If you choose to stay tuned, listen for the surprise at the end.
Although the origins of this poem are up for debate, the source text for this piece is the following:
“I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining.
I believe in love,
even when there’s no one there.
I believe in God,
even when he is silent."
Just listening to this brings me to tears. It's so much harder singing the words, now! 😅
I performed this piece with my highschool choir on a day that resonates with my soul. Always have, and forever will. Veteran's Day. This piece is so much more special to me, knowing what the story behind it was, and how my choir group used it to share that story, and add on the message that, even if you can't feel, or see, or hear these things, if you believe in it, it's going to be at your side forever. So don't lose hope, because all is not lost, and it never will be.
Thank you so, SO much for creating this. I listen to it everyday heading to school, now, and I still tear up often, thinking about the song, as I listen to this beauty of a rendition.

Thank you so much for sharing! I'm glad you enjoy it. It's one of my favorites - so much emotion behind the music!
@@bryanguarnuccio5284 I can absolutely see why it's a favorite of yours, I'll never forget it! ^^
This is beautiful!
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful, thank you! Can we use this in our worship service?
Hi Corrie! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for asking first! I'm not 100% about the copyright situation, but please credit Mark A. Miller as the composer, and list me as the arranger and performer.
@@bryanguarnuccio5284 Of course! Thank you! Mark created an advent worship series around this specific anthem. Your rendition will be a perfect addition to the service.
@@milliebeane8464 That sounds great. I am glad I could be of service! I'll have to check out his worship series for next year.
