊 One female Dogo who is 7 years old and weighs 100 lbs. We also have two Rottweilers, both are 2 years old, one male and one female. They all get along and run around the ranch chasing each other.
I wanted to mention a couple of weeks ago I saw a film on dogs bread to fight. As most know the Dogos blood line was derived from the fighting dog of Córdoba, fact is it was the first line to be mixed along with nine other breeds. Anyway I mentioned that because in this film I saw a Dogo Argentino literally throwing a mountain lion down the mountain by its neck. All I could say was "That Dogo Argentino is a Bad Motha, Shut your mouth! But I'm talkin bout Dogo! AND I CAN DIG IT!!
D S no it was on top of a mountain and I guess the random mountain lion that tried to kill the 2 little kids that a dogo killed was drugged too most of these big game dogs are more than capable of killing them not only just fighting them . A lot of people who haven’t been around dogs don’t know how tough game dogs are . And not to mention dogos there self were bread to kill 200-300 lb boar and much bigger bears as well .
I’m really debating on my next dog a Dogo, Kangal, or Presa....I live on the edge of the countryside with 40 acres, but there are still quite a few people around already own a 2 year old girl German Shepherd who is silly as shit, rarely raises her fur, and really good with the baby. Looking for a tougher dog, a dog that won’t just bark but will really guard the family with their life, be able to go on long truck rides, run with the 4 wheelers, not lose nerve when shooting guns, and most importantly be SUPER HEALTHY
I have a dogo argentino he's 1 year and 3 months but he's gotten out and chewed through a wood fence and got out and animal control tried to get him and said he jumped a 6 foot fence luckily a kid in the neighborhood got a hold of him and he's with us know
Im looking into getting a dog and I have the exact same preference in dog breeds. All the breeds you were considering are the same ones I too am looking at. I love my Bull dogs and Mastiffs. American bull, alapaha, Dogo, presa, cane, boerboel, kangal I love Rottweilers as well. I live in Victoria British Columbia. It's a perfect combination of city/town and nature. I love to go hiking . We have bear , cougar and wolves. I need large powerful breed of dog by my side to detour predators. What breed would you suggest I get ?
Dogo Dogo Dogo! My ghost is a very relaxed dog that goes from 0 - 100 in a matter of seconds. Will sleep all day but as soon as I put his collar on he snaps to work mode. Insane endurance. Will be uploading videos of our running experiences!
Being with a female Dogo for 8 years I can say they are definitely not city dogs. They are great companions, fearless and protective but they have a huge prey drive and feel better hiking and doing activities outside of the city limits.
I had a female and she was fierce. She was very moody especially when she was on her period. She grew up with the oldest girl who could do anything to her but she didn't like the youngest girl and snapped at her. So we got rid of her. She was the type of dog that would blend in with the bushes and as you're calling her she wouldn't come up to the gate. She'll wait just as good till you came into the yard and close the gate door with no chance of getting out. And by that time it was over!!!!
@@crypticsme6419 Ummm!!! No! She was just a naturally mean dog and did what she wanted to do. Every dog has different personalities just like people do!!!
What's funny is that I have an 8 year old Presa Canario named Roscoe? Great name. I'm picking up a Dogo Argentino on Saturday named Primo. I feel as though you analysis is right on point. Love your viedoes bro and keep them coming. If you are ever in Atlanta please hit me up.
My neighbor has the dogo and he had to import it to the US to bring it here and it was expensive He only takes the dogo out at night cause that’s when no one is outside I was coughing from the second floor and it looked at me through the window and started barking at me The puppies are so cute tho
Great video !! Now That’s responsible pet ownership. Choosing a dog based of off whether what they need matches with your current lifestyle. All too often owners can’t give dogs what they truly need.
I agree but what the Rottweiler needs is essentially very close to what a Dogo needs. A Rottweiler is a farm dog used for patrolling/guarding a good amount of land, herding livestock, etc etc. The Dogo has more drive and endurance but the needs are almost identical. The Rottweiler is by no means an actual city dog but none of that matters as long as you exercise your dog, take it on 3-4 miles walks/hikes every day, etc etc. If you're not walking your dog for close to an hour or if not more you're truly not walking your dog and you're doing your dog a disservice.
I wish the doggo was allowed in Australia.. What is their problem, such good doggies... really all dogs are good it is just that some have had bad environments to grow in.
I have 4 rescue pits good dogs they will protect the house they listen and are chill as long as I'm chill the only time they fight is over bones so I keep them separated for that other than that awesome little pack but these are my first rescues and I'm not doing it again.
Rhodesian Ridgeback, also a great hiking partner. Besides that, is it possible while hiking in california to encounter wildlife like cougar wolf or a bear? In this case could a Dogo or a Ridgeback be more suitable to protect you than a Rottweiler?
Extremely likely for mountain lions and packs of coyotes, there's so many out there that many times they actually form these sort of coyote packs and one will come out and make your dog chase them into the brush and then get attacked my another 3-5 more coyotes. The mountain lions out there are also anywhere from 70-150 pounds.
