Probably need to make it a one time use in battle so it won’t be banned from lower tiers and I think it’d honestly be a healthy meta pick for the lower ranks
My idea for Unown was as follows: -Go full 3rd Movie and give it something similar to Wishiwashi's Schooling, either through a new Hidden Ability or through a Mega Evolution, so it gets usable stats. -In conjunction with this, give it access to any move that starts with its letter (except for Sketch) through some kind of mysterious shrine or artifact. (Also, add more moves for relatively unused letters, so Unown X can have an actually good moveset.) Unown ! and ? are the odd one out; either get moves that start with special characters or numbers, or contain special characters, I'm not sure. This could lead to, say, Unown C with Collision Course, Ceaseless Edge, Cross Poison, and Coil, or a more supportive Unown F with Floral Healing and Follow Me.
@@natnew32 Yeah, that's the other tricky part. Japanese doesn't even have the same alphabet, so it wouldn't work. I think it would be really cool if Aurorus got both snow warning and sand stream as abilities. I don't know how useful it will be, but it would certainly make it unique.
For Lumineon, why not give it Quiver Dance? It's the Beautifly of the Sea, and it is because of that that it gets Silverwind. Carving a niche as a pure Water-type Quiver Dancer would be kinda great amidst the Water-type Shell Smashers.
I think an interesting buff to castform would be to make him summon a weather any time it goes for a move of that element. Making him a versatile setter if you want to run a multi weather team. Rejuvination gave it a thing where it will summon the weather move is slot 1 when sent out and gave it some sightly redistributed stats and weather abilities while in each form.
I don't want to call Shedinja bad... but honestly it is. My boi needs some love, take some points from its defense stats that literally do nothing and move them to its Attack, or at least give it a usable SpAtk for its shockingly good special movepool.
@@Cyber_Spirit okay but imagine how fucking funny it would be if Gamefreak had like two frames of a Nincada somewhere in a DLC trailer and the whole competitive scene would get to lose their minds for a month or so
@@tayclark42not necessarily, every type has weaknesses and any good competitive team should be able to cover most types, especially since terastalization is limited to one type
Unown should get an evolution if you catch the whole alphabet, that just looks like a swarm of Unown. And that could have decent stats and a wide movepool.
Also give Wigglytuff and Grapploct something What reason do you have to use Wigglytuff over Clefable or Grapploct over any slow-bulky pure Fighting-type out there I have a idea for both: Wigglytuff - replace Frisk with Fur Coat, increase it’s Sp. Atk (85 > 95) and Sp. Def (50 > 70), and give it STABs Boomburst and Moonblast Grapploct - give it Aqua Jet (if not Jet Punch), Flip Turn, STAB Mach Punch, STAB Storm Throw to actually make use of it’s Technician as well as Poison Jab and Knock Off, also increase it’s HP (80 > 90) and plz for the love of god make it Fighting/Water to actually set it apart
Tbf, poliwrath getting water absorb and swift swim make it a rain abuser or bulkier water counter, where grapploct would have immediate strength but be kinda slow
This is kinda tangential, but I think the elemental monkeys should all be able to hatch from eggs made by any of them. Like any egg from any of the elemental monkeys could yield any of the three species. It’d make them a bit more special and fun, like their type is just a random quirk (which would certainly draw attention away from them being six of the same Pokémon that probably just exist to boost the roster number in BW). It’d make it more difficult to get specific egg moves, but SV made it so all Pokémon can receive egg moves from peers, so I think it’d work! It kinda feels like Pokémon breeding’s potential isn’t utilized. I’ve still got my fingers crossed for PKMN stadium’s color variation to make a return… maybe even special traits, like spiky eared Pichu. I once saw fanart of crossbreed Pokémon, as a Bewear with the colors of Pangoro. There’s so many fun things they could add with breeding, but it kinda feels pointless other than its use in passive shiny hunting
The way I would buff Castform is by changing its ability so it looks at the 1st moveslot and if that is a weather summoning move, it activates that weather upon entering the field. Sunny day in the 1st slot would effectively give him drought
Also honorable dismention to Cursola. It’s only promising trait is it’s 145 Sp. Atk and it’s offensive movepool. 130 Sp. Def sounds good until it’s off set by 60 HP and 50 Def which is awful (and yet it has like 95 Atk?), mediocre abilities, it’s Spe is slow and I mean really really slow (30 to be exact), and the same pure Ghost typing that doesn’t help Dusknoir. And also just like Dusknoir it’s outclassed by it’s pre-evo G-Corsola which just dies to Knock Off (STAB or otherwise). Would Ghost/Rock be worse? Probably (knowing Rock’s and Ice’s reputation of too many weaknesses, same with Grass to an lesser extent) but it would be more interesting to say the least with extra resistances to Fire and Flying.
