  • Hey, Dodgers Nation! Welcome back to the channel, where we keep you updated on everything that truly matters in the world of our beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. Today, I’ve got a piece of news that might shake up the confidence of some fans. We’re talking about a potential change in the team’s leadership-something that could alter the course of the next season. Curious to know what it’s all about? Then go ahead and hit that like button, subscribe to the channel, and ring the notification bell so you don’t miss any updates on the Dodgers!
Since Dave Roberts took over as the Dodgers' manager in 2016, he’s led one of the best teams in MLB. With an impressive track record, including winning the World Series in 2020 and consistently making the playoffs, many might think his position is secure, right? But things in baseball can change quickly, and it seems the Dodgers’ front office is open to exploring new options for next season.
With one of the highest winning percentages among all managers in MLB history, Roberts has an impressive record of 829 wins and 494 losses, putting him ahead of baseball legends like Joe McCarthy and John McGraw. Without a doubt, he’s one of the most successful managers in Dodgers history, being the only one to maintain a winning percentage above .600 over more than 600 games. Yet, there’s a “but” in this story.
According to the renowned journalist Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the pressure is real for Roberts. After an aggressive period of acquisitions in free agency and at the trade deadline, the Dodgers’ front office expects solid results in October. And this puts our skipper on the dreaded "hot seat"-meaning he’s under extreme pressure to deliver a winning performance in the playoffs.
Roberts’ contract with the Dodgers is nearing its end, with only one more year guaranteed. This means that if the team decides to make a change, the financial impact would be relatively low, limited to his $3.25 million salary for 2025. But is it worth letting go of a manager who has not only helped keep the clubhouse together through tough times but also brought so much success to the franchise?
If the Dodgers decide to move on without Roberts, a few names might be on the radar. One possible candidate is the current Miami Marlins manager, Skip Schumaker, along with internal options like bench coach Danny Lehmann. Another alternative could be looking for someone from the Tampa Bay Rays organization, given Andrew Friedman’s history with the team.
Ultimately, Roberts' future will be decided in October. If the Dodgers don’t make it to the National League Championship Series for the third consecutive year, especially if they fall in the NLDS with just one or two wins, a change might really happen.
So, fans, I want to hear from you: do you think it’s time for a change in leadership, or do you believe Dave Roberts is still the right man to lead us to another World Series? Leave your thoughts in the comments, share this news with other Dodgers fans, and of course, don’t forget to subscribe to the channel to stay on top of all the latest updates about our team! Let’s go, Dodgers Nation!

Yeah.. GET RID of him... Anyone could be successful with that lineup.. He is NOT the reason for the years of success.. The players are. The Dodgers will not win with Roberts. He makes way too many piss poor decisions. PLUS - the pig pen that is the dodgers bull pen is absolutely horrible. Being such a horrible bullpen, he consistently take one out to put in another. Even if a pitcher gets three out in only three pitches, that clown will still take him out. Why can't he realize that when you put in that many pitchers, the odds are that one of them is going to have a bad day. Thus, giving up the game. Right now, if the Dodgers are not leading by 4-5 in the 8th innings, the pigpen is going to give it away. Whether they say so or not, the offense has got to be fed up with Roberts giving away the games. FRONT OFFICE - SEND HIM PACKING

Dave Roberts can't lead the Dodgers through the post season he has a problem managing the bullpen every year it's the same problem!

His pitching strategy among starters and relievers especially in the post season makes no sense to me
I do love my Dodgers though. True blue for 55 years
BTW why get rid of Heyward and keep Taylor?

Roberts is gone if he doesn't win a ring, period. Batting Ohtani leadoff and driving in the least amount of runs possible for a guy that hits XBH's like they're going out of style is ridiculous. Judge has almost 30 more RBI's for a bad team because he bats third every game.

Only reason Robert's is still the manager is because he doesn't push back on the front office......that's why they keep him. No real manager is going to let the front office decide who is playing & when. Also, Roberts is not equipped to manage. He can't stick a foot up someone's ass when needed, can't figure out different ways to win games & not ready to do ANYTHING it takes to win a Championship. I love the Dodgers w/ everything I have & that's why I'm upset about this. We should be a dynasty w/ what we've had over the last 10 years. Lakers....Pat Riley
    UCLA.....John Wooden
    Dodgers......Walter Alston
Those were leaders who did whatever it took to win Championships. Dave Roberts is not that guy. Dodgers could still win it this year w/ the talent, but if we're being honest, Dave Roberts is not a Championship manager.

With a winning percentage like Roberts has another team will swallow him up. I think the Dodgers should keep him. However, should the front office decide not to keep Roberts his replacement should be Mike Scioscia in my view

New York Posr? The players are responsible for the team’s winning. Coaches teach them hitting and pitching, but players are always the ones who decide who wins.

Keep Roberts. Dave can't held responsible for the mass of injuries and the long recovery periods. It's almost like hiring career cripples, with Walker Buehler the poster child of procrastination. They spend millions on rehabilitation with full benefits with little to show for the investment. The Dodgers don't need a squad of cheerleaders - Kershaw, May, Gonsolin, Yamamoto, and Ryan sitting on the sidelines, showing no improvement.

For a team that has spent the most $ ever on their players, all the manager has to do is not screw anything up like Roberts has done for years. He is not a good manager, period. You also have to look at all the egos on that team. LA teams in general have had that problem, just look at the Lakers and the issue with LeBron and his HUGE ego.

Love to see a new skipper but you can't blame him for a fragile team. They get hurt just walking from the dugout. 3/4 of the team can't hit

It certainly doesn't help their best hitter hits bombs as the leadoff hitter to get one RBI either.

I'm sincerely hoping that Dave Roberts succeeds. But I understand realities. I wish it were possible to add someone just to make pitching changes/not changes for him. By the way the Oakland "gent" who invented Sabermatics or whatever it's called now, ruined the game.

I do not believe that we need to make a change at this time. While I agree that Roberts has done some dumb things over years it's no different than anybody else. I feel that he has earned the chance to stay on longer. I like his overall style. I even liked him when he played for us was back when. Stay the course. Even Tommy had some bad years but we stuck with him. Give Roberts the same chance.