So if it is so likely as you describe it, even indirectly, the best strategy is to have 2 dogs with you. Preferably Dogos or livestock guardian dogs.......and....... a pepper spray.
@@wuerzelburg any strong powerful dog breed would be good, and if there's more than one even better. But what you're usually dealing with out there is Mountain Lions and coyotes, and sometimes bears. If you hike with your dog off leash you have to make sure that your dog is imprinted on sticking around you at all times and has reliable recall, because that can get you in some trouble out there.
I live in the mountains near Los Angeles and I agree with the points here. I walk with two 90-pound dogs, a Presa and a Pitbull mix, and still recently we got in an uncomfortable situation where a coyote was stalking us. Most likely it had back-up that was out of sight. Our neighbor has a Great Pyrenees and an Australian Shepherd, but they sometimes wander too far from him and leave him unprotected. Mine generally stay quite close, especially the presa.
Wdym rott would fuck up a ridgeback if it got to it. There’s little to no difference between Rottweilers and Dogos in terms of protectiveness and fighting ability.
Great channel..i pick a rottie over any dog his name is toko a beast of a dog lets correct it he's like my son 120lbs he will sit an talk to me like a kid the smart as dog I've ever had.his mom died when he was 3 days old I brought him in to my home at 3 wks old bottle fed him now at a 120lbs he's still my little baby.toko's my second 4th rott ive owned.2 pitbulls by his side.no better dog then a rott love my Pitts to.keep the videos coming!!
Another solid video ma dude If only people got dogs for what they are bred for ior somewhere along those lines. You gotta "feed" its instincts or they have a greater chance of doing that themselves and that will a lot of times lead them winding up in a shelter if not put down. I am in NYC and love the Dogo but I know they have that hunting thing you wisely mentioned so it would not be fair to the dog. Thank you very much for what you are doing hear
I agree with ur most of ur comment..i like to add that with an extra willingness/time/effort/dedication/consistency anything is possible..i used to think that dogos were not suited for city life aswell but truth be told if u can as u said(feed their instincts) anydog can b a city dog..but i agree that ppl first and above all should always get a k9 that fits their lifestyle, of course unless they're crazy/privileged enough to change and switch their whole lifestyle to accommodate for which ever breed they happen to love and be passionate about .
Dogos are first and foremost working and hunting dogs. They need a job. They do better in a farm or a very large property. City is too loud and full of stimulations. With their size and strenght, is something to consider before getting one. If they go berserk can you handle them?
Another thing...I think you should explore local breeders of quality dogs essentially pricing them out of tbe ranve of middle class families. The prices on dogs has skyrocketted in the past 15+ years. Example I could get an direct handpicked import Dogue De Bordeux puppy in 2000-2001 rom a top breeder and shower in the US for $1500 to my door.
I would chose both. I think the dogo is better in several things but I love Rottweilers because my brother had one when I was child so I have really good memories with that breed.
I had a rottweiler, male, 118lbs at maturity. I now have a Dogo, male, 112lbs. As for comparisons, rottweiler listens better, Dogo's are stubborn. Dogo's are very easy to socialize over the rottweiler. I can put my Dogo in a yard of cats and he'll try to find ones that will play, never could do that with my rottweiler. My Dogo is much stronger physically than my rottweiler was. Both are great defenders, don't start fights, but one thing about the Dogo, if it gets attacked, the only way it is to them is to kill whatever attacked them. The intensity is 2nd to none, people need to understand that when getting a Dogo. As for which is a better dog, it's how you explained it, depends on what you do and what is fair to the dog. Dogo's need more exercise. Lots more to this, just some of my experiences.
I know I made the right choice by adopting the dogo. My boy is 5 months old now and should be around 90lbs at adulthood. I've seen much bigger ones that didn't fit the standard.
#DogumentaryTv , Thanks Pal. This was the thing I asked you n I was looking for. As I was confused between these two. Dogo has two benefits over Rotts in India, a longer life span by two years and tolerance to hot climate of India. And these 2 reasons were making me confused. Kindly guide me to choose between them.
I have a female Dogo. Dipsy is right at 100 pounds. Dogos are definitely a lot more stubborn than Rottweilers, and very strong willed. Dipsy is out on the the ranch every day. We have lots of wild hogs here in Texas, they tend to keep away now.
Thank you for going over these points. After seeing your videos on the dogos, I honestly fell in love with the idea of having one, but you add a lot of sense with the contrast in this video. Keep it up. It's so awesome to see the channel doing well.
My favorite list 1. American Bulldog (working lines or hybrid specifically) 2. Dogo Argentino 3. Presa Canario 4. Boerboel 5. Rottweiler Notable mentions and close call for #5.spot Cane Corso, Akita, German Shepherd, Doberman
