    Again your design sense really speaks to me - the bright white pot and the dark burgundy leaves and medium pink flowers - it’s akin to feeling so cute in a dark sweater and white jeans!

    Teddy weeing on the grass 🤣 only a gardener would appreciate it. Iv just got the Acer palmatum “Blood Good” for my garden so I’m super happy you ended on that with a few tips. I’m going to get a huge Acer “Orange Dream” this weekend 👍 thanks for the tour

    Really enjoyed this! I worked at a nursery for years and our Japenese Maple source said the deer taught him how to prune them because after they got to his Japenese Maples one year and ate them back they were the best they had ever been that year. 😂

    I love your garden tours. I live in Kentucky, USA. We can't grow fuchsia here except as annual. I love to see them so big. It was delightful to see your home garden.

    Love the acer, beautiful - a must have plant that I’ve just added to my list, especially as you can cut it hard without doing harm...those are the types of plants we all need 👍🙏🏼 thank you for the tour x

    Your garden is lovely as always John...admiring your fuschia plants so much! And the bloodgood maple! I have one planted in fullsun and it does not look like yours. Hmm....something to think about. :-)

    Thanks for the tour and the advice on Japanese maples. You must have a clumping variety of bamboo that doesn’t tend to run-or else a few panda bears to keep them in check.

    John Lord, when are you going to write some garden books. I have try to find some that you might of writen but only found an article which i loved by the way. On Prairie gardening. You never fail to make me laugh and this time it was when you said you saw a Peit Outdolf either at Kew or Surrey or that rough area. and you wss not impressed. I love that one in his book that in Ireland. Keep going your the best.x

    I got an inexpensive small Acer palmatum (Bloodgood) put it by my small pond and like you suggested I will top it try to get the other branches to arch over the pond instead of buying a much more expensive weeping variety. Will look great with my ferns and Japanese weeping all gold forest grass

    I have a Japanese maple black lace and it's growing lovely in my clay soil, I was wondering of I should cut it back ever if it starts to get a bit bushy.

    What sort of birds do you get frequenting your garden? I love combining bird watching and gardening (this year I am leaving all of my basil plants that have gone to seed to see if I can see any birds feeding on them)

      Lots of small birds. There’s always a robin hanging around and the bird song in the background is generally the blackbird. We have crows, rooks, magpies jackdaws and wood pigeons as well.

    Hi John. I know you didn't show them here but if you surround japanese forest grasses with mulch before they start growing in spring, will it affect the new growth pushing through the mulch? I put mulch around them about 2 weeks ago.

    Thank you John! I am the one who afraid of Japanese Maples lol I have five and want to transplant them all to a new location, they are maybe five six years old in good shape, when is the best time to do it? I am zone 6 in the Fall and Zone 5 in the Spring due to Grate Lakes influence here in Southern Ontario.

    So this is new info for me ... Begonias will over winter in a shed? All begonias or just certain types? Which types? Dragon Wing Begonias?

      I think he said tuberous begonias. A lot of begonias can be grown from tubers in the spring like dahlias or gladioli. If you protect the tuber from frost and wet the plant regrows in the following spring.

      @@nowirehangers2815 You clearly don't understand how sound works. When you can't hear something clearly due to background noise, then you turn up the volume, the background noise gets louder too. I tried it up to full volume. In the example above I was the spokesperson for TWO hearing impaired people. I wasn't so self-absorbed as you as to claim I spoke on everybody's behalf.
