Another banger video! Good work
I have onX and hunt the big woods of New York State property with no cell service and the offline maps work great I could drop a way point and navigate with no problem I’m very happy with it.
Good info. Thanks.
I have ordered the hunt stand app. Not a high tech guy by no means. I'm Tryin to learn how to use the mapping, pins, shading, ect... That being said. I've clicked on the " monthly" satellite and it's so pixely i can't see anything. Does everybody else's experience this? Also seems like a the "terrain" map is a blur as well.
Great information young man. Luke 9:62
Good review. I’m going with HuntStand
You have missed a lot of the layers and features that onX offers. I can't list all of them, but one that I really like is the thermal bedding of deer. It's in purple. You have Platt maps, able to trace, able to measure trail distances. I think you need to broaden and deepen your research. I, too, have been wondering if I should switch over, but your video wasn't a broad or deep enough comparison. OnX offers a whole lot more than you mentioned.
Glad see youth getting involved in hunting,I can’t even get my nephews to go hunting or get involved in anything outdoors. If we had all these things growing up we would all be Professional Hunters. When I grew up hunting we had to depend on older hunters to show us the ropes outdoors and the best way to learn how to hunt was squirrel hunting I’m not talking about your squirrels around your house or neighborhood unless you’re fortunate and live in the country. Once you were able to get your limits consistently each time you go squirrel hunting you graduated to turkeys and deer hunting. Those tree rats could teach more in one morning on hunting than you could learn from lifetime of learning from other hunters and hunting videos and hunting books could ever teach you. Once you became a good squirrel hunter you could be good at hunter in whatever species you hunted. The squirrel teach you so much, they teach you how to be a good stalker and how to walk and sneak up on your prey they make you a excellent woodsman and how to identify different trees since you have to learn what food squirrels like so you become an expert in learning the different types of trees and how they use them for food and habitat. That’s one thing I’ve noticed about the younger generation they have forgotten or have not been taught the importance of woodsman ship skills . Don’t mean to upset you but some young hunters can’t tell you the difference between a pine tree and white oak tree (no offense) And I will probably get in trouble for saying this but when you teach younger hunters how to deer hunt their is more to it than just throwing out corn or rice bran or some sort of new food attractant. You have to scout and learn the woods and what the deer eat on a normal day that way you don’t think your hunt is over with just because you don’t have enough money to buy the best feed that supposedly the only product that can bring that Boone and Crockett buck in bow range. It’s all about the money, the funny thing is if that the trophy feed that says it’s the only feed that will work to bring that B&C buck in range is that Boone Crockett won’t let you enter that trophy in the record book because it is not considered fair chase to use bait lol 😂 Not trying to upset you but keep looking at those maps because they will help you become a better woodsman, when I was growing up you could get maps but not like you get today especially arial maps because you had to pay for each map.Hope you learn the different maps because they will help you become a better hunter and if haven’t tried squirrel hunting get you a 22 LR good luck.
Couldn’t agree more. I also grew up squirrel hunting and learning the woods and different kind of trees. There’s definitely not enough young people who can identify trees and that sort of stuff. I appreciate the comment.
I need a young man like him to show me how to use my HuntStand App
Huntstand Pro for me, NY and VT
I was subscribed to OnX for 2 years, and just switched to HuntStand.
Im going to be that annoying 3 yo. WHY!?!? IM Genuinely interested
I am using both and I like onX a little better
Deer cast just came out with maps! I use that!
I just listened to their podcast talking about that! From what I hear, it sounds like a pretty good option for serious whitetail hunters. I'm just not ready to drop 50 bucks on an app yet.
I agree it’s definitely a bite the bullet type thing but it’s worth it!
Hey I am moving to the Columbus area and I saw you go to attaboyz and I was wondering if maybe you would like to make some bow vids together at attaboyz?
Possibly sometime! They definitely have an awesome shop!
@@adrianstutzman Oh yeah for sure! Definitely a great place!
Why do you say onX is mostly for western and HuntStand for white tails? Curious.. thanks and nice comparison!!
Thanks for asking! OnX has a lot more options for their pins for western hunters such as specific antelope and mule deer. A lot of their layer options also seem much less useful to an Eastern whitetail hunter than a western hunter. HuntStand to me seems to have a lot less of those extra “western” features but still has all the basic things that you really need. You won’t go wrong with either one!
@@adrianstutzman ahh I see, that makes sense. Thanks for the response
@@bericthegreat1549seems like it's more focused on elk hunts and game in that area. Never really see advertisment for whitetail when they do market runs
Onx needs to step the game up
So what im getting from this is go huntstand, are there any other options?
I am using DeerCast maps this season. It costs more than OnX and Huntstand but also has movement prediction and a bunch of other features. The maps have most of the basic features but not a lot of extras.
Good video but the music is a little distracting. Tips for the future
Ok, Nice to know!
Where did you click on "hunt zone"? way too fast!
On the home page of Huntstand, there’s a fairly big square to click that says HuntZone.
HuntStand maps are light years better than OnX. So much better detail and different layers and map views. Also the waypoint icon is way too large on OnX and takes up a lot of map space. HuntStands waypoints are better, they are smaller and more precise
Today comes the sun has been chasing people from the moon game forgot the name
ONX IS CRAP. Outdated maps. You are wasting money subscribing to them….be warned!
Man whybwould waste ppl time when you have no idea. Damn why waste people's time
What were you looking for that I didn’t provide in the video?
@williambailey7219 why waste your time commenting when you can barley get a coherent sentence typed?