Have experience with most of these breeds. Grew up with German Shepherds and Rottweilers. Got my first Large Athletic American Bulldog when I was a young adult and never looked back. Truly are the most physically impressive amount of power and athleticism I have ever seen. Very protective and good with my children. Only true downside to Breed is animal aggression, very dominant dogs. Been around some of the others and Dogos are amazing as well, Boerboels a beast as well as the Presa. Currently own two large Hybrid type AM and 1 large Scott type AM. Can’t go wrong with anyone of these dogs for ability and family protection!
I love your channel it gave me a lot insight and pointed me in the right direction on Breeds I have been looking at for a good while. Thank you and keep doing your thing!
Under 15 lbs is a mouse, under 25 is a rat, under 50 lbs is a cat, under 100 lbs is a small dog, under 150 lbs is a medium dog, under 200 lbs is a large dog, and over 200 lbs is a giant dog! I have had 3 giants so far and should have number 4 when my English Mastiff likely mixed with Cane Corso, Bull Mastiff, or Boerboel mix matures! I have the dna kit but I haven't sent it in yet!
I have a question, not sure if you've gone over it on your videos/stream. Can you give us a rundown of what your day to day is like with 2 dogs, a wife and a son? I'm a young father, with a wife and a small dachshund and time management's kicking my butt. Any tips would be appreciated :D
You have a bias my friend as I do. I love both breeds however based on your presentation your bias is the rottie. However many of the points that you underlined and highlighted are questionable. These are very similar breeds, which lens to handler based outcomes. That said I really appreciate what you do thank you and continue the good work sir
Excellent video. I love dogos but agree that rotties are probably the better city dog. Here's a question for you: *if* the dogue de bordeaux had a lifespan that was the same as the rottweiler, would you still pick the rottie or would you be tempted to go with Hooch?
@@balbirchauhan1152 Fair enough, I haven't watched that video yet but that's understandable. Although from what I've heard from some owners french mastiffs don't drool as much as people think.
There's good reason for why the owner of this channel, despite exposure to nearly every breed with skill-sets that merit ones attention when considering a protection, companion, and overall working capable breed, chose the Rottweiler. For one, the Rottweiler was bred and is perpetuated by the most anal retentive dog people on earth, the Germans. That said, the Rottweiler is all around a phenomenal working dog, thanks to the ADRK. They're intelligent, physically capable, hard as nails, excel at working with humans, can compete at the highest level of protection, obedience, and tracking, as well as being downright fearless, yet turn into teddy bears in a split second. The Germans did an amazing job at producing an overall well rounded dog in all areas needed for a working and protection dog.. Very seldom do you find other breeds that are brought to where the Rottweiler is, perhaps mostly due to lousy breeders, organizations affiliated with the breed that do not have the infrastructure and discipline to elevate the breed to its highest capabilities. No fault of other breeds, but probably the owner of the channel recognized the risk with obtaining other breeds given the above and chose to get a breed that he could reasonably expect to meet his needs without compromise.
I think you're on to something by watching all these comparison videos and how you process you're showing us the real way to buy a dog. What if a survey was available that would ask you questions of your lifestyle and environment and would give you recommendations of your compatible dog breed. I think most people buy the dog because of it's looks or what they heard about a dog rather than asking the real question what dog is the one that fits my life the best.
Ive raised 2 pedigreed dogos and 2 pedigreed rottweilers and to be quite honest their really isn't even a comparison. Its the dogo all day for anything. If i had to put it on a point system... dogo=10, rottie=0
No. And rotties do unfortunately. Parvo weakness with immune system, hip problems, over heating way to easy, endurance problems... This is a few of the main probs...
@@hikingthemountains7062 exactly, I mean no dog is perfect, I love them all, all breeds. But the Dogo will outperform the Rottweiler in everything and it's an overall healthier dog with great stamina. I can't say that I've been truly disappointed by any breed of dog, but if there's one breed that has somewhat disappointed me overall in many things I've experienced in general and have witnessed personally it has always been the Rottweiler, which is why I'd probably never get one. Still beautiful strong dogs though.
I’m really a one dog person. If I get another dog it would be for my kids, so for them I’d strictly get a companion breed. Frenchy, Staffie Bull, or something along that line.
My rottie is 40lbs heavier than I am and I never worry about the controlling problem. I have always liked powerful big dogs, key is to make them realize they are not as strong as they’d like think they are, sounds strange but works for me
Sir Personal protection and protection of property are two different aspects. If a dogo is kept in a farmhouse can it be good for the owners personal protection the way malinois or rottie react to a threat to owner.
A proper Hog Hunting or even a Johnson American bulldog does not get enough credit. Also the American bulldog is currently being destroyed the same way show breeders ruined the English bulldog.
Jeff All couldn’t agree more. I have owned 6 American Bulldogs and truly physically the most impressive dogs I have experienced. Crazy power for size with very good athleticism. Grew up with Rottweilers and German Shepherds nice dogs but physically less superior. German Shepherd best watchdog Rottweiler very protective and powerful.

