this was what I really needed to hear. of mice and men was pivotal in my younger years. The flood was an album that really opened me up to things and made me feel like I wasn't alone. I remember meeting austin outside of a venue in columbus in 2012 when they were touring with august burns red and the color morale. I was in the back with hopes of meeting austin. he was in the back in a red flannel and I remember calling him out and he said he would be right back because they had soundcheck. I 100% thought he wasn't coming back. But to my surprise he did and we chatted for a minute and I will never forget it. This was during a dark time for me as well. All my friends going to college meanwhile I wasn't the smartest so I took to sex and alcohol as a coping mechanism. I now live a healthy life with 2 kids and they honestly changed my life and made me do a complete 180. Self taught in coding and learning more every day.
I think Shayley and Austin should start a new band to project their past and addictions… they don’t got to tour or hype it up cuz they both as individuals have that fan base, just make music together making uplifting and inspiring music for the masses that deal with addiction.. I was a H addict for a minute, got clean on my own, my ex-wife and I, didn’t Wouldn’t except any prescription to help (subs) we both said no, and did it alone but together… got through it and now I’ve been clean since late 2016.. it is honestly so crazy seeing the boys from OG OM&M and UNDEROATH on the same podcast cuz I have their logos tatted on each wrist.. Ø on my left and a & on my right for 11 years!! There’s a story why… however… I’ve learn we are so much more connected and just because someone is in the public eye don’t make them resilient to real world shit… I love the dudes! And now Mikey is someone I’m gonna support, I never heard of them but I’ll support this bro! He’s brave to be the “little” guy and tell his story FIRST! You boys are soooo strong! 🖤🖤