Some ideas: Make Lumineon a bit more bulky and give it screens, and it'll be a decent lead. Set up Tailwind, set up screens and Flip Turn or U Turn out if you survive. Aurorus: Give it some good Fairy coverage, trade away some of its speed for bulk and you get a good Trick Room mon, especially in Misty Terrain. With moves like Hyper Voice and EQ (both of which it gets in SwSh), Dazzling Gleam, and Rock Slide (why doesn't it get that in Gen 8???), it could be a really good Doubles mon for that strategy. Ledian needs an evo with the Zero to Hero ability. Simple.
When I buffed ledian in an emerald hack, I gave it the following new toys: - Swapped Attack and Special Attack - Added a bit more of attack up to 80 - Gave it Arm Thrust, with its base power increased to 25 like other multi-hit moves - Gave it *Skill Link* instead of Iron Fist (it has a lot of arms!) - Made a new move for it named Aerial Rave, which is a Flying-type clone of Triple Axel. Granted that's a lot of new stuff, but I couldn't see Ledian being good without an extreme change like Aerilate, Huge Power or an Evolution, which I didn't want to do. Its stats get obsolete mid-game but it's an early-game powerhouse, which I believe most early route bug-types should be.
You should’ve talked about Electivire and Dusknoir TLDR; Electivire’s movepool is too weak (despite 123 Atk) without any abilities like Sheer Force and Iron Fist nor setup moves like Bulk Up and it’s STABs ain’t helping it either and speed-tier is just 5 points shy of 100. Whiling Dusknoir can’t do anything a support or stall pokémon would normally do like removing items, setting or removing hazards, spread more than just burns, and most importantly heal. You would think 123 Atk/95 Spe and 45/135/135 bulk respectively sounds good on paper in the lower-tiers at the very least but not even that They have no niche in just about whatever tier they end up in (except Gen 4 UU in their dreams, which they can never go to because the usage stats ship has been sailed a long time ago). Electivire’s speed-tier is 5 points away from the crowded 100 (also dropped it’s speed from 105 > 95 upon evolving) and movepool is mostly too weak despite it’s high Atk stat with it’s strongest move being non-STAB Earthquake. Speaking of STAB the ones it does have are always lackluster ranging from 75 BP Thunder Punch to 90 BP Wild Charge…………with recoil. It also doesn’t that it gets no set up like Bulk Up nor any damage-increasing abilities like Adaptability, Galvanize, Sheer Force or even Iron Fist. Also stuck with Cross Chop (Fighting Stone Edge for those who didn’t know that move) as it still doesn’t have Close Combat. There’s a reason why it shifted to a special attacker despite that being the lower offensive stat (95 to be exact). Dusknoir has a mediocre defensive typing in pure Ghost which is arguably better than Steel/Rock and Ice/Steel (or any Rock or Ice typing really) but that’s not saying much, only 100 Atk with no way to increase and similar offensive movepool to Electivire too minus Cross Chop (at least Dusknoir finally has better STAB since gen 8, unlike the former), vulnerable to not only all hazards but also all status conditions, can’t setup nor remove hazards, can’t remove items, can’t pivot out, can’t phase opponents out, can’t even spread Toxic anymore, surprisingly can’t spread Paralysis either, and most importantly no reliable recovery (Pain Split and Rest obviously don’t cut it and it only just now got Leech Life and still no Drain Punch). And also no Levitate like Duskull has. And the worst part is even in VGC/doubles, anything Dusknoir can do Dusclops can do it better thanks to Evoilite alone. Not to mention all the better physical Ghost mons down there like Golurk, Trevenant, Gourgeist, Decidueye, Dhelmise, and most recently Houndstone and Brambleghast with the only one it is better than being Banette.
Pure ghost is not a mediocre defensive type what. 2 immunities + 2 resistances vs only 2 weaknesses, c‘mon. Dusclops problem has always been vulnerability to hazards + no reliable healing. Dusknoir has the same problem but is less passive but slightly less bulky. Not the type.
Or, conversely, give Ledian a new signature ability. Have it still give the iron fist boost to punching moves *but also* all punching moves use its SpA stat instead, turning every punch move on Ledian into essentially Psyshock.
