USB drive slow on iPad or iPhone? Here is how to fix it: ua-cam.com/video/BXB3ccN6GQk/v-deo.html
Thank you so much Jerry! Your video is great and very helpful!
How to do:
>as he told in 1:33 tap on the 3 dot menu in files app[in ipad]
>>open command prompt [in pc]
>type "ipconfig /all" without quotes[in pc]
>hit enter
>look for something called ipv4 address
>type the ipv4 address of your pc in the server connection [1:38] in the server tab
>if your pc is secured with a lock then type the username of the "pc user" and the password of that user account
>make sure you have network sharing on [here is the path {Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings} and enable it]
then boom you have access to your user account [like desktop, docs, pics, vids, etc]
>if you want to share a whole drive like "D:/" then right click on the volume the properties>sharing>everyone.
If you face any trouble feel free to reply on this comment : D
I shared my PC with iPad but there are no files visible in the shared section. How to make the files visible in the shared IP address?
@@akashbhavana1072 Left Click>Properties>Sharing>Advanced Sharing>Add "Everyone"
@@oldtupu45456 Thanks
@@akashbhavana1072 No problem : )
You're a legend
Thx man just the video I was looking for
This is a very nice video Jerry! ❤️
Alexandrea Dean thank you!
Very helpful videos. Thank you
Thanks for checking it out.
where I can get the info to sign in
Very great video, thanks! ✌🏼 one question: can I share the ipad’s folders also on the some network? Any way to see the ipad (shared) folders on other computers?
I don’t think you can do that but there are probably some 3rd party apps that share via a web interface.
Thank you Jerry for this helpful video! Great to know this convenient way to transfer files to a PC from an iPad!
Glad it was helpful!
@@JerrySchulzeis there a way to sync iphone photos videos to nas (not synology)
I'm gonna try this!
Hope it helps!
This video helped me alot and thank you so much. Also i noticed that we cannot our ssd's on the ipad. is there way to use ssd's on Ipad?
To connect it you will need something like the Apple usb3 camera adapter. I think I show it in this video ua-cam.com/video/uYKrbhvlOFA/v-deo.html
Hi Jerry, which is that screen protector ?? thank you so much

Hello. Im thinking about buying ipad 9th gen 64gb since it seems to have best value/price ratio but... 64Gb seems i little low for video editing (nothing pro, just family events 10-15min video). Question: is it possibile to edit those vids while having them on NAS?
I really would not recommend that but luma fusion can use external devices for editing. I recommend using an external usb drive.
Hi Jerry, can you Edit files in ipad from server NAS ?
Yes. For example I am able to open up Word docs on my nas and edit on my iPad.
For me it doesn’t work unfortunately. I keep having the pop-up that the socket has not found 🤔
How do we do the same thing over internet, i have enabled the router config on the external access for Mac file sharing
While I don’t recommend that without a VPN or some secure transfer it should work the same if you have the ports open and the public IP.
hey my ipad pro M2 have a problem that says "the operation couldn't be completed. Operation not support." Do you know how to fix it ?
Same
DO you know how to connect to a Hardrive that is connected to a Airport Extreme ?
It has been a long time since I used an airport. You prob just want to google and look at Apples docs but you need to enable the share from the AirPort then should be the same except connect afp://ipaddress
Nice video. I don’t get how Apple messes up something as basic as a file manager? The old joke about rebooting Windows lately seems more applicable to Apple’s operating systems.
Ha! Actually kind of true.
hey my ipad doesnt have the three dots or more option, is it bcs of the ios version? mine is 12.5.5 version
Yes, I believe this is in iOS 13.
@@JerrySchulze aww that's a bummer, thank you btw 🙏🙏
is it possible to cut paste files and entire folders??
Yes. You can copy and paste or Move.
I can see all my files, but they all have the default file icon. Is there a way to show files as little previews like on the mac?
I don’t think so, not sure why they don’t show the actual icons.
@@JerrySchulze Forgot to write that I use an iPad. Icons show when using SMB from Mac to Mac, but viewing Mac files on iPad via SMB does not show preview icons.
@@johannespettersen yep, I understand.
A very nice Video Jerry!! Looking at your widget, You use ios 13 or 14?
Thanks! Still have this iPad on iOS 13.
Jerry Schulze got it! I thought you already upgrade to 14 beta
dani budianto I have on another iPad but these widgets are just from iOS 13.
what kind of mousepad is that?
Apple Magic Trackpad: geni.us/AW8glA
Nearly two years later and it still doesn’t work properly.
I can't seem to even have the options button in the Files app 😫
Strange. What version of ios?
@@JerrySchulze 12.5.4 and an iPad Air
This doesn't seem to work at all. Can't even get past login credentials. I tried combinations of microsoft account, pc name, Microsoft password, pin login password, my name etc.
Have you created a shared folder on the Windows box? If using a Microsoft account you need full email address for username.
@@JerrySchulze Yes, I created a shared folder on the C drive. I tried my email on the username as well. Any ideas?
it's still a struggle to transfer files through cable from iPad to any other device in 2020. so dissapointed. anyway good video
Thank you!
bruh use imazing with cable
and download xender for "xender folder"
now add files which you have transfer in "xender folder"
now copy using imazing :)
@@theaveragestudent6188 bruh I don't know what xender and imazing is. all I know is that I can happily drag and move whatever I want with android. all I need to to do is connecting a cable. you get my point?
I use FE File Explorer
Thanks! I have tried that before. Do you think it works better?
Jerry Schulze Yes, I think FE File Explorer is more reliable, can connect to all the popular services and has better video player support too. I love the hidden file support too.
David Chao 🤔
So the thing I don’t like about this is you can’t access local files outside of the FE app.
this tip is not working for me
Sorry, what version of iOS? What are you connecting to? You need to make sure you are sharing files from the NAS or computer and use the same account when connecting from the iPad.
Such an expensive device and it still can’t copy, paste or move files around like the cheapest android phone or any Linux or windows device.
Not sure what you mean. iPad can absolutely move and copy files as demonstrated.
@@JerrySchulze it only works very occasionally. I tried moving a few dozen photos taken on an iPad Pro and it kept failing. Restart after restart didn’t fix it and it requires going through every file one at a time to see which ones it doesn’t work with and get the rest to transfer.
The same goes for text files, pdfs, epubs, you name it.
Just try editing and uploading a txt file to the likes of Google drive as another example of how limiting an iPad seems.
Also your demonstration was 1 file from a drive to the iPad which is far less problematic than moving from the iPad to elsewhere and even that failed first time and required a reboot.
Imagine doing this with half a dozen files and requiring maybe 3 reboots to get 4 of the files to move while you spend the rest of the hour your wasting trying to get the last 2 to move or copy.
I mean this is something most computing devices have been able to do for decades. Even xmodem, Kermit etc, over a modem was less problematic!
in 2023... 2 years later, Apple fixed. Not it doesn't work 100% of the time, even after restart. Imagine having a 2200 Euro... basically laptop since it has laptop components and not being able to use samba share. A M2 12.9" ipad PRO... APPLE what part of PRO makes you believe file sharing is not necessary? damn Apple is useless.
ios is an asinine operating system.
All personal preference.
