- Never wanted to own a base camp from the previous release even though I know it’s a very capable rig, until the new release. The body styling and color upgrades from what I called cheap and toyish colors, to the new metallic gray and pearl white with overland accessories, sold me. This rig is way more capable than I ever imagined! I didn’t run it in stock form which is a shame on my part, but I just know what I want to do in upgrades and have driven others in stock form. I know what I’m looking for in upgraded performance. Hobbywing Fusion Pro 2300kv was first, Treal 27% portal overdrive gears up front, Flysky GT5 rx/tx, 4.45” Pit Bull Rock Beasts tires, injora deep dish offset 10+ beadlock wheels, Injora green silicone inserts up front and blue in the rears. Didn’t think they’d fit, being that they’re labeled at 118-120mm and the Rock Beasts are 113. They fit perfectly! No slop, no empty spaces, no modified foam shims. I have portal and diff brass coming for the next upgrade and possibly the last upgrade I want. Maybe someday down the road, I may end up getting Treal axils like I did for my CJ7. Anyway, I really love this truck and and how capable it is. Looks great just trailing and it does fantastic on the rocks. I hope you enjoyed this video as much as I enjoyed making it! Looks awesome!! Did you try driving it with the stock bumpers? That front bumper you have allows a lot more clearance for the tires. I had to trim the slides a little too. Good driving! Great Video! 👍
@@NEO-RC I haven’t driven it with the stock bumper. I may put it back on as I know it was tucked up and tight. I tried to figure out how to get this metal bumper to sit up higher, but it isn’t like a trx4 where you can flip the bumper mounts and raise it. So yeah, I may end up putting the stock one back on. Just can’t find one that is as good as the stock one. Even with the smaller tires, I had to trim that nub off the front of the sliders and trim a little of the fenders off. Nothing major, made a world of a difference. Thanks NEO!
what light kit do you have on the rollbar ?
@@copperhead_ohio2011 they are the Meus light kit. Not very expensive for what they are. It’s a 4 into 1 setup. I wanted to add these to my cj7, but can’t put 2 on the front bumper and for the pod lights. So I added them to the base camp.
Would you recommend those Meus lights from Amazon? Thinking of getting the same ones but the reviews are mixed.
@@NOSfusion I think they’re excellent lights. Super scale and realistic. Very bright as well. They are for a skilled person that has patience for tiny tiny screws. The one thing I didn’t like and do like about them is that there 4 lights into one plug. I’d like a set that was 2 into 1 more than the 4 into 1. A lot of people like the ease of things and want to just plug n play. You won’t find a more scale realistic looking Offroad light set up.
