This is really my most favorite intro of all onimusha games so far. To see Samanosuke as a Ninja at first, then a samurai 2nd, is just so damn cool. The choreography is so amazing. Also, showing him using all his old weapons, is just damn tight. What more could you ask for?? This is really a great intro. +5 rating!! Get onimusha 4 and there'll be a part where you have to fight Garuganto himself!! :O

onimusha is the true demon-slayer game..and of course NG is alot different,NG story is about their rival black spider clan and dragon ninja clan..how other clans die..and fiends reborned..no powerful demons..only mionions..Onimushia is all out demonic army

One of the most noteable things of all the Onimusha games - the intro movies ALWAYS rock. So do the games but I've never been able to play through them more than once. But ah well worth watching over and over at least :)

I believe that dante is stronger than samanosuke,cause they have their respective devil modes they can use for strong foes,but dante is half devil even when he's not in his devil form,which is what makes him almost immortal,samanosuke dodges hits as well as dante,but dante takes them head on and does not even care(like when the vid he fought demons in his office in dmc3),plus dante's devil mode lasts longer and does not need sould of opponents to be unlocked...Kratos isn't as strong as them in t

Good game. Not as good as 2. This opening was beautiful, but the rest of the game is ugly in comparison. Onimusha 2 was arguably the best looking ps2 game, possibly because of 2d effects, but even the actual characters looked great. Onimusha 3's graphics are ok. They just seemed so ignored. Big dissapointment. I did love the whole 'time travel' element though.
this CG was the only visually good-looking part of the game. everything else looked fricken ugly. the 3D backgrounds were bland for some parts of the game. even the character models didn't live up to the original two; they lacked detail and often looked pixellated and muddy. same goes for the background. the game was still fun though i wish the graphics were a little better.

Dante may have alot of power, but he's a stereotype wise-cracking prettyboy who Samanosuke'd most probably make his bitch on speed, skill and agility alone. "End of story".
If you think about their 'devil' or 'special' modes,Kratos has his own modes too. Like Rage Of The Gods,and Might Of Prometheus,or something like that. So at this rate,i think Kratos would win over Samanosuke,tho i never played DmC so i cant exactly know. :)

Such an amazing intro. It's not just the action, but I think the score is utterly excellent, and really adds to it. It sounds wicked in Japanese as well.

I wondered why Capcom never thought about opening a movie division. Most of their cut scenes in any one game put the actual gameplay to shame.
i dunno about other people but i think that the ps1 and ps2 console time was the best. they had the best japanese games compared to the ps3 now.
Naa, in Onimusha 2 you had to defeat a different demon swordsman named Gogandantess, the self-proclaimed 'greatest swordsman of all demons'.
