- So my eyes do this really cool thing.
When I go outside, the color of my eyes changes from blue... to dark brown. If i'm in the sun for over 10 minutes, they turn so dark that you can barely see my pupil.
But... why?

Those are photochromatic contact lenses. Eye specialist here!
Edit: photochromic and photochromatic are both acceptable terms for any lens than darkens on exposure to UV light.
Edit 2: Under no known natural circumstances eye changes color that quick. It takes a long time for inflammation/cancer/drugs to change eye color.

The way I can tell she’s using some sort of contact. Is because her pupil didn’t dilate at all, it stayed quite big and if you were to stare up into the sunny sky like this, your pupil would shrink a LOT
They are called transition lenses. They are used for people with a sensitivity to light to block out uv rays. It’s usually people with lightly colored eyes who have light sensitive eyes

Quick update: I use to work for Lenscrafters about two years ago, and this was one of the latest and greatest contact lenses that they came out with. Its call “Transition contact” they suppose to protect your eyes from the sun. It works alot like , transition glasses.It’s pretty cool but it’s very freaky and demonic-ish if you have light color eyes, i.e....blue, green, gray or hazel. It take between 5-7 min to completely transform to clear when you are indoor . Which is kind of weird if you go to a restaurant and you eyes start changing color right in front of your waiter . And about 1-2 min when you are outdoor. You do not need prescription to get them . You can get this at your local target or Lenscrafters’s . And yes it gets very dark, it actually turns dark brown to black depend on the level of the sun ray.It covers the cornea. this could be a great alternative for very active individuals, soccer , football etc.... also it’s not recommended to look directly in the sun just because you have these lenses , you still could go blind.

When my daughter ( brown eyes) was an infant, her eyes turned turquoise green when it was going to rain.
It’s called Raleigh Scattering, a common principle in optics. Same reason the sky is blue. She then had iris sector heterochromia from total internal reflection, which is part of Raleigh Scattering. Not a mystery, not surprising.

I thought I found a human like me but people are saying it's contact lenses. My eyes color changes between green, brown, dark brown. Once in very sunny day it turned into yellow. I only noticed when my friends told me my eye color was yellow. But it only happened once. But nowadays my eyes can turn green, brown, dark brown depending on light and my mood.
The longest time i stared at someone's eyes 😶.

It’s mostly for continuous UV protection but from what I’ve read it seems so can get ones that get darker and brighter as light will come and go. Your eyes are grey, mine are the same. Has to do with lack of melanin and the way your iris contracts when the light hits it, makes light reflect differently. Also puts you at a higher risk for eye cancer so wear uv protective eye wear when you can.
I'm gonna edit this - I know, color-changing contacts. Grey eyes do not turn red, I just saw it as darker so I was like, oh, yeah eyes do that.

It's Transition contact lenses, you can buy them online or at an eyewear store :D there's also glasses that have the same transition (clear to black, almost turns into sunglasses)

Actually, you can do the reverse of that naturally without lenses if you have the right kind of iris. You can cover one eye. The other eye, when exposed to the light, shrinks the pupil and exposes multicolored strands. Then uncover the other eye and the contrast can be quite shocking.
