Just listened to this song this morning for first time. Never listened to Iron Maiden before Liked it so much put in my headphones and listened to first 4 albums
The greatest thing that has come from 2020 is watching all these Reactors experience the music. The 2nd Greatest is getting to watch them experience it KNOWING they are in for a ride and understanding of each other.
A few weeks before 2020 i was watching a Rafa Marquez skills and goals video and the song at the vid was the cradle of filth's cover of this song, but i didn't noticed it... the heavy slow riff before the solo got stuck in my head like 3 months, when the karahnavayraas got my college closed I spent like 2 entire days searching for this song no sleep and it was the first one i've searched for it but just bc i didn't like iron maiden (10 years ago playing guitar hero 3 i had to play the number of the beast and i was just a little 13 year old catholic boy and i hated on them just bc i was stupid) I wasted 2 days hearing another bands, then i asked myself "what if the song is actually the first one i searched for?" And yes it was. Spent another entire day hearing just hallowed be thy name, and since that day spent another month inside an unknown world of music to me, they changed my life mann and now all i hear is maiden. I was an hip hop head mexican but not anymore

Cue up "Fear of the Dark" - live Rock in Rio - prepare to be astounded by 250,000 fans that know every word and note (and most of them don't speak English). BTW, the guy on the shirt is their mascot "Eddie"...he appears on all but one album cover, and shows up on stage occasionally. This show was fairly tame compared to later tours - watch the vid I recommended and you'll see what I mean.
Strap yaself in for the ride , you have discovered the best band of all time The trooper Children of the damned Wasted years Rime of the ancient mariner Aces high Fear of the dark (live in rio)
Iron maidens newest song called writing on the wall is amazing, and all the members of the band are in there 60s now, but still sound like they are in their prime.
iron maiden was my fav growing up!! "aces high", "trooper" " 2 mins 2 midnite" there really isnt a bad song! they are story tellers some even of history-pretty much love them all- "wasted years" is one of them!! keep em coming- enjoy your reactions!
The year was 1983. I was 9. My older brother brought home a Number of the Beast poster. Put it up between a Rob Halford poster and a Van Halen poster in my bedroom. Yes, I have a good brother. After the poster went up, my Maiden journey began. Seemed like an eternity before my first live show on June 1, 1988. It was a transformational experience. Most recent ... in 2019. Can't get enough.
Bro...you just earned another sub! I’ve been a Maiden freak for almost 40 years and have watched every Maiden reaction on UA-cam and your reaction is in my top 3 favorites so far! It’s IRONIC (pun intended) that I stumbled upon your channel just tonight when I checked out your Loretta Lynn reaction and realized you just uploaded my all time favorite Maiden song.Such a great and fun reaction and seeing you in that KILLER Maiden shirt brought a big smile on my face.If you’re ready to go down that Maiden rabbit hole I would like to suggest the songs Rime of the ancient mariner studio version,The Trooper studio version and The Clansman Rock in Rio live version.Up the Irons! lol...It’s a Maiden thing!
I dunno if it was my comment on the live that made you look into this, but I have mentioned it before. Bruce dickinsons voice is utterly insane! Run to the hills, seventh son, rainmaker, clairvoyant, paschendale, aces high, fear of the dark, wasted years, the trooper...... There's just so many killer tunes here mate. That's a killers shirt you got there. Album covers are fecking awesome too!
Love the pun on the shirt. I'm glad someone started giving some love to a lot of never mention greats. Everyone on youtube shouts for the obvious songs that made them great in the first place, but 16 studio albums, 40+ years world tours. Maiden never stopped making great music, it was the change in culture away from heavy metal, that dropped them from the lime light. I could never stand Blaze's voice live, but even he recorded some gem's.
with your story.. now ya GOTTA do "Run To The Hills" ..and for added measure add "Rime Of The Ancient Mariner" ...both fire songs. both tell deep ..DEEP stories
@Vanhalen125 Right. I remembered Burr left the band during the 82 tour, but made sure and looked at the video and it's clearly still him in this performance. Oops.
Iron Maiden is my favorite band of all time. I saw them 22 times in concert. I'm so glad that you liked the song. You should definitely check out more of their songs.
The members in this video are: Bruce Dickinson - vocals Dave Murray - guitar Adrian Smith - guitar Steve Harris - bass Clive Burr - drums Clive burr is one of the most underrated drummers on the planet. Sadly he died in 2013.
Maiden deserves a week of reactions. Try these: The Trooper Run for the Hills Rime of the Ancient Mariner Aces High Can I Play with Madness 2 Minutes to Midnight
