Matching your parts would be the biggest reason. Having enough fuel or big enough injectors to run high boost would be your primary reason. The ability to make power is simple today. Holding it is another problem. The factory connecting rod is your limiting factor. Once you have a bottom end that will hold power and a fuel injector to deliver the fuel you also need an intercooler because high boost makes heat. By the way I checked out etcg1 ride out. Under drive pulleys slow down your accessory's ac/power steering/waterpump and alternator. Theoretically reducing drag which will free up some ponies. Hope your feeling better my friend. 🤜🤛 ty my friend 👍👉
what do you think about small engines and small superchargers? i have a m.benz with 1.6 liter supercharged engine. when using smaller pulley, which is still able to use same belt and other components, because of increased amount of air, will it need a tuning or will computer manage to adjust the fuel to compensate the difference? original kleeman branded pulleys are sold withhout a tuningbox, but alternatives are with a tuninbox.
as long as you don't get pass the limits of your fuel supply ie injectors and pump, you should be ok, that being said to make the most of the boost gain a custom tune may net you an additional 30 -40 hp over the stock calibration. try it gently to see if it likes it and go from there.