With how terrible Ledian's stats/typing is you could give it Huge Power and it still wouldn't be OP. However, in a more 'realistic' manner here's how I would buff it: HP: 55 > 65 Attack: 35 > 60 Defense: 50 > 60 Sp.Attack: 55 Sp.Defense: 110 Speed: 85 Abilities: Early Bird > Technician or give it huge power
I think it’d be cool to turn in own into a gimmick pokemon, where it can learn any move, so long as the first letter of the move matches the letter it represents. As for exclamation point and question mark unown, I have no clue :D
For the elemental Monkeys, I like the Symmetry of stats and abilities But I do think that their ability Gluttony should be changed to an ability similar to “Neuroforce” where super effective attacks deal extra damage, but the ability doesn’t affect STAB attacks. Or an ability that turns non STAB attacks into STAB attacks. This is to have the focus of the monkeys being “which type for defence and move pool is better suited for the team I am building”
I think the best way to buff Unown would be to take from its dex entries. It's supposed to be weak on its own, but strong in groups. So maybe it could have an ability that would effect its stats depending on how many Unown are in the party, or, a much less vanilla option, evolutions based on the specific Unown in the party and how they're ordered. I like the former more, personally (Mixed with the "All 'Power' moves" thing that some hacks do), that's how I'd go about it. Also, I love Lumineon despite how generally forgettable it tends to be, so I'd love for it to get a buff. Honestly, I could see it gaining either the Fairy or Flying types. The former for obvious reasons and the latter cause, iirc, it gets access to a fair amount of Wind-based moves. Hell, it could even get Wind Rider as an Ability to take better advantage of Tailwind (Tho Dazzling makes sense too).
Personally I'd just give Archeops a Hidden Ability that's just... LITERALLY ANYTHING OTHER THAN DEFEATIST! Even an ability that does _absolutely Nothing_ for it, would be better than it reaching half health and then just giving up (which completely goes against the characteristics it had in the show BTW). Even Levitate, which is infamously useless on Flying types (Fan Rotom holding an Air Balloon) would be better for Archeops than Defeatist. Personally I'd just give it Early Bird, fitting for the canonical *First Bird Pokemon.* And it's not like Gamefreak is afraid of making Fossils into Powerhouses anymore (looks over at Dracovish). Also, there's no real reason that the Pre-Galar Fossils have to stay Part Rock type forever. In-Universe the explanation for why they're all half rock type is the imperfect revival methods. There's no reason Gamefreak couldn't just make a region where there IS more advanced revival tech, and the fossil pokemon get to have their original power. Maybe Auroros was Ice/Fairy Tyrantrum was Dragon/Steel, Or Lileep was Grass/Water or Grass/Poison (dex entries allude to either).
castform's Forecast ability should be able to instantly change its form form and type depending on the weather condition active and receive the equivalent of a speed boost for that weather. i.e.: chlorophyll, swift swim, sand rush, slush rush And Unown should have the calyrex treatment of base 80 across the board with Hidden Power as the only move that hits anything supereffective damage
I’ve always loved ledian. But it’s an awful Pokémon lol I just love the design. Always wanted to use one on a team, but back in gen 2 when I tried I found out it couldn’t even learn cut. So it was a no go. My bug or grass team member always needed the cut HM. It was my standard 😂
What did you use to display the pokemons modified stats in this video? I’m working on a fan game and I’m rebuffing a significant amount of pokemon and a tool like that would be very useful
I don't think alomomola being an evolution of luvdisc would make sense because one, both of them are in different egg groups, and two both of them have different gender ratios and stat distributions
"Not every Pokémon needs to be good" the narrativists say. But every Pokémon needs to *do something*. All the nice and cute and cool early route Pokémon are cursed into being Flying/Bugs and Flying/Normals without anything that makes them unique, gameplay wise. They deserve better.
All were usable in triples. I recall using an all unevolved team with togepi and used finneon and would still win against randoms. This mindset of restrained to singles doesn't work. Hell even in multi battles with randoms my maractus was a threat prevented opposing water types from hurting my teammates many times. There's always a way, but many players like using the easy way to win, so what can you do?
this makes me sad, so many of these are cool pokemon but they're just...so unusuable. ledian especially I've always loved its look but it's so bad, even for an early-game pokemon 😞
I’d either give it a buff it +20 in its Atk stat +10 in its speed stat 10 in HP Or switch/modify the stats a lil bit..give it swarm Currently/Proposed HP-55/55 Attack-35/110 Defense-50/50 Sp. Atk-55/35 Sp. Def-110/55 Speed-85/90 0ptional make it bug & fairy! If you change it’s type give it serene grace
I feel like having bad pokémon like these can actually be a good thing for the franchise. Maybe having some bad mons makes us value the actually good ones, but i may be wrong.
honestly with ledian make its 85 speed its attack give the 110 to its speed then drop the 35 to special attack and 55 spdf. then it can make use of iron fist and its rather decent phis move pool. or 110 in attack and stay with 85 speed.