Nik gupta lmfao 😂😂😂.
Lmao!
Hahaha
😅😂😂😂😂
This dude has a tremendous amount of respect for both breeds
I love the dogo argentino I'm torn between a dogo argentino and a borboel as my next breed but I agree with you considering what you were looking for. The dogo has a high prey drive definitely great with kids but when there prey switch clicks on I feel sorry for the prey cause the dogo means business and is a true working breed dog that honestly should be worked to help channel his energy and drive from time to time.
Boerboel
Dogo is better and smarter than Rottweiler and boerboel .
The prey drive comes from the Irish Wolfhound and Terrier in them! Dogo's may have such a long life span because so many breeds were used to create them. Beautiful dogs!
Dogo argentino
Video should be renamed "How I made the wrong decision" 😭😭😭😭.
I'm joking.
Hahaha facts
That’s the dumbest shit I have heard he has no idea what he’s talking about
Facts dogos are the vest in the world i stand by this bjt i wish they came in more colors
@@murdablock4788 not me. Coke white lol clean
Too much babble about nothing.
The only issue with Dogo Argentino is that there's a High chance they might be deaf. That happens with dogs who are all-white in colour.
Dogos are more rare and majestic
Out of all the mastiffs I would choose between Dogo or Boerboel.
Two of the best looking mastiff breeds! Dogo esp!
I'd never heard of the dogo until I met one yest..they're beautiful and he was massive. Much bigger than a Rotti.
@Gandhiji Don How long have you had them for now, mine are almost 18 months now. They have already ruffed up a few dogs and also killed a cat.
@@darth_veda Roughing up other dogs & killing a cat seems like a big loss? Wouldn't call that excellent temperament.
Such an underrated channel
Ihulk 94 this channel isn’t underrated. Everyone knows about this channel
Dogo is the Best Dog in the World and we have another best Dog in this World,a new Breed: The PPA(Perro Pampa Argentino) Dogo and Pampa are the best!
My Dogo Argentino Kano is now 10
100% agree where you live matters and what the dog is breed for. And prices.