So glad you got to hear the premier metal bands of all time. i got to see these live in the 80's and man, so please so many people are now enjoying what we have enjoyed for so long. Bruce 'the Air Raid Siren' Dickinson is sensational story teller of stunningly good lyrics written and played so perfectly. Even after 45 yrs, they are still going incredibly strong, minus Paul Dianno thankfully replaced by Bruce as lead vocalist (helping the band move into this metal era). Love your reaction - so this line up is Steve Harris on Bass (and main song writer/founder) Dave Murray & Adrian Smith on Guitars, Bruce Dickinson on Vocals and the late Clive Burr, Drums - RIP .
So glad you took the time to experience Iron Maiden. They are one of my favorite bands. Have seen them a few times in concert, one of which was in Hiroshima while I was overseas in the Marine Corps. This is my first time seeing your channel and now a new subscriber. Looking forward to seeing more of your reaction videos.
nice! thats "The Killers" shirt. bruce dickinson is the singer. he has his pilots licence and would actually fly their own jet when they would go on tour. they have a vast library of music so welcome down the rabbit hole!
This was recorded at Hammersmith on 20th March 1982. The album this track was on wasn't released until 22nd March so none of the audience had heard this song before. It was also the 21st show of the tour so they hadn't played it live that often. Also...it was only recorded in January 1982 for the album Number of the Beast.
Last concert i got to see before the virus hit. Came to Houston last year and i took my dad it was sick. Hearing them live even though they were way older they were still rocking hard. The singer Bruce was legit jumping around on stage like climbing scaffolding it was great.
Hey bro I am so glad you got to find out who the greatest of the greatest is my my man listening into some of the greatest of all-time good for you I'm proud I hope it changes your life man
I don't think I've seen anyone get into Iron Maiden like the way you do in this video. I couldn't help but focus on your facial expressions. You're digging it in the opening and then when the song really takes off, your eyes go from wide eye excitement to narrow, Kneel before Zod while using his laser beam eyes and your smile turns into this aggressive, yet still see the smile only it looks a tiny evil, gritting teeth, head shaking, back the f- up because I am really enjoying the hell out of this song, leave a message at the tone! I listen to Maiden, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Napalm Death, Obituary, Ghost, Behemoth and I get into the music, but damn, you are hardcore passionate about this. I love it.
This takes me back, my first iron maiden concert at 14 back in ‘86 my brother took me to cheer me up after I got diabetes. Still the best concert I’ve ever been to
Hallowed Be Thy Name came out in 1982, Bruce Dickinson vocals, Steve Harris bass, Dave Murray guitar ( he usually does his solo first) Adrian Smith guitar, Clive Burr drums ( r.i.p. to Clive)
My Iron Maiden cousin story: We were in the front row after the "pit" in front of the stage in the summer of 12 or maybe 13. It was an outdoor arena and the seating was terraced, so the row behind us was on a stair about 8" higher. We had all been drinking heavily in our section, and it was the first or second song of the encore. I guess the guy behind my cousin decided he didn't want to walk all the way to the urinals, so her tried to piss in a beer can. Well, he missed. He splashed on the ground, and because he was higher than us, it sprayed on my cousin's calves. My cousin had shorts but I had jeans on, so I was not aware why my cousin (who was about 5'10", 300+ lbs) turned, grabbed a guy, and threw him down the row. I just thought that at least it would be the end of the show when we got ejected by security. But the guy took off running, and security eventually caught him and thanked my cousin and all the other people in our section who saw it go down for pointing him out. It was a great show. Alice Cooper opened. And I'm glad I didn't wear shorts.
Lead singer Bruce Dickenson is known as "the human air-raid siren" Dude has such a killer voice. The long notes The inflections Theatrical Always lookin' like he is having a great time, and NOBODY gets an audience more involved then he does. Band is all around tight AF. It's not a new activity that creators make these reaction videos to new music, but this is absolutely my new favorite thing in this world. Watching people expand their music interests and find joy where they didn't even know to look is the best thing in the world. I know how good it feels to be introduced to new music from others and it's just a universal experience. We can feel the same love and joy even when we don't know each other and I can't even imagine anything more beautiful. I watch you discover this and I know exactly how you feel.
I had the privilege of flying with them on their tour plane back in 2004, seen them many times... Maiden are Rock Gods! Absolutely loved the the snap changed! 😂 Got a subscribe from me 👍🏻
