Yeah tbh Hadi was the best. Brandon has a much better looking physique, is taller, and isn't from a country the US is considering going to war with. On top of that he would be great at promoting the sport.
@@ArtGuides you need condition, structure and size to win. shorter guys historically never do well in olympia, look at shawn ray. Brandon has good size and ok condition. Hadi has good condition ok structure making him look smaller. i had roelly winning but after the prejudging i have brandon winning.

If it's too close they will probably give it to Curry. Plus hell be a good ambassador. But Hadi is definitely not going down easy and making him really work for it. I have Hadi winning in my book with the current line up.

I never said Hadi wasn't an elite IFBB pro, but against the very top guys in the open class, it's always going to be hard for Hadi to win.
If Hadi had done 212 instead, he would have crushed it.
Roelly's mid-lower back (in the back double biceps) reminds me so much of Paul Dillet's back. Nothing happening there at all.

Well he wasn't a trainer like glass he was a coach an advisor not a trainer... So it's dumb ass hell to pay that kind of money just for someone to tell you how you look... What you should do more of or not... Someone made a comment below about Glass he is not the same. He actually trains guys and he is the best at what he does!
He signed the contract and no one made him signed it. You should watch Neil's response on Nick's channel. William blew it out of proportion and only told one side of the story. He used what he learned from Neil and applied it to his prep. If you compare him to last year, William came in with the legs much smaller than last year. I think Hadi should have taken 2nd.

I don't understand why everyone likes Rhoden so much. He doesn't look anywhere near as impressive as Phil, or Ronnie before him. Hell, Dorian would beat Rhoden. It is too bad that Phil never took his midsection seriously enough.

Hadi is becoming next gen's Branch Warren but according to me those tree trunk thighs diminishes the hard work that he has put to his torso. Bodyproportion is like thumb next to little finger.

Don't forget that Choopan can't speak English at all so even if he beats Curry they probably won't give him the title.
Plus he's a newcomer. Olympia newbies tend to get shafted - just look at how they're overlooking Patrick Moore. The fact they never moved Hadi in to stand beside Curry tells a story in itself.

US enemy. cannot enter an enemy country and win their top award. they could use it as a political statement over there. if he was smarter long ago he should've just got dual citizen with another arabic country. i see him 3rd at best. even if no one shows up. they would still place him 3rd.

Again, the background fails to do justice to the competitors. Why do they insist on fancy, detracting stuff on stage. Keep it plain so everyone can see their outlines fairly.

Repeating what I said under your instagram post few hours ago: huge letdown so far. Basically Hadi is the only one who brought what he "promised" to do. He brought the conditioning, his advantages and all his weaknesses (which he has only a few). But the rest...I'm not impressed.
I thought Phil's comment about the "asterix" next to the winner's name was very hurtful and sounded condescending. However after pre-judging these guys are really fighting for that asterix to be realised...and it's their fault.
Patrick Moore is one of the few pleasant surprises, sort of, considering that someone is being surprised by him (I was not, I expected him to look great). He has a bright future but he needs to bring up a few lacking bodyparts and establish a stronger resumee in front of the judges' panel because I think he has a place in the top10.
Cedric brought his usual but others look so bad that his usual looks decent here, and structurally he is night and day compared to most of the lineup.
So that's that. They need to get harder to the finals otherwise we might end up witnessing Hadi taking it which would be a major upset even with his hype and obvious quality.
Yup Moore and Akim were the only ones who really outperformed expectations. Brandon is about as good as I would realistically expect, and it might indeed be enough to get the job done, but he's def not 100%. I'm sure most of them will look better tomorrow but for now, yes... pretty disappointing overall.
@@Tomn8er Yes, I didn't expect Akim to appear in decent shape. Juan Morel is one more disappointment. He looked freaky and everyone hyped him, he showed off his vacuum and NONE of those realised on-stage.
Patrick looks promising
They look pretty much the same as years ago, except for Brandon. It's just Phil was THE ONE, like Kai, Jay, Ronnie, etc. I'm watching these competitions five years with patience and it was not even once, when everyone told oh yeah, it was better than we expected. Always "yep, condition is lacking, but next time" and next year they make posts in Instagram, how they will kick ass, and all remains the same. This time it isnt even that hyped anymore, boring as hell. Blend, noncharismatic, tired.

I wanted Roelly to win, now that we're seeing him it's very disappointing to see he's completely off. Dexter actually looks really good beside the fact his abdomen is distended. Steve Kuclo can fuck off out of the top 6, definitely doesnt have a top 6 Olympia physique. Brandon Curry tbh looks rather disappointing due to his week legs, especially from the back and his overall conditioning is not impressive. Hadi looks great, from the front. His back is abysmal however. Bonac of course always comes in damn near the same, midsection usually not the prettiest but compared to these guys his overall condition, proportion, lines and presence is better. I would absolutely not have Curry over Bonac at least in the prejudging, he just looks too soft compared to Bonac. Currys upper back is pretty solid though.
I have to give a huge hats off to Haadi. Considering the challenges he faced getting here with the Visa and then with all the dieting issues he would face in the US, e.g. most likely he has to eat Halal (meat slaughtered as per Islamic procedure), and it would be a nightmare to source Halal meat for an Olympia contender with such little time to spare, he still managed to produce arguably the best conditioning on stage. Great job man!
However, I did chuckle a little as Haadi appears to have the exact same weaknesses as Rhoden; triceps, forearms and back. If he can just bring up these bodyparts, I think he'll take it.
William looks phenomenal. No real weaknesses but as usual, I always feel he's going to get shafted because he's structurally not as genetically gifted as other BBers; at least that's why I am not a big fan of his physique (mainly his wings; they're just not conducive to a classically aesthetic look).
Roelly as you perfectly pointed out is holding too much water. His condition has actually worsened compared to last year.
Brandon may edge it out due to his structural superiority but I'm not impressed with his conditioning; he's not anywhere near as sharp as I thought he would be.