I love my Dogo waited 10 years to get the right one .. No one is coming in my house uninvited.. I own a Dogo , English Mastiff and Great Dane
So, I should be getting an adult Rott sometime around May, hopefully! And I'll be 76!
@@gailgreenberg6953 I have kept them both but gsd is more intelligent.
@@Teja81990 Don't agree!
AND I CAN DIG IT!!
yeah right AFTER the lion was baited, shot or stabbed.
@@GYPO-fn multiple Dogos, they work in pairs or trios and more to bring down wild boar
Get a Cane Corso.
@@hectormoreno9952 I hear that, I've just heard so many people have issues with their health.

Get a tosa boerboel or a caucasian shepherd.
Dogo Dogo Dogo! My ghost is a very relaxed dog that goes from 0 - 100 in a matter of seconds. Will sleep all day but as soon as I put his collar on he snaps to work mode. Insane endurance. Will be uploading videos of our running experiences!
Good Analysis.. The dog has to fit your lifestyle & environment ...

You gotta do a "why rottie over doberman". Mostly because the breeds are so close as far what's expected from them as a family pet.

I know your a Rottweiler fan boy.. But really.. Better then a Dogo Argentino that was created to be Perfection!
Being with a female Dogo for 8 years I can say they are definitely not city dogs. They are great companions, fearless and protective but they have a huge prey drive and feel better hiking and doing activities outside of the city limits.
I’m pretty set on getting a Rottweiler, but unsure if I should get a female or male, are there pros and cons to both? Or does it matter at all?
Dylan Sehi hey, I think males are more dominant than the females and bigger in size.
I had a female and females are a little more easier to handle it's your coice
I had a female and she was fierce. She was very moody especially when she was on her period. She grew up with the oldest girl who could do anything to her but she didn't like the youngest girl and snapped at her. So we got rid of her. She was the type of dog that would blend in with the bushes and as you're calling her she wouldn't come up to the gate. She'll wait just as good till you came into the yard and close the gate door with no chance of getting out. And by that time it was over!!!!

which of the two would adapt better into an apartment life (with regular exercice)
My neighbor has the dogo and he had to import it to the US to bring it here and it was expensive
He only takes the dogo out at night cause that’s when no one is outside I was coughing from the second floor and it looked at me through the window and started barking at me
The puppies are so cute tho
Great video !! Now That’s responsible pet ownership. Choosing a dog based of off whether what they need matches with your current lifestyle. All too often owners can’t give dogs what they truly need.
What about ppl that are willing to change and switch their whole lifestyle for a specific breed, hows that for responsible onwership 😁
Sounds like a match made in heaven!
Do you get individuals saying you should have "rescued" a dog? I get that all the time from self righteous individuals ouchea in Southern California.
dont get a rescued dog that has aggressive traits like pitpull,Doberman, rottie because the previous owners might have not trained them properly
I have 4 rescue pits good dogs they will protect the house they listen and are chill as long as I'm chill the only time they fight is over bones so I keep them separated for that other than that awesome little pack but these are my first rescues and I'm not doing it again.
I always see people say get a rescue on Facebook when someone ask about puppies . Shit is annoying
@martyjanderson and @ A R those are really good points. I’ll remember that if someone asks me why I didn’t get a rescue.
What about the boxer?
Annoying energetic amd stupid horrible combo
Boxer is good but cancer rate is very high......
@@hankwang2951 So, sad!

Fun fun fun.....no one chose rott over dogo!!!!!Not even the rott breeders!Dogo is the ultimate dog in the world!
Dogo is the best, period.
@Dogumentary Tv, I started my search on looking for the best Dogo breeders in the states. Can you suggest two or three breeders???
If you want a guard dog than rottie is good for you or if you want a dog for hunting wild boars than you should have a dogo..
Dogo Argentino king of kings 💪💪
Thank you for going over these points. After seeing your videos on the dogos, I honestly fell in love with the idea of having one, but you add a lot of sense with the contrast in this video. Keep it up. It's so awesome to see the channel doing well.