I saw them the first time in the 80's in Montreal Quebec Canada and i saw them 6 to 8 times after that and i can tell you they never deseapointed me they are amazing never once they were off or seem bored and Dickinson's voice is one of the best i saw in my life Love your show From Mitzy xx
I'm a country girl at heart but this is my favorite song by them and my husband all time favorite band. Have seen them last 2 times they've been in the states
Iron Maiden was my 1st concert, late in the month of June 1983 Piece of Mind tour @the San Diego sports arena w/ Fastway and Saxon as the warm up bands. Please check out Running Free by Iron Maiden and/or any songs from their 1st 2 albums--you will not be disappointed
Members of Iron Maiden: Bruce Dickinson (voice) Dave Murray (Guitar) Adrian Smith (guitar) Janick Gers (guitar) Nicko McBrain (drums) Steve Harris (bass) Ex members Paul diAnno (voice 1978 - 1981,the very first singer) Blaze Bailey (voice, 1994 - 1999)
Iron Maiden is one of the most influential metal band there is and one of the best if not the best band to watch in Live shows. Iron maiden fans are one of the most dedicated fans you will ever see. and i know people will recommend so many songs since their catalog is ridiculously HUGE. so i will recommend The Clansman, Sign of the Cross, Wrath Child from Rock in rio 2001. Number of the best, 2 mins to midnight, seventh son of the seventh son, Poweslave, Wasted Years, Fear of the dark, Aces High, Alexander the great, Rime of the ancient mariner.. are just few to mention here. and please do react to their live performances. they will leave you speechless.
i guess you're now a metal head. congrats. the last concert i went to was Maiden in August 2019. the first song they did was Aces High. its a song about the Battle of Britain during the first part of WWII. they played a speech by Winston Churchill before the song. once the stage lights went up, there was a full size replica of a Spitfire fighter above the band diving and rolling. you'll find Maiden is a unique band among any genre. the bass player, Steve Harris, writes almost all the music and lyrics. his lyrics almost always focus on great literature or historically significant events or times. he is considered to be one of the greatest bassists especially due to his galloping bass picking style which uses all four fingers. Maiden is: Steve Harris - bass Dave Murray - guitar Adrian Smith - guitar Bruce Dickinson - vocals Nicko McBrain - drums Janick Gers - guitar i've seen Maiden three times. they remain one of my favorite bands of all time. next time they tour, put on your shirt and go see them. these bands wont be around forever. i depend on people like you to carry the torch for my music. if you dont tell your peers, the music will be forgotten. you seem to have the passion so you're one of the messengers now. thanks for seeing that this matters.
WOW! Never seen this live take, I think. It sounds sooo close to the album! These days it’s quite a bit faster (and it has been really for 30 years now) and Bruce seems to struggle keeping up a bit because of the speed. They are all quite a bit older now too, so there’s that. Still KICKS ASS live. Seen them many times, most recently this june. Bruce sounded better than ever, the drummer (who had just turned SEVENTY) played the best I’ve ever seen him. THE BEST band of all time, ahead of The Beatles and Dream Theater to me. And also: this must’ve been one of the last show with the amazing Clive Burr on drums, RIP❤️ brilliant drummer
Rime of the ancient mariner live. When it comes to Iron Maiden, ALWAYS do live videos. I dont say that about most bands. But Maiden always sounds spot on doing their live shows
Singer, Bruce Dickinson was ranked #8 in the UK in fencing at one time, flies an Iron Maiden jumbo jet (he's a legit pilot), worth over 100 million! Check out some of the more recent live stuff from South America. The crowds are amazing! Wasted Years, The Trooper, etc.
The lead singer (Bruce Dickinson) is more than just a musician. He's an author, commercial pilot - on the last tour he piloted the Boeing 747 tour plane that had the nickname "ED Force One" after Eddie the giant skeleton figurehead that is the character on your t-shirt - as well as an Olympic standard fencer, business partner in Trooper beer, expert on WW2 tanks, radio dj, presenter of documentaries on military vehicles, has a PHD in music, Screenwriter, Professor of History and decided to hold a gig in Croatia in the middle of a war zone while wearing a steel plated jacket. His picture should be next to the word badass
Hallowed be thy name is being described as the best metal song ever written....its genius. Can you believe this is live.....how tight musically do you have to be to sound like this...? They're amazing
Just listened to this song this morning for first time. Never listened to Iron Maiden before Liked it so much put in my headphones and listened to first 4 albums
Love them!!!!
Watch Live at River Plate, blow your mind!
My hubby said #5 Powerslave is the best album so keep going