Sand veil and sand force and ice body, etc. all make the user immune to the corresponding weather regardless of their type. That’s why cacnea didn’t take damage in sand storm because of sand veil. So wugtrio is in the clear on that, just give it arena trap and it’s suddenly a useful Pokémon. Still worse than dugtrio, but at least it’s a good revenge killer.

Maybe Auroros was Ice/Fairy Tyrantrum was Dragon/Steel, Or Lileep was Grass/Water or Grass/Poison (dex entries allude to either).
castform's Forecast ability should be able to instantly change its form form and type depending on the weather condition active and receive the equivalent of a speed boost for that weather. i.e.: chlorophyll, swift swim, sand rush, slush rush
And Unown should have the calyrex treatment of base 80 across the board with Hidden Power as the only move that hits anything supereffective damage
Appreciate the chapters 👍
I’ve always loved ledian. But it’s an awful Pokémon lol I just love the design. Always wanted to use one on a team, but back in gen 2 when I tried I found out it couldn’t even learn cut. So it was a no go. My bug or grass team member always needed the cut HM. It was my standard 😂
Maractus had those moves back in Gen5.
But it got banned because it was too good.
What did you use to display the pokemons modified stats in this video? I’m working on a fan game and I’m rebuffing a significant amount of pokemon and a tool like that would be very useful
There is a github repo someone made called BST Graph, requires a bit of programming knowledge to build and use though: github.com/njs-guy/bst-graph
Good work!! Love your chill energy
Unow is just lore and lore, his best appearance is always in the anime
Unown needed the physical attack because it was designed before the split
It's really unfortunate how poorly that aged
I don't think alomomola being an evolution of luvdisc would make sense because one, both of them are in different egg groups, and two both of them have different gender ratios and stat distributions
imagine if runaway allowed pokemon to escape arena trap and shadow tag
Sand Veil gives you a sandstorm immunity.
Ledian zero to hero. But with defenses. Unown, schooling.noctowl, analytic and psychic type.
Are you going to buff the other Pokemon you discussed in your "bad-amon" video?
Every pokemon is usable to an extent, just some are more usable than others. Like how if you want a storm drain user, its probably gonna be gastrodon
this makes me sad, so many of these are cool pokemon but they're just...so unusuable. ledian especially I've always loved its look but it's so bad, even for an early-game pokemon 😞
I’d either give it a buff it +20 in its Atk stat
+10 in its speed stat 10 in HP
Or switch/modify the stats a lil bit..give it swarm
Currently/Proposed
HP-55/55
Attack-35/110
Defense-50/50
Sp. Atk-55/35
Sp. Def-110/55
Speed-85/90
0ptional make it bug & fairy! If you change it’s type give it serene grace
2:48 In Gens 2 and 3 weren’t hidden power based on the type it copied? Like if you had HP Ghost it would be physical?
Give unown evolve into unown storm or give it protein and allways super effect hidden power.or maybe both.
As some one who used a wugtrio on my first sv team my Violet team yeah it dies so much and rarely gets a good moment.
So I can confirm that sadly wugtrio isn’t that good
Part 2 pls! This was really cool.
Ledian needs a big fighting mixed attacking evolution that goes full super sentai (or maybe more accurately zeo ranger 5)
That’s what I’m saying!
Funnily enough, i've seen Noctowl being used on competitive teams.
Noctowl and Aurorus are pretty good in the lower tiers yeah
and lumineon needs quiver dance
I wish cast form got love, I love him so much
good video but I feel some of these buffs wouldn't be good enough also wouldn't it be epic to get some godly unknown evolve legendary type thing.
I wanted to try and keep them similar to changes we actually get, most pokemon get like +10 to a base stat and thats it
loved the video!
Even without playing the game, it bothers me there are some kept so weak.
give ledian victory dance
luvdisc should evolve into alomomola and alomomola should be buffed
Alomomola is very strong at the moment
Alomomola got the best buff in flip turn, with regenerator and scald its really good on stall now
6:39 does he know?
W
Luvidisc It's just a heart scale farme and romantic setting
Noctowl should not be here, you cannot convince me a Pokemon with 100 hp and 96 Sp Def with Calm Mind and Roost and two immunities is a weak Pokemon.
give wugtrio arena trap.
instant ou.
❤
U look at the numbers wrong stop asking for more power creep Pokemon knows what there doing get better