2. Dogo Argentino
3. Presa Canario
4. Boerboel
5. Rottweiler
Notable mentions and close call for #5.spot
Cane Corso, Akita, German Shepherd, Doberman
I know this is a month old, why rottie over cane corso?

Excellent video. I love dogos but agree that rotties are probably the better city dog.
Here's a question for you: *if* the dogue de bordeaux had a lifespan that was the same as the rottweiler, would you still pick the rottie or would you be tempted to go with Hooch?
well he did say his wife don't like a dog that drools extensively in bull mastiff video.
@@balbirchauhan1152 Fair enough, I haven't watched that video yet but that's understandable. Although from what I've heard from some owners french mastiffs don't drool as much as people think.
@@Aaron_17 Yeah but can't underestimate a dog's drool after eating and drinking or after those slobbery kisses. especially mastiffs.
Besides, the Dogues protective drive has been bred out.
@@clownanaround7996 no, I've never heard that. They're healthier than Rottweilers overall.

@@hikingthemountains7062 exactly, I mean no dog is perfect, I love them all, all breeds. TYLER1_PLAY_VARIETY that’s well known I’m talking about future dog breed to add to his pack
I’m really a one dog person. If I get another dog it would be for my kids, so for them I’d strictly get a companion breed. Frenchy, Staffie Bull, or something along that line.
My rottie is 40lbs heavier than I am and I never worry about the controlling problem. I have always liked powerful big dogs, key is to make them realize they are not as strong as they’d like think they are, sounds strange but works for me
I actually do think the Dogo is right for me, but I'm starting with a Rottweiler first, a working line. I have rottie experience.
Sir Personal protection and protection of property are two different aspects. If a dogo is kept in a farmhouse can it be good for the owners personal protection the way malinois or rottie react to a threat to owner.
Basically he chose a rottweiler because they're lazy.
Not a bad thing especially if you dont have the time.
Rottie over German Shepherd. Please
Ryan Murphy he’s just going to say rottie
aCookie4u no I know that but I wanted him to do a video on why he choose the rottie over German Shepherd
If by some reason if your rottweiler was replaced by a dogo would you keep it or would you still need it to replace it with a rotty???
Unfortunately a Rottie lives only 8-10 years, and a Dogo 10-12 years. And Dogo's use to have more Health . :(

Many of us will choose the Dogo but he has specific reasons and circumstances that he must look for to pick the Dog that suits his needs.
i would get a rottweiler but they are extremely aggressive towards house guests. i am throwing parties every weekend dont want anyone to get bit by accident
Someones going to be losing some testicles on a sat night
That depends on training and socializing
Which breeder did you get your Rottweiler from?
What about doing a video about: why did you chose over the RR? Another breed that you did not talk and it should be one of your favourite dog breeds if you knew them, is the Fila de São Miguel / Azores cattled dog. It's a molossoide portuguese breed. Research and i will be sure that you will love it.
Well I’m a proud Dogo owner 😌 there very great dogs in my opinion if you love to workout to this breed would be perfect for you 💪🏽!
I love your female rai
In my life i've had rottweiler and dogo
For me :
Intelligence : rottweiler
Strength: dogo
Speed: dogo
Agility : dogo
Endurance: dogo
Best nose: dogo
which is quieter / less energitic indoors ?
@@titanhound6671 i also want to know🙂
Hey , Tell me why did you pick the Rottweiler over the Beauceron?🤔
Please do a video regarding different Rottweiler kennels or breeders in Cali. I myself is a huge fan of Rottweilers and I actually plan on buying one in the near future.
Thanks and as always channel is on point👍🏼
Damn that Rott is beautiful. Slim but built & nice shaped head. Perfect
You chose a Rottweiler over a Dogo! Lmao! Get a load of this Guy! (Darth Sidious Voice) Get this Stunted Slime out of my sight lol.
Would like to hear about price on all of your videos.
I get the Rotti but wow, the heads on those dogo's are hard core !! They look like a no-nonsense dog (much like a rotti I guess)
I had German shepherd before, I love them, but Dogo all the way, will never change it for any other breed.
