You can calculate exact shifting points with this tool:
dg-edge.com/osp-calculator/
When using this tool, where is the easiest place to find the tire diameter? I tried using the linked site to find the size of The Valkyrie's tires but it needs me to define more details about the car first. And details I don't have.
@@jeremyespinosa2237 The best way would be to take a screenshot in the game an then later measure it with a tool used for detecting distance, like the one on the site.
But unfortunately I'm not 100% sure if that works. Only real one would be a database from PD, but we don't have one.
Here's an easier way to tell, watch your boost gauge and watch when the boost stops holding pressure. I've found this the easiest way in boosted cars. Find the point where the boost starts to fall off, and shift a tiny bit before that.
Bro is it me or the street m4 just has crazy power??
I've always wished PD would draw a line down from peak HP to the corresponding RPM so I don't have to guess. I may be guilty of tracing my screen and pulling out a ruler. LOL.
If u go your garage it says where peak torque and power is considering your setup, while in game use bumper or cockpit to know the exact rpm you are, no need for a ruler
Thanks for this vid, Digit! This is exactly the sort of content that is needed. Figuring out the torque is a massive deal in any car. This provides some good guidance on where to begin. Great work.
Great video!
I've been using the torque and power curves for quite some time, Mihael. When I first started on GTS, I revved every car out, lol.
I think it was when the Demio diesel was being used (Yamagiwa?) in Race A a while back that I twigged, looked at the torque/power curves, and the penny dropped. Really, really obvious with that diesel engine.
This is brilliant. I always wondered what's the rationale of short sitting Vs up shifting. Thanks for sharing 🙂
A better way to see the maximum power RPM is in brand central
Not useful after bop is applied
I have to wonder how much of this information will be applicable after the patch on Monday since I suspect that BoP changes and glitch fixes will be top priority
Since this isn't a glitch it shouldn't be affected
@@AK..12
"BoP changes and glitch fixes"......Clearly RPM ranges are not a glitch but they do fall under the BoP or Balance of Performance. The BoP is the metric that determines how any given car will perform in an online environment and changes to the BoP can change everything from weight of the car (which can affect handling and tire wear) to when is the ideal time to shift gears. So yeah, I think changes or adjustments to the balance of performance will very much affect this information if the BoP is changed with Monday's patch.
I agree. The shifting points that where shown in this video might change.
But the concept of shifting in the moment, that keeps you in the rpm range of max power will still apply.
This will work the same way no matter the patch. It was like this in gt sport also. It’s also like this irl. You dont always redline every car for peak performance
As others have said. It doesn’t really matter - you will always need to know when to shift a car. BoP, patches or not.
Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't his have been better demonstrated on the test track, or one of the American ovals where you could get more consistent cornering? This video is a year old, so was the test track not available at the time?
I first noticed this with some tuner cars in GT4 that were ultra slow when you don't short shift, i would assume it's been a factor in all the games. I wish they would make the on screen bar show the ideal shift revs based on the power curve. If you put redline increasing mods on your car, certain vehicles like tuned kei cars you have to shift well before the revs even display on screen.
I knew I wasn't going crazy when I noticed that some cars clearly had worse acceleration coming up to redline and should be shifted sooner.
I understan but...how do you read exactly in what amount of revs you need to upshift..where the lines crosses? Blue line? Grey line? Can you explain it for me?
There is a way to calculate exactly the point to shift, here you can just assume which one is it. Look at peak torque and it should be around that point
dg-edge.com/osp-calculator/
Here is how
That reminds me ten years ago a friend of mine used to rev his alfa romeo to the limit trying to get more speed and he was quite confused when I told him that he was way past the pick torque that he could get and that he should upshift earlier.
His engine broke a few months after that...
Yes Alfa engines are not the most reliable.
So i just shift when BHP is the highest? What about the KFGM?
Awesome thumbnail mate
Good and very informative video, I thought I was the only one who checks the graph, but Apparently even tho you max out your car the daily races will still be playable in meta cars, other cars like gt86 in gr4 in monza wouldnt be able to catch up with atenzas, (yes I'm a gt86 user) I loved dragon tail track and was enjoying a ton using gt86 vs atensaz but I know how powerful the car is,
What I really wanted to see is the real balance between cars. Tbh awd cars feels so. Light and so easy to turn.
I just want variety of cars in track, they might as well call it daily race atenza B and daily race wrx c
That is the reason why i'm not doing Daily Races atm...You are forced to use a car you don't want to use.
@@ChaosThanatos I try to be off meta I use jaguar on red bull but WRX eats you alive at some point... but the monza one? It's clearly atenza cup.
I am glad he used km/h
In GTS the WRX was fastest when short shifting 1st, 2nd and 3rd and revving a lot the 4th gear. I don't know whether it is the case in GT7
On the group 3 it's the case. Too much torque on second and third, you get a lot of wheel spin. 4th had the best traction
You didn't do enough testing to prove one way or another.
i wish you could mark shift points for your car
Can someone help?i have many cars who do not have boost?so my cars run without turbo.for exemple some gt3 cars, all my gt1 cars and group c cars.what am I missing?thanks.
the downside of all this tunning is that winning race is more about getting to best car for the job rather than driving skills, you can see that clearly on one player story mode. I think its kind of fucked up actually
That's funny.
Jason from engineering explain did a video talked about when would be ideal to shift to maximise acceleration.
And basically shifting at redline will.
Not sure did the game take gearing ratio into account.
ua-cam.com/video/zZBqb0ZJSwU/v-deo.html
Is the graph still accurate as of today tho? I'm using the WRX Gr.4 in the current daily race b (nurburgring sprint) and going by the graph I should be switching gears at around 6800rpm but it's actually better to rev up the car all the way to 8000rpm, all the top times do that. So I don't know if I should believe what the graph suggests.
Same doubt here
Good to point this out. I think most people don't think about this aspect.
I know I wouldn't have figured this out without an explanation. I was watching some Kei25 videos and he was talking about how short shifting in a Mclaren was the fastest approach for the car. I assumed he was short shifting to save fuel so he wouldn't have to spend as much time in the pits to fill up.
Am first ☝🏽😁😁😁 thanks for your help bro
Brilliant video buddy, thats really going to help many people. I may even have my first race on GT 7, yes.. still watching more than playing.
Guys im so shit i dono what to do, i have the gt dd pro and im all over the place i feel to sell :(
Hello, I was driving whith you many time...I'am BdxDriver on GT7
Nice to have you here :)
Excellent information 👌
Like deployed 👍
😎🎙🏎✅
Can someone tell me what’s the red box near the gearing+ also idk why the game dosent let me pic the speedometer in the music rally cuz that one literally looks better and gives me more information
It's just the suggested gear for the next corner
Damn, I was hoping for a blessing or a miracle... 😉
I wonder what Yaz is saying about the Tomahawk transmission glitch? Rumor is you can do it to all of the vehicles. Can anyone confirm that?
It probably won't matter after Monday's update since the general idea is that the PP glitch and the transmission glitch will be fixed then.
Literally all entry speeds are lower on the left
4:40 free hundred and free tenths? what is that?
Wow I never knew this makes perfect sense now 👍👍👍
What is the car from the thumbnail?
Excellent video. Thank you
Holyyyy shit. Very nice video dude
Gonna do this next time I play
Damn... like, it makes sense
Any tips for the nsx gr3
useful, thanks 👍
Awesome !