So fun to see your reaction! LOL. Yes iron Maiden ROCKS!! Enjoy.
Hallowed Be Thy Name came out in 1982, Bruce Dickinson vocals, Steve Harris bass, Dave Murray guitar ( he usually does his solo first) Adrian Smith guitar, Clive Burr drums ( r.i.p. to Clive)
Aces high was the first Maiden song I heard.. so so good..
Ohh, ,, you got me! Rocking the shirt, hell yeah! Love this reaction!
Mad respect have fun, wish I could go back to the first time I heard hallowed be thy name
Love the shirt! I used to have that shirt! Eddie- their honored mascot is the character on it. He changes with the albums.
The shirt looks like the cover of the Killers album

I just ran across your videos. I've been in a rabbit hole all day. Good times.
This is a great reaction...
I love to see the joy of seeing someone discover something this good for the first time.
Other good Iron Maiden songs: Aces High, Dance Of Death, Fear Of The Dark, Run To The Hills
The Prisoner. Hell....all of them.
Dance of Death is so underrated, probably because of the cover art, but it's definitely one of my favorites.
Listen to “THE TROOPER” by them. Also “RUN TO THE HILLS”
Lead singer Bruce Dickenson is known as "the human air-raid siren"
Dude has such a killer voice.
The long notes
The inflections

I've been a Maiden fan for 20 years, I've seen them live twice, and you've got my favorite Maiden shirt for this. Hell yeah bro!
Hahahah the magic of the Tshirt was really great! :)
You made me fall in love with them all over again! Thank you!

Got a subscribe from me 👍🏻
I saw them the first time in the 80's in Montreal Quebec Canada and i saw them 6 to 8 times after that and i can tell you they never deseapointed me they are amazing never once they were off or seem bored and Dickinson's voice is one of the best i saw in my life
Love your show

I'm a country girl at heart but this is my favorite song by them and my husband all time favorite band. Have seen them last 2 times they've been in the states
Iron Maiden was my 1st concert, late in the month of June 1983 Piece of Mind tour @the San Diego sports arena w/ Fastway and Saxon as the warm up bands. Please check out Running Free by Iron Maiden and/or any songs from their 1st 2 albums--you will not be disappointed
Love your story lol. You gonna love Iron Maiden. Watching your reaction now.
The Talisman is an extremely underrated song by Maiden. Up the irons!

Maiden is:
Steve Harris
- bass
Dave Murray
- guitar
Adrian Smith
- guitar
Bruce Dickinson
- vocals
Nicko McBrain
- drums
Janick Gers
- guitar
i've seen Maiden three times. they remain one of my favorite bands of all time. next time they tour, put on your shirt and go see them. these bands wont be around forever.
i depend on people like you to carry the torch for my music. if you dont tell your peers, the music will be forgotten. you seem to have the passion so you're one of the messengers now.
thanks for seeing that this matters.
Thanks for the shout out to Vegas! Born and raised , I may know your Fam , big HollA
I bought this vinyl 82, still listening to it. Runt to the hills is a must for you
But Maiden always sounds spot on doing their live shows
These guys give their best every TIME!
The bass!¡!!...tat bass is Magic
Rime of the ancient mariner , rock in Rio ... Enjoy !!
Oh man.. To discover Maiden for the first time. My friend you are in for a journey!! Enjoy
Great reaction to an awesome song by a legendary group!
A complete movie production on stage. Best band live you will hear. Your ears will thank you!
One of the best bands ever!!!
Great reaction to quite possibly the greatest metal band of all time!! 🤟 Up the Irons!!
yep, I was just as amped when I first heard this song but that was back in the 80’s. I still get amped when I hear it. Timeless!
Caught somewhere in time is also another good song
Hallowed be thy name is being described as the best metal song ever written....its genius.
Can you believe this is live.....how tight musically do you have to be to sound like this...? They're amazing
Iron Maiden. Aces high. The Trooper. Run to the hills. Number of the beast.
Fun fact - the lead singer is a trained commercial airline pilot and the band have their own 747 that they fly around in.
Singer Bruce Dickinson
Bass Steve Harris
Guitar Adrian Smith
Guitar Dave Murray
Guitar Janic gears
Drums nicko mcbrain
In this set it is Bruce, Steve, Dave, Adrian and Clive Burr on the drums
R. I. P. Clive Burr
Janic Gers wasn't in the band yet when this video was released and the drummer was Clive Burr who Nicko replaced on the next album
Love Nicko but Clive was a beast on those drums. Those first two studio albums should be listened to for his drumming alone.