The stage design SUCKS!! Brandon is standing in front of the black hole of the Mr. O prop and he almost disappears.

Todays bodybuilders don't know how to diet. Only Choopan has something that looks like conditioning. You can't see a line or a detail on Currys or Roellys legs. Looks like they are three weeks of.
Classic Physique seems to have some decent conditioning (excluding Bumstead last year due to being in hospital). Easier for their body to achieve it.
Look at Hadi's midsection. His abs & oblique are crispy crystal sharp.
Like with Curry for example, his obliques are absent in the side triceps.
Curry & Roelly's conditioning was laughingly off.
Diet? You become dehydrated with diuretics.
@a m I have been following bodybuilding for 30 years and know what I'm talking about. Look at Olympia 1998 and compare the conditioning. Todays guys would not have been in the top ten 98. It´s all the insulin along with some believe that if you are big you don't need conditioning. Curry and espessialy Roelly looks really bloated. Their legs looks like average fat guys legs...

Classic Physique is just miles ahead as far as competition and entertainment quality as far as I can see.
i've got william in first. great conditioning and zero weak points. He even managed to bring up his midsection and even though it isn't the best he is the only one with zero flaws: Hadi's lats and bdb pose, roelly's back and conditioning, curry's legs and conditioning. I just don't think you can make someone mr. Olympia when he has so many flaws
Edit: also Hadi's arms are just lacking
William's weak points (aside from the usual narrowness through the chest) are that he's flat here and smaller than everyone else. And his conditioning isn't as razor sharp as Hadi's so he's getting lost in the shuffle in a lot of these poses.

You're on point mate, everything you said. I was watching RxMusle video with Milos, Samir, Chris and I can't believe they gave a small advantage to Hadi. Today Hadi was more conditioned, there is no doubt about that, but that's not the only thing what judges are looking for. Brandon was never my favourite, but this year he brought an amazing package and he's still better in most of the poses. If he bring a bit harder physique tomorrow there will be no doubt about the new Mr. O.

I'm super glad you mentioned the colour/shade of the background.
The placings and match-ups for me:
1. Curry
2. Bonac
3. Hadi (mainly that smooth back double-bicep is lacking a lot)
4. Dexter (I would think. Despite pre-judging. Risky)
5. Roelly
(too many problems with Roelly)
6. Kuclo (seemingly)
It drops off pretty severely after 3rd.
Favourite: Patrick Moore
(I hope they at LEAST put him in the top 10. Throw him in front of Lukas Osladil at the absolute very least. Though he should be much higher than that in my view).

Moore should be in the second callout vying for a 6-10 position for sure. His shape and structure puts even a lot of the Classic Physique guys to shame aesthetically speaking
Absolutely agree. I was blown away by that. I was wondering if he could maybe drop into Classic, but then when I saw him beside these other guys, he's pretty big as it turns out, so that might not be very feasible to easily do. Which is very impressive.
Tiny waist. A lot of them look so much larger in big part due to how much bigger their waist and midsection is. Which isn't really due to muscle mass per se.
I think they should reward guys like that a lot more, if they want to try and shift the division in a direction that is closer to the Rhoden/Curry side of the spectrum (Brandao needs a bit more size, but him too). It would be encouraging for competitors to focus on things other than straight up mass, and then hoping for the best with semi-okay conditioning that is not very consistent and rarely hits the mark.
Anyhoo. Will soon find out.

Only Akim, Osladil & Cedric placed ahead of him (apart from top 6). That's not bad. Beat loads of guys (Sandoe had a bad day it seems). I'd personally place Patrick higher, but whatever.

Nicks Strength is not what I watch anymore, I find him arrogant and he doesn't listen to his viewers because he feels he is always right. Good perspective this year. Hadi and the oil in his shoulders and biceps really bother me but his conditioning reminds me of Dorian in the mid 90’s.

If you make an argument for Bonac to win the show, then you have to give it to Hadi based on it too.
Curry #1 but he needs to improve tonight, he needs more sharpness, Roelly is 4th, Hadi is 2nd, if he had better arms, he would be battling for #1 based on quality.

Hadi made a great choice competing in Men's Open. He outclassed them in some of the poses, and annihilated them in conditioning. F-ck the 212. It won't be around very long.
Haddi is mr Olympia hands down he has size shape conditioning symmetry and he hard and dry it’s between hadi and bonac
Hi Tomn8er! A follower from Hungary. Roelly had suffered a hamstring injury 2 weeks before the O. He was unable to train hamstrings or do some cardio, during the final 2 weeks.
He can do cardio on the elliptical machine.
Ok...well that clears a few things up.
Hadi Choopan looks insane. his conditioning is incredible. carved out of stone. this guy should get top spot, then bonac, winklaar, curry.
If your having trouble sleeping , don't bother counting sheep or taking valium , just start watching this Olympia .

Great analysis, unlike Nick's Strength and Gossip. You actually stop the footage in each pose and compare the physiques. Please keep it up! I prefer Hadi, because of the definition and the legs. But I can see why Brandon has the advantage.
Roelly conditioned did not bother me cause he looked so good from the front, but then when he turns around his back is missing too much mass. I dont understand why he would not work on that all year.
The backdrop is terrible with that big dark spot. Very unfair to whoever is standing in front of it.
